Lost Gold Necklace Recovered Minnesota Metal Detecting

  • from Twin Cities Metro (Minnesota, United States)

Sam gave me a call and was wondering if theringfinders.com could help out when losing a gold necklace in 10 – 20 feet deep water, with a bunch of weeds and muck at the bottom. I said of course, we always give it our best shot no matter what. As most detectorists know, necklaces are very hard to find with a metal detector. Necklaces are thin and for some reason, they don’t register at all or are very faint. Sam knew the area he lost it in and he put me in a 25′ X 25′ area with a drop off from 8′ to 20′ deep. I made a plan to clean every piece of metal out of that area and then try to find the gold chain. It took me roughly one and half hours to clean it out and then I started my search. With no hits on the detector for 20 minutes, I received a faint hit. I went back over the area with my Excalibur detector and figured it was not just a false hit “we get a lot of false hits metal detecting.” I started to push my coil further down into the muck and zeroed in on the hit. After a little digging I felt something different in my hand than muck and weeds, I waved my hand in front of my detector and heard that nice deep tone of gold.  Another success story, which I love to write!!!!

Congrats on the necklace Sam, I know how important it is to you.

Take Care –

Lost Ring Recovered Minnesota Metal Detecting

  • from Twin Cities Metro (Minnesota, United States)

I received a call from Carrie, she was wondering if I was able to find a ring that was lost decades ago. I told her I could certainly give it a shot. I’ve found many lost valuables from the late 1800’s all the up to 2025. She said her Dad had lost a ring in the yard back in the 1970’s. I checked out the address. Carrie’s Mom & Dad had built this house in 1971 and I knew that anything I would find in the yard is certainly theirs. We set up a day & time for the search and I met up with Carrie’s mom, Judy. Judy told me that her husband had lost a ring while planting trees in the backyard when they first built the home. She showed me the area in question and I went to “work”. After finding a few coins, old nails/washers and a little trash, the whole backyard was cleaned out and free of any metal objects. I thought about Judy’s husband planting trees and what else could have caused his ring to come off. There is a double chain link gate leading to the backyard from the side yard. If he was carrying the trees, he’d have to set the trees down and open the gate for access. So, I started detecting the side yard and got a nice hit on my detector right away. About 3 inches down in the dirt shined a beautiful silver Trinity Knot ring. The Trinity Knot is a Celtic symbol meaning endless Love through the Father/Son/Holy Spirit.

Judy, it was truly a pleasure chatting and spending time with you. I’m so happy I found that ring and hope it brings you joyful memories of your late husband.

Carrie, thanks for contacting me and giving me another great ring find memory.

Take Care and God Bless!

Paul lost his wedding ring while helping a neighbor dig out of a snowstorm a couple years ago. As his anniversary was coming up, he browsed the internet for help finding his lost ring. He found theringfinders.com and gave me a call. It was a really quick recovery as the ring was on the side of his driveway just under the surface of the ground. He figured after helping his neighbor, he was walking up his drive and removed his gloves, causing the ring to come off. Congrats on the recovery Paul, it was nice talking with you and your family. Take Care.
