*** We found it! I say that because, Cheyenne and the internet were responsible for the successful recovery of her gold class ring. She had been at Newport Beach late that afternoon  staying long enough to watch the sunset. Her ring slipped off her finger into the dry soft sand. She only spent a few minutes trying to find it before realizing she needed help.

She did an internet search for ideas to get help. After finding my contact information, she called me. I was able to make the short drive that evening, meeting her at the location. Another thing that helped find her ring in a timely  manner was, she was able to stay at the location. Many people leave the location of the loss making it difficult to get back to the general area.

Minutes after meeting Cheyenne a quick grid search with my high end metal detector, I was able to find her very sentimental class ring. Unlike others that spend hours and sometimes days searching for their lost item in the sand without help, Cheyenne did the right thing, find a experienced metal detector expert. The right tool for the job with a person experienced with search techniques to find small metallic keepsakes.

Call now don’t waste your time and don’t worry about possibly losing your cherished sentimental keepsake forever.. I WILL TRY ANYWHERE.. Searching for a lost item is a process of elimination.. We can do it!!!   Stan ..949-500-2236

The Tale of Three Missing Rings! Parkland County, Alberta Canada.

  • from Edmonton (Alberta, Canada)
Contact:

Debbi called me yesterday to see if I could come out to her acreage and help her find her Engagement/Wedding/Anniversary rings which where solder together. They were lost about 30 days ago while she was pulling her plants and cleaning up her flower beds around her house, so she thought!.

After asking Debbie my usual questions in regards to her lost Rings I agreed to meet her at her home around 2 pm. She showed me where her rings could be and the area she traveled to her compost pile with her wheelbarrow.

Firstly I search the flower beds and immediate area, no rings. I then headed to the compost pile, still no rings.  I asked Debbi more questions to try and trigger her memory as to where she had been that day. When she realized her rings where lost she told me she was all over the place and the rings could be anywhere?

After exhausting all possible search areas I told Debbi her rings where not in the area she told me they could be.  I told her the rings could be in the house and to look there.   I also asked if she had looked in her car but she said she had looked so I asked her to take another look. While I was picking up my markers I heard a loud scream, “I FOUND THEM”!  Her rings were in the spare tire wheel well, in the trunk of her Honda. They were in a safe place and who knows how long they would have remained there if I had not insisted that she checked her car.  Debbi was over the moon to have her rings back on her finger.

The moral of this tale is never give up! Thank you Debbi for entrusting me to help you locate your rings.

One of his friends found my information online. Robert called me explaining what happened. I agreed to meet him as soon as possible, assuring him I could find the ring if he could stay in the location of the loss.

There was a little bit of traffic and it seemed like I hit every traffic signal with a red light. Robert was there on the beach when I arrived. Fifteen minutes later his gold ring was in my sand scoop. We took a couple photos to celebrate the recovery of his ring then we were all off to return home.

Lost Ring, Found in Back Yard and Returned – Rochester, MA

  • from Cape Cod (Massachusetts, United States)

October 20, 2023: While I was out doing yard work Leighton called with information on a ring search he was not able to help with. My wife was on her way to a luncheon, but took time to stop bye and tell me of the call. I finished up what I was doing, went home, and called Leighton. Information in hand I returned Mary’s call to get the specific information on the ring’s loss. It was the previous day that Reed’s wedding band was lost while playing football with his sons. I took down the pertinent information and I was on my way.

Reed had purchased a detector to search for the ring. His son had set up a well laid out grid over the possible area the ring had been lost in. But they were unsuccessful in locating the ring because of lack of familiarity with the detector and amount of non-precious metal in the yard. I was impressed when I saw what they had done, very professional. A point of last known and first realizing the loss were marked. Making my task of keeping a well defined grid search very easy.

Within several minutes I had verified several target signals as invalid. I made a few adjustments to my detector’s setting and bingo…a perfect signal. It was hard to see the ring as it had been stepped upon which embedded it into the soft soil. All that could be seen was one side of the ring.

I gave the ring to Mary and I listened to the problems encountered with the new metal detector while hunting for the ring. Well, I gave a few minutes of instructions on the detector’s use and I am sure there is a new young detectorist in the family. I could not have wished for a better hobby to pursue. I have met so many wonderful people and been there when they have needed a bit of help.

As this return was preceded with two members passing along information I just wanted to add my Thank You to both Leighton Harrington for passing the info to me and to Brian Rudolph in Maryland for helping Mary find the right “RingFinder” closer to her home and who would help her and her husband in the search for a lost Tantalum wedding band. This was my first Tantalum ring that I have found in my 41 years of detecting. Thanks to all, it has been my pleasure.

Gold Ring Lost in the Sand at Newport Beach, CA. Recovered by Stan the Metal Detector Man

If you need a metal detecting specialist call or text Stan the Metal Detector Man  … 949-500-2236

*** Sara is visiting Newport Beach from Idaho. Her friend was getting married and she wanted to see the ocean while being here in Southern California. The group of friends walked out to get a view of the Pacific Ocean, she stood on the upper sand watching the waves. She threw her hands in the air and her gold ring went flying. As the ring hit the sand it disappeared immediately. It happened so fast she couldn’t determine what direction it went. She knew for sure that was when the ring was lost.  Many times people think when they notice the ring missing that could be where it was lost.

Sara and her friends were able to optain a loaner metal detector. This was not going well so one of her friends found my information online after a onlooker suggested getting a metal detecting specialist. After receiving the call I met them on the beach a couple miles from where I live. The tide was coming in but we had plenty of time before it would be a problem.

Setting up my grid pattern to go over the area they had already searched, I planned to go outside the zone they had believed the ring had traveled. Rings seem to come off at the end of a throw. Sometimes they come off straight down to the feet of the person that threw a ball, brushed of sand off their clothes, rings lost playing volleyball can end up in the craziest of places. This ring was actually found ten feet outside of where everyone thought it would be..All those that searched for the ring were totally surprised where the ring ended up. Nothing surprises me anymore. Sara was very grateful, this was a ring that was a family heirloom, irreplaceable.

LOST GOLD RING IN APEX……. FOUND!!!!!!!!!

  • from Raleigh (North Carolina, United States)
Got a text from a buddy that his co-workers girlfriend lost a gold ring that she’s had since she was a girl. Her grandmother let her pick it out and she bought it for her.
She got home from work; it was almost dark, and she was throwing a dog toy around for her dog when she felt the ring slipping off as she threw the toy. She tried to stop in mid throwing motion.
I came out with the XP Deus II and covered the area. Took me about an hour and twenty mins to find because it was 5 inches from an aluminum pathway strip that went out to the fire pit.
After adjusting the DISC to eliminate the high tone. The gold ring was a 51/52!
Found and returned!

Gold Diamond Engagement Ring Recovered from Surf at a San Jaun Capistrano Beach

*** Tyran was collecting sea glass and shells in the surf at a San Jaun Capistrano Beach when her diamond wedding rings slipped off her finger into the waves. It was just about sunset when it happened. It was very rough surf conditions right up next to breakwater rocks. The rings were not to be found that evening.

I got a call from her later after she found my information online. She was willing to meet me the next morning at the location. After reviewing the information she gave me and the tide conditions, I told her our best chances would be the later evening tide. Even though I wanted to go right away my past experience in this area proved to work out well.

I assured them that I didn’t need them to give me anymore directions as the photos she gave me were perfect to identify the location. They did have dinner reservations for that evening in another city.

I was able to locate the engagement ring after fighting with a rough surf. The smaller of the two rings probably moved down the slope because the back wash was crazy strong. I was surprised that this larger ring was recovered in these conditions. That’s why I will at least give it my best shot. When I met Tyran and Eddie later that evening they were very happy and grateful to have this ring back. They had told me in the beginning  this was the most important ring of the two.
