Ashley’s Rose Gold Engagement Ring and Wedding Band Both Recovered by Brian Rudolph

A Miracle Took Place! Ashley, in a State of Shock, Holding Her Most Precious Material Possessions at South Point Sportsplex, Port Covington Baltimore, Maryland

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, SNOW, LEAVES, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a phone call from a young lady named Ashley who was completely distraught and overwhelmed regarding the loss of not only her wedding band but also her engagement ring, as well. She and her husband Tyler contacted me while I was driving to another search in Washington, DC.. Their hope was that I might be able to help them recover these two very precious objects of love.

The couple found me on the elite international directory of metal detectorists called THE RING FINDERS. Upon reading my profile on the website, they learned that I provide metal detecting services in Baltimore, Maryland.

Ashley and Tyler went on to share details of how Ashley’s rose gold wedding band surrounded with diamonds and her rose gold engagement ring with a 1 carat solitaire purple sapphire surrounded by diamonds went missing. Apparently, 24 hours before their call to me, Ashley drove to an outdoor sportsplex to be involved in a flag football game. She parked her car, took off both of her rings, placed them in an outside pocket of a string backpack that contained her sports gear inside, and then proceeded to walk to the field to participate in the game. The pocket that she put the rings in had a zipper that was unfortunately broken. Knowing this, she took the precaution of pushing the sentimental pieces as far down into the pocket as possible and then carried the pack over her shoulder as Ashley headed for the game.

Later in the evening, after Ashley arrived back home, she remembered to retrieve the rings from her backpack. When she reached into the pocket, there was nothing inside! Panic began to set in! Immediately, she told Tyler of the situation and the two of them frantically searched their house and vehicle for the two most important material possessions that Ashley owned. Sadly, the rings were not discovered.

After the couple couldn’t find either one of the rings at their residence, they quickly traveled over to the sportsplex to see if maybe the rings dropped out of the backpack on the parking lot or on the football field. They spent hours looking and scouring every inch of where Ashley had walked, as well as where she placed her things during the game and neither ring turned up.

The two of them returned home demoralized by the unfortunate circumstances. Their only hope for finding Ashley’s rings was that they were lost in the grass where she put her things prior to the football game. Since they checked the parking lot already and everything looked clear, they were quite afraid that the rings could have already been spotted by somebody and picked up. Ashley and Tyler truly hoped that that was not the case and that the rings were still on the field.

The next day, Tyler went back to the sportsplex and checked the parking lot once again. Then, he moved his way over to the football field and investigated the grassy area one more time and his efforts unfortunately led to no avail. Ashley would do the same two more times before they looked online for additional help. That’s when I finally came into the story.

I felt so torn while I was driving to that Washington DC search because I knew that time was of the essence if Ashley had lost the rings on the parking lot concrete. They were emotionally worn out and extremely upset with what happened. I told the couple that if I finished the in-house search early enough that evening, I would drive straight to Baltimore to do a late night search for the missing rings. As it turned out, I did not complete the Washington DC search until after 10:00 p.m. . Therefore, I scheduled Ashley’s search for the following day sometime during the mid-afternoon.

It was a beautiful day outside as I drove into the city of Baltimore. To my right, I viewed many shipyards lined up along the very busy ports. On my left, were dozens of factories with smoke stacks and little houses that were intermingled between warehouses and old store fronts. I arrived at the South Point Sportsplex parking lot almost at the same time that Ashley arrived.

Once I parked, I made my way over to Ashley’s vehicle where we greeted one another and then the two of us immediately got started. She showed me where her car was originally parked and then took me to the football field. Upon getting back to the parking lot, I went to my car and retrieved the necessary equipment to search Ashley’s vehicle to see if the rings may had slipped down between the seats. I used a special endoscope to be able to fit down into crevices and spaces that the naked eye cannot detect. After checking inside, underneath and around both the front and back seats, I was convinced that Ashley’s wedding band and engagement ring did not drop out of the backpack inside the vehicle. This left us with checking the grass and the parking lot.

Next, I got out my metal detector and necessary gear to check the grassy path that led up to the football field. It took me maybe about 25 minutes to grid several lines back and forth; up and down the hill. That area was filled with trash but I was still able to confirm without a doubt that neither ring was dropped leading up to the football field.

The Area Where Ring Finder, Brian Rudolph Searched the Parking Lot for the Missing Rings.

Just as I was about to grid search the football field sideline where the backpack was placed just before the beginning of the game, I noticed a car pulling into the parking lot which parked extremely close to where I marked off that section with cones. Ashley had shown me the possible spaces where she believed she parked on the evening of the disappearance of the rings, and so I wanted to keep that area off limits to other vehicles. With urgency, I said to Ashley, ‘We need to protect our territory. Let’s delay metal detecting the field and I will cover the blacktop next while that car remains parked there’. She agreed with my plan and immediately the two of us returned to the parking lot.

It was at this point that I began to do a grid pattern on the parking lot concrete. Ashley recognized that the likelihood that the rings were actually on the concrete was extremely slim.   And if the rings had in fact dropped out of the backpack prior to Ashley making it to the field, they would have been most likely spotted by either Ashley or Tyler, or a pedestrian who would have eyeballed the keepsakes as he or she was getting out of their vehicle or returning to their car upon leaving the football game (or some other event that was being held in the previous couple of days). When I deal with searches like this one, I don’t allow all of those negative (though realistic) scenarios get in the way of my search attempt. The reason why I call myself an Item Recovery Specialist is because I look at every possibility and I don’t count out any location or distance around that area where the item or items may have been lost.

I have to admit, when I was first contacted to do this search for the lovely young couple, I knew my chances were near to none in finding the rings there in the parking lot. The probability was much better that we could recover one or both rings hidden in the turf of the football field. They would have been securely hidden beneath the grass and protected from one’s eyes. Yet, I never doubt the possibility that a miracle can happen. I’ve seen and heard too many amazing and fantastic ring search finishes!

As I was detecting halfway into the third grid line on the concrete, I got a promising signal that I was compelled to check out. Up to that point I had recovered other little pieces of metal, including: a couple of pull tabs, a coin, and a few miscellaneous targets made of aluminum.

Just as I was going down to check out the object that I had detected, my eyes “zeroed in” on the most beautiful piece of jewelry that appeared to be rose gold in color, and the shape was that of a halo – or better yet…a ring! I did a double take and I could confirm that I had in fact found Ashley’s gorgeous engagement ring! It was stunning to look at! What an unbelievable recovery! I almost had to pinch myself because this was just too good to be true! I couldn’t wait to surprise the distraught young lady who was patiently hanging out in the parking lot about 25 feet from where I was conducting the search! Before I said anything, I continued on metal detecting with the hope that perhaps the wedding band had also not been spotted and picked up by someone.

Both the Engagement Ring and Wedding Band Just Three Feet Apart from One Another in the Middle of a Parking Space!

I finished that particular grid line where I found the engagement ring and eventually moved on to the next lane, starting my way back in the other direction. Inside of me, there was so much suspense and tension building within because I knew that if I was going to find the wedding band, it would most likely be found not too far away from where the first one fell out of the backpack. Well, just as I swung my Minelab Equinox 800 detector approximately 3 feet from where I found the 1 carat solitaire purple sapphire surrounded by diamonds engagement ring, I got another fantastic signal that was worth checking out. I began to kneel down to investigate the target when all of a sudden another rose gold ring came into sight! It was Ashley’s rose gold and diamond tiara wedding band! Once again, I couldn’t believe what was happening! Not only did I recover the engagement ring, but I had found the missing wedding band, as well! Incredible! What a miracle! I know that the prayer that Ashley and I petitioned up to God just prior to beginning the search had absolutely been answered! The complete ring set belonging to this sad and defeated bride was about to return to Ashley’s left hand! Wow! What a moment that I was experiencing! The odds of this happening is few and far between! My heart was racing uncontrollably! The two rings had fallen out of the backpack just as Ashley had removed it from her vehicle! Then, for the next couple of days, the precious jewelry laid bare on the parking lot concrete, unseen by the couple and everyone else for that matter! Incredible! It had not even been run over by a tire!

Minutes later, I surprised Ashley with the first ring! She was completely blown away by my discovery! The moment was totally surreal! And then…I unveiled the second band! That’s when the floodgates within her eyes opened up and at that point there was no stopping the pouring tears of happiness! She was beyond grateful for my work and so very relieved that the two most important material objects that she owned (which she thought were most likely gone forever) had returned to her once again…and forever they will remain with their rightful owner! I will never forget that day in Baltimore, Maryland when I recovered those two beautiful symbols of love from that busy South Point parking lot where they laid for nearly three days!

Lost Platinum Wedding Band in Backyard…Found in Alexandria, Virginia Neighborhood

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Jonathan’s Platinum Wedding Band Finally Found After Brian Rudolph was Called In to Search and Recover Jonathan’s Beloved Lost Ring!

Under the Mask, Jonathan is Beyond Excited to Hold His Most Handsome Wedding Band Once Again!

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, SNOW, LEAVES, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

Jonathan lost his beloved platinum wedding band while playing with a red rubber ball in the backyard of a friend’s house. As he went to hit the ball back to the others who were entertaining themselves during their get-together, Jonathan felt the ring fly off his finger. The only problem was that no one knew the direction of where the wedding band headed. For an hour and a half, the large group of people searched the backyard but all of their efforts led to no avail. The special keepsake was nowhere to be found.

At some point during the latter part of the day, Jonathan and his wife searched the internet for some help. Their answer was identified as THE RING FINDERS, an international directory of metal detectorists who specialize in finding lost rings for people. The couple learned that I, Brian Rudolph, provide metal detecting services in Alexandria, Virginia and immediately called to get some assistance.

It was such a pleasure talking with Jonathan on the phone. We made an appointment for me to come out the following day to his friend’s house to see if I could solve this mystery of the missing ring.

The next day, I headed to Alexandria, Virginia excited about this search. Though it was pouring rain outside, I was fully prepared with my weather proof attire. I met up with Jonathan and he immediately took me to the back of the house where I would conduct the search. He introduced me to his friend who lived at that residence and then the three of us journeyed around the property to get an idea of where everything took place up to the moment when Jonathan lost his wedding band.

My client showed me where he stood and the direction he was facing when he hit the red rubber ball. It was clear that the ring could have gone in any direction, including behind Jonathan at the moment when the ring went flying. The yard was adjacent to five other houses, so it was possible that the sentimental piece could have ended up rocketing across the high wooden fence to the surrounding properties. We had a lot to cover and the rain kept pouring down on all of us.

Once I got oriented with the search site, I reached into my portable wagon and retrieved all of the gear that I needed to metal detect the backyard. I grid searched the entire backyard, doing straight lines from one end of the lawn to the other. Nothing turned up. I metal detected in the bushes along the fence line all the way to the other end of the fence and still there was no ring to be discovered.

Next, I took my secondary detector with a 6-in coil at the end of it and detected the garden area. There were various gourds that were growing with long vines and leaves extended in every direction. I was very careful not to hurt the plants as I was searching for the missing ring. Just like with other areas throughout the yard, I came in range with various metal objects but not the target signal that I was looking for.

Not only did I search the grassy areas, the flower beds, bushes, vegetable garden sections and all along the 6 foot fence corners, I also moved along the foundation of the house. I checked out this area just in case the ring flew over to the outside concrete steps, near the walkway and around the rear door that led into the house. Still, the special piece of jewelry was not located.

At this point, with the rain continuously falling, I had no other choice but to search the other side of the fence. As I shared before, I would possibly need to visit up to five other backyards and metal detect those lawns to determine if the ring ended up on the other side of the 6 foot tall wooden barrier.

After detecting the side of the house that Jonathan’s friend lived in (just in case the ring flew over the fence and into the grass  of the side yard), I walked with Jonathan’s friend over to the adjacent neighbor’s home where he sought permission for me to search their backyard. We got the go-ahead to do the search and once again, Jonathan’s platinum ring was nowhere to be found. It was at this time that I was getting a bit nervous that perhaps I somehow missed it over at the first yard (such as not discovering it in the bushes or something). But I tried to keep a confident attitude within that I thoroughly checked every square inch and that I truly wasn’t negligent in not finding the band up to that point.

It was now time to go to the backyard of one of the other neighbor’s lawns. I could have picked any of the other four homes, but I purposely selected the property that was directly behind the majority of Jonathan’s friend’s yard. I figured that the ring could have darted to the left of Jonathan and flew over the fence into that particular neighbor’s yard. There was more square footage to search at that location in comparison to the other remaining lawns that I might have had to search. Therefore,  I deducted that that was the best place to check out next.

In order for us to have access to the second neighbor’s property, Jonathan’s friend and I had to walk all the way to the end of the block. Then, we turned right and walked to the next block, made another right turn and walked all the way down the street until we were lined up with the backyard of Jonathan’s friend’s house. After getting permission from that neighbor to do a backyard search, I immediately set up my gear and started metal detecting.

The moment that I examined the obstacles and spaces that I had to work with (located near the fence line and in the surrounding areas), I determined that I needed to use a smaller coil to get in between the shrubs and newly planted miniature pine trees.

The area around the neighbor’s shed was clear of any significant targets. I then moved parallel with the wooden fence and detected around the little pine trees that had just been planted in the ground the same day that the ring went missing. Even the mulch surrounding the little ones was fresh and brand new. I made sure that I detected completely around each of the pines just to make sure that the ring didn’t happen to fly over the fence and then get buried in the neighbor’s newly gardened tree bed.

As it turned out, just as I was moving around the third pine tree (I believe it was number 3), I got a very promising signal. It was in the range of Jonathan’s platinum wedding band and the target came in as a number 14 and 15 on the Minelab Equinox 800 detector that I was using. I leaned down towards the ground and took my handheld metal detector to determine exactly where the signal was coming from. As the pinpointer began to vibrate and sound off, I looked under one of the little pine tree branches and I caught a glimpse of just a little piece of shiny silver protruding out from underneath the mulch! I got so excited! I was so hoping that this piece of metal was the precious keepsake that I had been looking for all along. ‘It would really make a great story if this turned out to be Jonathan’s ring’, I thought. And yes, a great story it did end up becoming!

I put my hand under the little tree and pulled out the piece of metal that was sticking partially out of the ground, and there it was in it’s fullness! I found the ring! I recovered Jonathan’s lost wedding band! It had flown over the fence and landed in the neighbor’s yard! Then, sometime during the neighbor’s gardening project, the ring got buried partially under the mulch while the shredded wood pieces were spread around the pines! I could not have been more excited at that very moment!

Jonathan, who had left to go home for a little while, had returned to his friend’s house and was hanging out on the second floor screened-in balcony. He was viewing my search as best as he could while I was on the other side of the fence. When I found the ring, his friend who was still with me, indicated some positive reaction which set off a clapping party over by his house and everyone including Jonathan was going crazy with excitement! The search was over!

To solve this mystery of Jonathan’s lost band by discovering it in one of the neighbor’s yards, under a tree in the mulch was just a complete thrill for me! I love these kind of stories, and most of all, I love seeing smiles return to the faces of my clients (such as with the case of Jonathan’s keepsake) when the item is safely back in the hands of the one who cherishes it the most! There was a lot of sunshine beaming from Jonathan’s face that afternoon, Even though the skies above kept pouring down buckets of rain that afternoon, one thing was for certain; in comparison to the grey conditions outside, there was a whole lot more sunshine beaming from Jonathan’s face as we both headed our separate ways!

Wedding Band Lost During Yard Work in Ellicott City, Maryland…Found by Ring Finder Brian Rudolph

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Robert’s Huge Handsome Celtic Style Yellow and White Gold Wedding Band Safely Displayed Above the Fence that Previously Masked it.

Robert and Rida Proudly Celebrate the Return of One of Their Most Priceless Material Objects!

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, SNOW, LEAVES, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received an email from a woman named Rida who was contacting me on behalf of her husband who lost his wedding band in the backyard of their house in Ellicott City, Maryland. Robert was diligently throwing branches and sticks over his split rail fence which was shielded with metal netting to keep the larger animals out of the yard and keep his own canine safe within it’s parameters.

While in motion of throwing a branch, Robert was pretty certain that he lost his extremely large yellow and white gold celtic wedding band. He remembered wearing the oh-so-very important keepsake on his finger when he went outside that day to do yard work. He swore at the time that he knew exactly when the band flew off across the fence during one particular throw that he had made during his after-storm clean-up.

Many hours of searching for the band turned into days of frustration, and actual tears began to flow from his eyes when nothing turned up. His brother-in-law who lived next door, came over to help, as well, but even his assistance didn’t pay off. Robert figured that he could recover the “sentimental story” if he just kept looking for it, but all of his efforts led to no avail. According to his words and his wife’s account, he was completely devastated as this ring meant everything to him.

Finally, Rida and Robert did some research online and they happened to come across THE RING FINDERS website. They learned of this international metal detectorist directory that provides specialized help in solving these type of ring mysteries. Once they looked up a metal detectorist near them, they found me, Brian Rudolph, who provides metal detecting services in Ellicott City, Maryland. In just a short time, we were on the phone covering all of the details regarding the missing ring.

Two days later, I arrived at Robert and Rida’s lovely estate. They took me to their backyard and showed me the area where Robert had been throwing tree limbs over the fence when the ring flew off. On the other side of the split rail, there was nothing but thick bramble, weeds, high grass and trees. Robert demonstrated how he tossed the pieces of wood over the fence and where he thought the ring traveled into the overgrowth. He was almost 100% sure that he saw the ring go over the fence. Once we were finished the initial investigational reporting, I returned to my car to gather up all of my metal detecting gear and then returned to the search site to begin metal detecting.

The two biggest obstacles that I was dealing with happened to be: 1, All of the metal mesh that covered the fence. 2, All of the high growth on the other side of the split rail sections of the fence.

Before detecting the outside area of the fence parameter, I metal detected along the fence line inside the yard. I knew that this was not a guarantee that I didn’t miss the ring because the metal mesh that was connected to the split rail fence could mask the ring, causing my detector to pick up the metal that was on the fence and not the target that I was looking for. The fence metal was the predominant metallic source so I would be competing against it as I was looking for Robert’s beloved keepsake. If I didn’t find the ring anywhere else on the property, I would have to return to the fence line and rake everything away from the metal mesh and split rail pieces to see if the ring was hiding somewhere in that vicinity. As it turned out, I finished the inside parameter along that fenced-in-area and I did not find the ring in that location.

Next, it was time for me to detect over on the other side of the fence in the midst of the bramble and overgrowth since that was the area that Robert believed the ring had ended up.

During my couple of hours of searching behind the fence line, I recovered a bunch of bottles that had caps on them, along with aluminum cans and other pieces of garbage. I found farm equipment that dated back to probably the 1950s along with old vintage yard decorations, as well. I had to be very careful where I positioned myself because there were quite a bit of thorns to contend with amongst the thick bramble surrounding all of the places that I wanted to search.

After it got dark outside, I continued my detecting by using my high lumens headlamp to light up the night. Robert kept me company for part of the time and he was a great source of information as I continued to ask him more questions about what ensued on the day that his most valued material possession went missing.

When I had no luck finding the ring on the other side of the fence, I laid out grid lines on the backyard lawn and metal detected that whole area. I wanted to cover that area just in case Robert lost the ring prior to him throwing the tree limbs over the fence. And the alternative theory was that when he launched one of the pieces of wood, the ring could have rocketed behind him instead of going forward towards the fence.  Sometimes we think something actually took place with our jewelry when we lose the precious items, but in reality, something quite different happens to our greatest surprise. It’s weird how the brain can play tricks on us.

Well, after spending several hours at the property, I was able to cover a significant amount of territory. However, the huge Celtic style wedding band was still at large. Though I did not find the ring that particular evening, my greatest discovery happened to be a cute box turtle that was hiding in the high grass right by the corner of the fence. I was so excited when I discovered it!

I talked with Robert and because it was getting late out there, we called it a night, knowing that my next plan of action would require a bit more time to implement my planned out strategy.

Two days later, I returned to the search site with the determination to find Robert’s lost ring. As soon as I arrived, I shared with the couple what my strategy would look like. Before heading to the outside area of the fence to begin trimming back much of the thorn bushes and high grass (I brought my Ryobi hedge trimmer), I planned to first rake along the fence line inside the parameter of the yard. My goal was to see if the ring never made it over the fence and that perhaps it was masked over by the metal mesh when I had detected along the fence line two days previous. If I didn’t discover the band that went MIA, I would head back over to the “wild side” of the property and start trimming back all of the bramble and overgrowth.

As soon as I wheeled my cooler and cart full of equipment over to the backyard’s section of fence where I would be concentrating the search, Robert and Rida returned to their house hoping for eventual good news. What they weren’t prepared for was how fast I would uncover the missing ring! Yes, within a minute or two of raking back some of the high grass and miscellaneous brush along the inside parameter of the fence, I found the ring! It took no more than a couple of minutes to find!

Apparently, because the band was located within 6 inches of the fence, the metal mesh on the fence had masked the metal of the ring when I first detected near the fence line two days earlier. That explained why I missed it. On this second search day, I pulled whatever growth I could as far away from the fence as possible so that there would in fact be the separation necessary to detect a missing piece of jewelry should it have landed so close to the fence. And it did! Once I cleared only a small section of fence from some of the grass and brush that was present, I used my eyes, pinpointer (a handheld detector), and my metal detector with a 6-inch coil to do the rest! And there it was, hidden below the grass that was still present! For a moment, I couldn’t even believe how quick I found the missing item! This type of search could a potentially gone on for days!

So, here’s what happened on the day Robert lost the ring. As he was tossing miscellaneous tree limbs over the fence, his wedding band slipped off and flew from his left hand and traveled across his body and fell approximately 25 feet to the right of where Robert was working. The ring settled on the same side of the fence where the perplexed and disheartened man had originally lost it. Though he thought it flew over the fence, in reality, it never made it over to the other side! In addition to that, the band radically flew on an extreme angle to the right of Robert, just inches from the fence!

It never ceases to amaze me where these little guys end up! In the case of Robert’s wedding band, this was no little guy! When I found his ring I thought I had found the band of a king! The yellow and white gold Celtic style keepsake was humongous and extremely heavy! One of the largest rings I had ever found! It was exquisite! The design of the ring was top quality in every way!

Once I recovered the lost ring, I gave Robert and Rida the sweetest surprise! They were both blown away to find out where the wedding band had ended up! I could not have been happier for them! Robert was so emotional he began to cry and gave a big hug to his lovely bride! The nightmare was over and Robert was able to get his ring back on his figure where it would never be lost again… hopefully!

Ring Finder, Brian Rudolph, Showing Off the Chocolate Chip Treats that Rida Baked for Him Upon Bran Finding Robert’s Most Sentimental Keepsake!

Just before I left, Rida “literally” gave me the sweetest surprise that I was not expecting! As I was packing up, she presented me an entire tin container of her homemade chocolate chip cookies! They were absolutely amazing! I constantly thanked the two of them for such kindness and thoughtfulness that they had bestowed upon me the entire time that I was working with them! It was such a special experience with such incredible human beings that Robert and Rida are!

As I drove away I waved back to that very happy couple until I could see them no more. It meant everything to me to get a glimpse of the two of them arm in arm without a care in the world now that Robert’s ring was back where it belonged!

Lost Engagement Ring in Creek at Corbin’s Island Park…Found by Ring Finder Near Huntingdon, Pennsylvania

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Tina’s Beautiful Engagement Ring Displayed Once Again in its Magical Glory!

Tina, Lucas and Little One Celebrating Beside One Another the Return of Their Most Special Keepsake!

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, SNOW, LEAVES, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon in August around 1pm when I received a call from a young lady named Tina. She was devastated regarding the loss of her white gold solitaire diamond engagement ring which was surrounded by smaller diamonds and Emeralds. She, along with her fiancé, family and friends drove from the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area all the way to Corbin’s Island Recreational Park, near Huntingdon, Pennsylvania (2.5 hour trip) to enjoy a weekend of relaxation and fun. Unfortunately, while Tina was out in the creek helping a young child get into a raft, she felt her beloved engagement ring slip off her finger and fall into the water below.

Immediately, Tina did all she could to locate the ring, but nothing turned up but rocks, stones and more rocks. All eleven or so people that were in her group teamed up to search for the piece of jewelry and in the end, no one could find it.

After hours had gone by and the emotions of losing the ring began to rise, Tina was desperate to find a solution to her problem. Her fiancé Lucas did not know what happened with the ring because he was not there at the time of the incident. Tina was so afraid to tell him what had happened and hoped that there would be some way that she could find her beloved engagement ring before Lucas returned to the park.

Tina began to look online and she eventually found the elite international metal detectorist directory called THE RING FINDERS. She looked up metal detecting services in the Raystown and Huntingdon, Pennsylvania areas and eventually found me, Brian Rudolph, just south of the Pennsylvania border in Maryland. I referred the desperate lady to another ring finder on the directory who lived closer to her location, but unfortunately he was away on a day trip with his family and was unable to take on the challenge. That’s when I told Tina that I would be willing to do the two and a half hour drive (one way) up to Pennsylvania from the Maryland area just to try to help her situation!

Tina was so happy to know that I was willing to drive all that way to help recover the lost engagement ring. However, because this amazing service seemed too good to be true, her family and friends were very skeptical of metal detectorists like myself who just want to help recover someone’s lost “story” and to do it on a reward basis with whatever the client can afford. Tina texted me and told me that they thought this had to be a scam. I kept telling Tina that she was more than welcome to call the CEO of The Ring Finders, Chris turner, to inquire as to whether this was too good to be true!

Probably an hour past and I still did not hear back from Tina as she was still struggling with whether or not to take the plunge and trust that I was not only the right guy for the job but also that she could trust me with her beloved property. At some point, after going back and forth with multiple text messages, Tina decided to try me out. What she didn’t know at the time was that I started driving her way even before she called me back because I knew that time was of the essence. I did not want another detectorist to pocket the ring during the interim stage of our correspondence. If she decided that she didn’t want me to help with the search, all of that driving would have been for nothing. Thankfully, Tina contacted me and said that she would give me a shot! That’s when I told her I would be there sooner than later (I still had another hour and 45 minutes to go).

The trip to Pennsylvania was quite a beautiful journey. The country hills, lovely little towns and scenic mountain ranges were simply stunning. When I arrived at the park, I got out of the car and greeted not only Tina and her children, but also her fiancé Lucas! It turned out that Tina “told all” upon Lucas arriving at the scene sometime before I got there. She broke down in tears and shared how she lost her engagement ring in the water and tried everything to find the precious jewel prior to contacting the ring finder. Lucas was completely understanding to the situation and was extremely happy that I was there to help.

After our meet and greet time, Tina immediately took me into the water and showed me where she was when the ring disappeared. The creek’s water depth couldn’t have been more than 18 inches to 2 feet at most. I could see right to the bottom. There were mostly rocks and stones filling the bottom floor so the ring was presumed to be hidden under one of them. Some of the family members were worried that the ring was pushed by the current downstream.

We returned to land after my orientation and I assured Tina and Lucas that I would take care of the rest. After putting on my dive shorts, shirt and boots, I grabbed my waterproof metal detector, headphones, harness, pinpointer and scoop and once again made my way down into the creek.

In the first 5 minutes, I heard a few random signals that weren’t in the number range of what I was looking for on my machine. I verified again with the couple the search parameter and kept focused in that particular zone. No more than a minute later, I got the signal that I was waiting for! Just as I knelt down into the water to check the particular target out, my eyes locked in on that most beautiful diamond ring resting at the bottom of the water, patiently waiting to be rescued! The band was “silver” in color and there were diamonds and emeralds surrounding the exquisite solitaire on top. I found the ring! What had initially been an all-day fiasco for Tina and all of the others that were searching with her for the entirety of the day at the park, in the end, I was able to put an end to the nightmare in a matter of minutes! I drove two and a half hours to take care of a quick search and recovery operation and it was well worth the smiles that I brought back to the faces of Tina and Lucas!

Once I surprised the couple with what I had recovered from the creek, the two were just blown away by what I was able to do for them and what I was able to recover so quickly! We all hugged and thanked the Lord for answering our prayer which we made together prior to me going into the water!

I told them that every mile I drove to Pennsylvania and all the miles I would have to drive back soon thereafter was extremely special to me. Just knowing that I was able to give back such an important and precious “piece of love” that would have been lost forever (had I not responded to Tina’s beckon call for help), it could not have made my day more complete!

After we said our goodbyes, as I drove away I glanced back at the picnic table where the family was still congregated around. There I saw Tina and Lucas embracing one another with the most beautiful expression of love that one could ever witness seeing! No feeling on earth could have measured up to the way I was feeling at that moment, knowing that I had helped the sweet couple find peace and relief over recovering such a sentimental and priceless piece of jewelry!

Lost Meteorite Gold Wedding Band in Nanticoke River…Found Near Salisbury, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Brandon’s Extraordinary Meteorite Gold Wedding Band Recovered from the Nanticoke River

Brandon, Jessica and Family Celebrate with the Meteorite Gold Wedding Band in Hand Once Again!

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, SNOW, LEAVES, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from a young lady named Jessica who was calling on behalf of her husband Brandon. She found my information on THE RING FINDERS website, the largest directory of metal detecting specialists in the world!

Brandon was playing water volleyball with family and friends in the Nanticoke River (a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay) when his wedding band went missing. He was certain that the rare and most handsome custom designed meteorite and gold ring slipped off his finger in the salt water.

Jessica had read and viewed some of my work online and had high hopes that perhaps I could help recover this special keepsake from the Nanticoke. We talked for a good while, gathering all the facts necessary to determine whether I could take on the challenge. At the end of our conversation, I accepted the mission!

Two days later, I met up with Brandon and Jessica. I slept overnight close to the river’s shoreline where I would be personally picked up by the couple in their awesome boat. They would then shuttle me from the beach nearest to where I parked my car over to the search site where I would begin my recovery efforts.

It was a beautiful day outside and I couldn’t wait to get in the water! When we arrived at the area where the ring went missing, Brandon and Jessica spent some time showing me all of the landmarks that they took note of before leaving that spot on the day when the ring disappeared into the river. There were three trees that were grouped together in a certain way that was a reminder as to where the volleyball net was set up in the water. There were also some plants and pieces of wood that additionally assisted me so that I had a clear bearing as to where I should concentrate on the search.

Before the couple took me to the area, Brandon put markers in the river which gave me boundaries as to where he thought the ring may have ended up. He was quite clever in constructing poles with golf balls attached to the top of the markers. Each of these poles was 6 feet tall which worked perfectly in the 5 foot depth of water that we were dealing with.

The volleyball net that was played with several days earlier was attached between Brandon’s boat and another family member’s vessel. Brandon, who is an engineer, constructed special anchors for their boats so that they stayed in one place throughout their game time. The net never fell or got stretched too much while playing in the river. Because of this fantastic creation, the couple knew exactly where the boats were tied up and was able to narrow the search parameter quite a bit.

Once we completed all of the intel necessary to begin the search, I gathered up all of my gear: my harness, metal detector, headphones and Xtreme sand scoop and then made my way from the shore out into the water. I was really excited about this challenge. My search zone was about 35 yards (105 feet) by 25 yards (75 feet). We had to deal with this amount of width because the ring could have flown outside of the general area where everybody was playing. One thing that us ring finders experience quite often is that rings can fly pretty far!

I planned this particular early morning time frame based on the tide chart readings for that area that we would be searching. The water level was at its lowest point at the time when I began looking for the ring. Conditions were very good out there with the water only slightly choppy and the temperature was quite warm.

Brandon’s parents arrived at our beach spot sometime around the time that I was entering the water. They hung out and kept their children company. They too were there on the day of the loss of the ring.

My detecting began from the far left side of the rectangle that Brandon and Jessica created for me with the poles. I went from the shore straight out to the end of the parameter and then back again repetitively. I found some coins, many bottle caps, pull tabs and other miscellaneous items at the bottom of the saltwater.

Each time that a target came in range of my detector, I analyzed the item before scooping it up from the sand below. Since this was my first meteorite ring that I was looking for, I wasn’t sure exactly what numbers would appear on my screen, but I kept an open mind to the fact that there could be some iron signals that the sentimental piece of jewelry would give off (meteorite contains iron in it).

After the first couple of hours of my search, I took a break on shore and ate a snack and hydrated myself. I encouraged everyone present that a successful operation was completely obtainable and to not give up hope. With that said, I returned back to the beautiful river to resume my search.

I continued to pull up similar items as I did before the intermission, including an occasional beer can or two. The positive thing was that there was little trash in the midst of the pull tabs, coins and bottle caps. This allowed me to move swiftly through the water and not be preoccupied with examining bogus targets.

As time marched on, I noticed that Brandon was getting concerned that his beloved wedding band would never be seen again. Later that day, he would share those very thoughts with me. I knew that we had a great chance of finding the ring. However, it was a matter of having patience, determination and perseverance. Some had concerns that the ring could have been pushed out with the tide. I squashed that theory and only spoke hope and encouragement into the situation.

Perhaps another hour and a half went by when I finished the entire parameter that we were working with. After Brandon finished throwing a fishing net off of his boat to see if he could catch some small bait (minnows) for his own fishing ventures, I gave my latest update to everyone. I told the family that it was time to look passed the area that they thought the ring may have sunk to the bottom and extend the search frame by another 10 yards or so. It was a good thing that I strategized that because Brandon’s father agreed to the plan because he thought that perhaps the volleyball net was set up a bit farther down than where the end markers were placed.

Approximately 15 minutes or so into the extended portion of the search zone, after getting multiple target signals and only coming up with trash and random coins, I got another potential signal that was coming in the number range that I had been hoping for. There was also a “scratchy” tone that I was listening to in my headphones. It appeared that there was some iron connected with this non-ferrous target. I didn’t give it much thought or added anticipation that it could be the ring, only because there were so many targets that were in that range and they mostly came out as bottle caps. I placed the scoop down below and after a few attempts to bring up the item, my eyes did a double take! At the bottom of the scoop, as the sand fell through the Xtreme Scoop’s titanium holes, I was left with seeing an extremely handsome piece of yellow gold which surrounded some type of rock inlay around the middle of the entire band! I did it! I found Brandon’s ring! It was his lost ring! I hardly could contain myself! It was such a grand moment for me! I couldn’t wait to surprise Brandon, Jessica and their parents! The couple was definitely sinking in despair (though they tried to hold on tight with whatever hope they could conjure up during those agonizing hours leading up to my discovery)! The search was over! I pulled the unique and rare wedding band from the bottom of the river and a very special story connected with this ring would be preserved for generations to come!

Ring Finder, Brian Rudolph and Brandon Celebrate the Amazing Recovery Results!

A Rainbow Appears in the Sky Following the Amazing Search and Recovery Efforts as Brandon and Jessica Return to the Docks. A Sign of Peace and Relief!

It would be impossible with words to share how very surprised and happy Brandon was when I shocked him out in the water that afternoon! The rest of his family was blown away, as well! It was an incredible experience for all of us and I couldn’t have been more happy for the couple! Brandon went straight for their cooler that was on board their boat and distributed beverages so we could make a toast to my fantastic finish! Then, we said our goodbyes to the parents, climbed aboard Brandon and Jessica’s sea vessel and headed back to the section of beach where I was originally picked up.
The celebration did not end back at the search site! After I packed up the car with all of the detector equipment, I was invited to meet up with the couple and their parents over by a local restaurant where we continued our party over food and drinks!

Brian and the Gang Partying Over the Successful Return of Brandon’s Incredible Custom Meteorite Gold Ring!

I will never forget how much fun that was from the moment that I boarded the couple’s boat along the beach shore until I said my final goodbyes to Brandon and Jessica! After treating me to a scrumptious lunch and fine company, they even went to the farthest extent of blessing me with a parting gift just to say thank you in one more way. With a big smile on his face, Brandon brought over to my car the four poles that were used to keep my grid lines within the parameter that I was working with! “Here, these are for you. Perhaps one day they’ll help you find someone else’s ring that might get lost in the water!” I gladly accepted the gift, thanked him several times over and then we parted ways. Since that day, those four poles have assisted me in successfully finding other lost rings for people that have had to deal with water searches just as Brandon hoped they would be helpful in assisting others with similar predicaments! I always think of that very sweet couple every time I utilize them! Thank you Brandon and Jessica for finding me through THE RING FINDERS website! I am so grateful to have been a part of such a happy story!

Wedding Band Lost on Ocean City, Maryland Beach…Found by Ring Finder

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Colby’s Family Heirloom Wedding Band Shining Once Again Like the Golden Sun!

Colby Couldn’t Be More Relieved as He Proudly Displays His Wedding Band!

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, SNOW, LEAVES, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

Colby, his wife Beth and family were all having lots of fun in Ocean City, Maryland, vacationing at the shore all week. Everything was going great until Colby got back to his parent’s beach house from being at the shore all day and realized his wedding band was missing.

Colby’s ring was incredibly special to him for a number of reasons. Even though this was not his original wedding band, it held great meaning because it had previously belonged to Colby’s grandfather who got married back in the 1950’s. When he passed away, Debbie (Colby’s mother) inherited it and gifted it to Colby when the poor guy lost his original wedding ring in the Atlantic (also in Ocean City) shortly after getting married. You could say he was in the “dog house” with both his wife and with his mother over this current disappearance of the band.

The family looked everywhere for the ring. When they retraced Colby’s steps from the time he entered the beach until pack up time, Colby realized what had happened.  He took the ring off for safe keeping (so that he didn’t lose another ring out in the water) and placed it in his beach chair’s rear pocket along with a few other items. Just before folding it up to leave the sand at the end of the day, he took the contents out from behind the chair but forgot that the ring was still in the pocket. Colby shook the chair to remove any excess sand and the ring must have dropped out of the piece of sand furniture.

Upon realizing what had happened to the ring, Colby rushed back to the beach, hoping his family heirloom ring was still somewhere in the sand. Without a metal detector it was impossible to find the 14 karat yellow gold band and so he and Colby’s family left the beach once more, but this time tensions were mounting. Mom was pretty upset over her dad’s ring being lost out there on the same beach just like the first ring.

It was at this point that Colby and family sought out some help on the internet. Their idea was to rent a metal detector in Ocean City, Maryland. But as they were looking up metal detector rentals, THE RING FINDERS international directory of metal detectorists popped up and a whole new search strategy took root. Colby and mother Debbie found me on the directory and immediately gave me a call.

I explained to the two of them that I provide metal detecting services for the Ocean City, Maryland area and I love helping people recover their lost rings and other valued items on the sand and in the water. Colby and Debbie thought it over and decided to use my services if they couldn’t find the band with a detector rental. I assured them that I was happy to assist in the search if Plan A failed.

As it turned out, renting a detector failed miserably! Colby couldn’t find his precious ring and the detector was making all kinds of dysfunctional bleeps that the frustrated fellow could not interpret. I received a second call from the family requesting my immediate help. Unfortunately, several hours had passed and nightfall was about to set in. Detectorists would be roaming the sand like pirates and the sandcomber machines would be picking up trash and lost property all the way down the beach. It was quite possible that the ring was already gone. Still, Colby begged for help and I responded immediately to his beacon call!

After traveling two and a half hours through the night to the east coast, I made it to the beach where Colby, Beth, their kids and mama Debbie were all hanging out waiting for me to arrive. I got my gear out and we immediately headed towards the surf. Colby showed me his ridiculous rental and then the location of where he was approximately sitting, as well as all of the territory he had detected with no happy results. That’s the point when I took over from there.

Once I got my detector set up for the type of environment that I was working with, I started the search nearest to the towel line (the place where most people lay their stuff closest to the slope). Colby noticed this and kindly reminded me that he didn’t think he was anywhere near that area and questioned why I would go that far from his presumed sitting spot which he pointed out to me. I explained to Colby that it was quite possible that when he shook out the sand from the chair, the ring could have gone flying much farther than what he predicted. I told him that us RING FINDERS search outside the box, outside the norm and that’s why we are so successful.

During that brief dialogue with Colby, I was making my way from north to south (parallel with the Atlantic shore), swinging the coil and listening for potential targets. Within 30 seconds of starting out, at the moment when Colby responded to my reasons for doing what I was doing, I hit a fabulous target signal on my Minelab Equinox 800 detector! I believe it was coming in as a 13 and 14 number on the screen. With my headlamp blazing towards the warm sand, I knelt down, pulled my Garrett Propointer out and narrowed in on my target. Then, I placed my hand down below the sand a few inches, and there it was – a very handsome men’s yellow gold wedding band – the classic style that never stops being worn by grooms! I was feeling such elation within! I had driven 2.5 hours to the beach and then the search that had begun less than a minute earlier was already over! I was correct in my judgement call. Colby, who had been with his family earlier that day about 35 feet inland from where I was searching, must have jerked the chair so quickly that the action caused the heirloom to fly far from the area that one would have expected the ring to have landed. My client was extremely fortunate that the night metal detectorists had not yet made their way to that part of the beach!

I made my way back over to Colby and then proceeded to shock the living daylights out of him! I excitedly shared the amazing news that his second wedding band that he had so unfortunately lost, this time it would be coming back to his ring finger once again! The Ring Hero struck gold once again and I could not have been more happier for my very kind new friend who was beyond blown away by what I was able to return back to him so quickly!

Metal Detecting Lost Diamond Ring in Arlington, Virginia…Found on Soccer Field

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Mary’s Elegant and Most Sentimental Family Heirloom Dinner Ring!

Mary and Chris Show Off Their Priceless Diamond Ring That Had Gone Missing for Over Three Days!

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, SNOW, LEAVES, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

Mary was out near a soccer field in Arlington, Virginia when she lost her very special white gold diamond dinner ring that had once belonged to her mother 10 years earlier. It had been in the family for nearly a hundred years! The ring held a 2 carat center diamond surrounded by 16 smaller diamonds (8 on each side) equaling approximately another 2.5 carats.

As Mary was putting on her soccer gloves on the grass while leaning up against a tree, she noticed that she was wearing her mother’s beloved dinner ring that meant so much to her. She inherited the sentimental keepsake a decade earlier and didn’t want to lose it.

Not wanting to wear the ring while playing her favorite sport, Mary took off her jewelry and placed the ring in her soccer bag that was on the ground beside her. Then, not feeling comfortable with her decision, instead, she chose to give the dinner ring to her coach for safekeeping. Mary reached into her bag, pulled out the ring, squeezed it between her gloved fingers and proceeded to walk 40 feet up a small hill in the direction of where the coach was standing.

Just as Mary was about to give the ring to the coach, she realized that the ring was no longer between her fingers. The perplexed woman searched everywhere but she couldn’t find her cherished piece of jewelry anywhere. After the other soccer players had finished on the field, she called her teammates over to help search for the missing ring. 10 players in all got down on their hands and knees with the hope of finding the family heirloom, but sadly no one was able to bring relief to this terribly upset woman.

Over the course of the next three days, Mary, her teammates, friends and husband all searched over 8.5 hours and nothing turned up. Chris (Mary’s spouse) tried finding the ring with a metal detector. His idea was to test another white gold ring before taking it out to the field to search for the missing ring. Once he recorded the numbers on the detector screen, he used a rented Garrett Ace 300 in his quest to uncover the family heirloom. Unfortunately, when he came to the field to search for the ring, he just couldn’t find it anywhere. He said he was getting “a lot of false alarms”. The target numbers were jumping all over the place and he couldn’t make any sense of what he was hearing and seeing on the machine’s screen. Chris gave up after hours of detecting and discovering nothing but frustration.

This is the part of the story when I come in to the scene. While I was diving for a lost ring in Baltimore, Maryland, I received Mary’s phone call requesting help in finding her lost ring. She found my information while Googling “how to find a lost ring in the grass”. She found The Ring Finders website which pointed her towards my metal detecting service in Arlington, Virginia. I was on a break when Mary went over all of the details with me and I told her that I would be happy to help her in any way possible. She told me that she would continue searching for the ring during the night and if she still couldn’t find it, she would request my assistance. Well, as it turned out, Mary and Chris had no positive news for me and so I scheduled with the couple to meet them out at the Arlington, Virginia soccer field later that night.

As soon as I arrived at the park sometime around 10pm, I immediately had the couple walk me through all of Mary’s steps from start to finish. Then, I got my gear out of my vehicle and began the search. I gave Mary and Chris all the confidence in the world that if the ring was still out there in the grass, I would surely be able to find it for them.

I first started near the sidewalk and grid searched the section where Mary put her gloves on. There were a lot of opposing signals due to all of the metal just below the surface, so I swung my coil slowly and methodically. The ring wasn’t anywhere in that particular area.

Next, I searched the section of grass leading up the hill in the direction of the soccer field. Still, there was no diamond ring to be discovered – just a lot of trash. My next plan of action was to detect the area where the soccer field sideline was located. I gridded back and forth, hoping to get the signal that would point me down towards the ring. Still, nothing turned up.

My last area to search was a section that was a bit farther away from where Mary and Chris had pointed out all of the possible places where the ring may have gotten lost. It really was the last piece of turf for me to scan before having to do a perpendicular grid and start the search process all over again.

Though I didn’t use my traditional grid line method with special markers, I knew that my imaginary lines were accurate and precise. These were small sections of property where Mary may have dropped the ring so I really didn’t need the cones or tapes.

As Mary and Chris made additional comments and suggestions in the background, I continued swinging the 15 inch coil at the end of my machine until I hit a really good sound and number on the detector. I had analyzed many different targets prior to this one, but this particular one got me excited! There’s nothing like the moment when you hear a familiar signal from past searches, then kneel down to investigate further and there the little guy appears between the blades of grass, stacks of leaves or granules of sand! That is what was about to happen once again at that particular moment! I took my pinpointer out to ‘question the “suspect” ‘ and zoom in on the excellent signal. And yes, there deep in the grass, my handheld detector led me right to the most beautiful piece of white gold and spectacular diamonds! I couldn’t have been happier for my client! I found the jewel! It was approximately 10 to 15 feet farther over from where Mary pointed out her original whereabouts. Thankfully, the ring had not been spotted by a stranger and taken away! The family heirloom was still there after 3 days, settled at the bottom of the grass and desperately waiting for its rescue!

I carefully picked up the ring, placed it in my pocket for safe keeping and then excitedly made my way towards the couple to surprise them with the most wonderful news! Believe me, Mary’s excitement was completely off the charts! Chris was in a state of disbelief! The two of them celebrated with me the return of this incredible piece of jewelry that had an irreplaceable story attached to it! I’m sure that that soccer field never witnessed such a cheer from the three of us on that unforgettable summer night as we all embraced and gave thanks to the Lord for the return of such a priceless heirloom!

Lost iPhone in Baltimore, Maryland…Found by Diver in Middle River

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Tim’s iPhone 11 Once Again Back on Shore…And still works!

Tim and Chrissy Beyond Relieved that Tim’s Valuable Smartphone was Recovered by Diver Brian Rudolph

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, SNOW, LEAVES, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

While I was diving for a lady’s engagement ring and wedding band in the Middle River at Maryland Marina, located in Middle River, Maryland, a gentleman named Tim had lost his iPhone 11 off his boat nearby.

Tim walked up to my dive spotter, Jason, while I was underwater and asked him if he could chat with me. Once I ascended to the surface, Tim explained to me that he was stepping onto his boat on the other side of the marina when his iPhone fell out of his pocket and dropped down into the water.

The distraught gentleman then asked if I was available sometime during the day to dive in his boat slip and attempt a search and recovery of Tim’s lost smartphone. I was happy to help the fellow out.

As it turned out, my dive time was cut short that day based on the quantity of boats that were coming into port that afternoon. So, after packing up my gear, Jason and I hauled my dive equipment over to Tim’s slip to setup for my next search.

When I got over to Tim’s boat, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that he was dating a woman named Chrissy whose family owned the marina. I had already connected with her very kind father because of needing permissions to dive at the marina. Chrissy’s family members have been extremely supportive and encouraging regarding my recovery operations off their docks.

Once I got all of my gear back on, I stepped onto the swim deck of Tim’s fantastic boat and descended down his boat ladder. Next, I grabbed my underwater metal detector from the deck and headed down below to seek out the gentleman’s smartphone.

Tim, Chrissy, Jason and two other friends of the couple waited above with anticipation as I searched the water below. The depth was less than 10 feet with zero visibility (very common in the Maryland and Virginia areas).

I used a down line that Tim supplied which we tied to one of his tie offs on his boat closest to where he dropped the phone. This helped me to remain oriented as to where I was positioned down below. After picking up a few random pieces of metal that I detected with my Excalibur 2 metal detector, I encountered an excellent signal that sounded similar to other cell phones that I had previously found in the deep.

Convinced that this particular signal could very well be Tim’s iPhone, I took out my pinpointer and detected the exact location of where the target signal was coming from. Then, I reached with my hands to grab the object and it was at that moment that I was confident I had found the missing phone! The shape of the target felt like a smartphone and it also had the weight of one as well! Carefully, I ascended towards the surface with the item in hand.

Before the others could even see my dive mask, they saw the phone in hand as I slowly emerged from the water! There was a resounding applause and a huge feeling of complete relief felt by Tim and Chrissy! They were extremely grateful for my successful recovery of the phone!

I was so happy to recover Tim’s very important piece of property! The best part of the story is that after the phone had been submerged underwater for 6 hours, it still worked perfectly! Once news of the recovery hit the ears of the owner of the marina (Chrissy’s dad), I was proud to have earned a few extra points with Chrissy’s dad, the owner of Maryland Marina!

What a wonderful afternoon it was to help out this very sweet couple!

Lost Gold Wedding Band…Found in Bay at Fenwick Island, Delaware

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Tyler’s Handsome 14 Karat Gold Wedding Band Raised Up From the Depths of Fenwick Island’s Bay!

Tyler Beyond Thrilled as He Shows Off His Most Special 14 Karat Gold Wedding Band Once Again!

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, SNOW, LEAVES, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from a young man named Tyler who lost his 14 karat yellow gold wedding band in the bay at Fenwick Island, Delaware. He saw the ring fly into the water as he was applying sunscreen lotion just before taking the boat out with his wife and family for an all day cruise.

When Tyler realized that he needed to call for a professional metal detectorist in the Fenwick Island area, he searched online and found THE RING FINDERS – an international directory of metal detectorists who specialize in recovering lost rings for people around the world.

I was so happy to talk with Tyler and once I got the story of what happened to his ring, we set up an early morning appointment the following day. I left my house at 3:30am to arrive in Fenwick Island, Delaware by 7am and then meet up with Tyler by 8am. Once I arrived at Tyler’s beach house located on the bay side, he took me around back and showed me his personal dock where the boat was tied up. He had moved the vessel over to another slip so that I was able to easily work near the location where the wedding band went into the water.

Tyler showed me the exact spot where the ring disappeared into the 5 feet of water below, next to a piling. I told the young man that I would get my equipment and get the party started.

Within a few minutes, I was back out on the dock, testing the water for any live electricity with my Shock Alarm. Everything was safe and ready for me to then adjust my detector to the correct settings to help my efforts in finding the sentimental keepsake.

With my wetsuit and detecting harness on and my sand scoop and waterproof metal detector in hand, I jumped into the water off of the dock and started my search for Tyler’s ring.

Slowly and methodically, I swung the detector coil from left to right seeking out the most credible target signals in the area where Tyler saw the ring enter the water. There were all kinds of pieces of metal down below and I had to determine which signals to investigate and others to ignore.

Within a couple of minutes, a fantastic target signal registered on my screen and sounded through my headphones. The only problem was that the piece of metal was resting very close to the piling that was in the corner of the slip. I wasn’t sure if I could capture the item in my scoop or not, yet I was determined to give it all of my effort to see exactly what it was.

After several attempts to scoop up the particular target that I was after, I waived the detector over the area near the piling and curiously, I no longer could hear the signal anymore. Though I was a bit pessimistic that the item was in my amazing Xtreme X3 titanium sand scoop developed and manufactured by Ring Finder member John Volek, I still sifted through the silt and mud that remained in the scoop just to make sure. To my greatest surprise, I took notice of a handsome piece of yellow gold shining in the middle of the remaining silt in the scoop! I did it! I found Tyler’s missing gold wedding band! I was able to successfully recover it from the depths of the Fenwick Island Bay!

I was absolutely taken back at that moment as I picked up the ring from within the scoop! All of the family that were hanging out on the second floor screened-in balcony cheered me on as I waived the ring in the air from within the water and then excitedly handed it back to its proper owner!

Seeing how happy this moment made Tyler and his wife Sarah was worth the 3 hour journey to the beach and then another 3 hours inland to my next client! Helping others recover their lost treasures and sentimental keepsakes like I did for this couple is something so special to be a part of! I consider this happy ending story for Tyler and Sarah to be my lost treasure found…another smile recovered!

Gold Wedding Band Lost at Silver Spring Maryland Party…Found by Ring Finder

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Yanatan’s Classic 14 Karat Gold Wedding Band Shining Bright Once Again!

Yanatan’s Friend Nadu Showing Off the Sentimental Piece of Gold!

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, SNOW, LEAVES, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a text from a woman named Betty who was contacting me on behalf of her friend Yanatan. The gentleman lost his 14 karat yellow gold wedding band at a party one night in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Betty shared with me that there were a bunch of people hanging out on a second floor deck in the back of a friend’s house, drinking and enjoying each other’s company. Yanatan’s ring slipped off of his finger and landed on the deck floor while having fun amongst friends. When he went to pick up the very special keepsake, the ring somehow slipped into a gap between two floor boards and disappeared below.

At first, Yanatan and Betty searched  for the ring with their phone lights at the ground level below the deck. When they couldn’t find what they thought to have been quite easy to recover, the entire house party became an official search party!

With five people looking everywhere for the missing wedding band, everyone’s kind and concerned efforts could not turn the search into a celebration in the end. The yellow classic gold wedding ring was still out there… somewhere.

This is the chapter in the story when I come into the picture. Betty looked online to see if she could find a metal detector rental service in Silver Spring, Maryland. Instead of locating a rental outlet, Betty stumbled upon an article about THE RING FINDERS, an international directory of metal detectorists who specialize in finding lost rings. Immediately intrigued, she called me and shared the story of what happened to her friend’s ring. We agreed that if her friend couldn’t find the band with a metal detector, I would be scheduled to visit the house.

As it turned out, even with the assistance of a detector and an added day of looking, still nothing turned up. So, the following day I arrived at the Silver Spring house. I greeted the owner of the place named Nadu who was the one who threw the party three days earlier. He felt bad that his friend Yanatan had lost his ring somewhere in his backyard under the deck.

First, I was taken behind the house and under the deck that was located on the second floor of the house. This made the search very easy because I was able to do all of my detecting standing straight up. There was no need for crawling under tight spaces.

I returned to the car, retrieved my gear and then immediately started the search. I metal detected all around the ground underneath the deck, hoping I could solve the mystery as to where the wedding band had ended up.

The 14 Karat Gold Wedding Band “Halo” Spotted by Brian’s Metal Detector and Eyes!

Well, as it happened, the entire search only took less than a minute (if even that much time) to find the lost treasure! I finished my quick grid lines and was then searching closer to the side areas below the deck, near some patches of grass and dirt. About the same moment that I heard and viewed a promising signal on my machine, I saw the golden halo that I had hoped to find! It was pushed straight down into the ground with just a little bit of the rim of the band showing! The search was already over just shortly after it had begun!

Apparently, someone at the party that night who was helping to search for the ring under the deck, accidentally stepped on the ring and pushed it far enough into the ground so that it made it much more difficult to be identified. In addition to that, unless one had some experience with a metal detector and set tge settings correctly, it would have been difficult for the ring to be recovered.

I was thrilled to surprise Nadu and his wife Mary who couldn’t believe where I spotted the missing ring! They ended up contacting Betty and Yanatan to let them know that the mystery had been solved and that Yanatan was getting his very special ring back soon enough!
