I got a text message in regards to a lost gold wedding band in South Surrey at a rugby field. After talking to the young man on the phone it turned out I wasn’t going to have to search a whole rugby field because he handed the ring to his coach to hold and unfortunately during the first half the ring is no longer in his coaches pocket…

His coach did not tell his player he had lost the ring until after the game. The coach spent the whole second half looking all over the sidelines for the ring, but unfortunately could not find it. He had to break the news to the player after the game. The whole team got together, joined arms and grid searched the area where his coach had spent most of this time during the first half.

Unfortunately, no luck, someone had mentioned to call TheRingFinders and he did.  After talking to the player and asking all my questions and setting up a time to meet the coach the next morning so he could show me all the areas to search. This became a huge challenge, unfortunately, he spent some time on half of one field warming up the team, then the other half of on the game field, along the sidelines behind the uprights and on the other side.

He did not know where the ring came out or when it came out of his pocket, but we did know it would’ve been when he pulled out his phone because it was in the same pocket. He told me he had pulled his phone out many times checking how much time was left in the game so this made the search area huge.

I spent 8 1/2 hours the first day grid searching areas he had showed me, but no luck, fortunately the caretakers for the rugby house came out and asked what I was doing, I told him I was looking for a lost ring for a rugby player. He asked what time his game was and I said I believe it was the last game of the day,  he told me that they have recorded footage of all the game and said maybe I should ask the coach or player to check the game footage and see where the coach was during the first half, and when he pulled his phone out.

This was a tremendous help as it put me in an area the coach forgot he was in, the next day after one and a half hours of searching bingo! I found his beautiful ring and helped continue this beautiful story of what it meant to him to get it back. I contacted his coach and I could tell he was so relieved and happy. I can only imagine how gutted he must’ve felt even though technically it wasn’t his fault. Things happens!

Why rent a metal detector when you can hire a metal detecting specialist…

I recieved a call from a young man who told me he had lost his wedding ring on the side of the street possibly in the snow. He was inquiring about my services, he told me he had rented a metal detector and was going back to look for it,  I just said when you’re done and if you can’t find it, call me and I’ll be happy to come out and find it for you. He said he looked for close to four hours the day before, and he would put it away and wait for me to come out as he was pretty much done with the rental detector.

I adjusted my day switched a search over and headed to his location as it was more important because it was in a public area where somebody may be able to find it before I got there, even though there’s snow, it could’ve landed on the sidewalk or road for anyone to see. When I got there, I met William and he told me his feelings on where the ring should’ve been and I could see his spent a lot of time searching in the area as the snow was almost completely melted where he had been looking.

He had to go back to his place so I started to search and just before I got going a young lady stopped with her kids and asked me if that was a metal detector. I said yes and I was out there looking for someone who had lost their wedding. She said do you make house calls and I said absolutely, she told me that her husband had just lost his wedding band the night before making a snowman for his kids in the backyard. I told her that once I was done finding this ring I would head on over to her place to find her husband’s ring.

Back to Williams lost ring…After 20 minutes of grid searching I found the ring in an area where he did not look, it few backwards quite a distance into a hedge where it wedged into the leaves and dirt hidden from view. It was so nice to surprise him with his ring when he came back, and it was a beautiful ring with mountains and a diamond for the sun or stars very unique… He was such a nice young man, and loved his wife so much. It was such an honour as they all are to be able to find and reconnect these people with these beautiful and sentimental items.

Lost diamond ring found in Chilliwack, BC

I received a call the other day from a young man who said his wife had lost her diamond wedding band in their backyard while she was suntanning. I was already on a long search for a lost ring in Richmond, I told him when I wrap this up I would give him a call. Three hours later I phoned John to discuss the search in his backyard, I found out he lived in Chilliwack which is about two hour drive from my location.

Knowing the ring was lost in the backyard I was confident I would find it, however I have been fooled before, some searches you think are going to be easy turn out to be the hardest. When I made it to his place., John greeted me and show me the area his wife was suntanning, it wasn’t a very big backyard and I knew in the back of my mind that it could be a fast recovery. John told me that his wife put both of her rings in a book as a bookmark while she was suntanning and reading, somehow the wedding band fell out of the book and into the grass.

John and his wife felt the ring could be at the last spot she was tanning, they spent many hours on their hands and knees searching the grass, but no it wasn’t there. I extended the search out and back around the corner and found her beautiful diamond wedding band just inches beneath the grass, but not visible. These rings find ways to hide so easily and make it so hard for people to find without the use of a proper metal detector and an experienced operator.

Lost Keys in South Surrey…Found

Keys may not hold any sentimental value like a ring would, but they’re very valuable items these days!  One key alone could cost hundreds of dollars to replace for these newer vehicles and then the fob/alarm can be very expensive.

Heaven forbid you only had one key and now you have to get your ignition and door locks changed…That was not the case for this search, but it has happened.

I received a call from a young man that wanted me to search an old school field across the street from where he lived. He told me that the keys could have fell out of his pocket when he was cutting across the field over a week ago.

The school had been closed for some time now and the field was over grown with long grass…(A great place for keys to hide) He feared that someone may find the keys and because it had a trade mark symbol on them… The person who found them could walk up to his truck  open the door and drive away.

Well he showed me the area where he remembered cutting through the field and it took me 15 minutes of grid searching to locate them.

Even when I got a signal with my detector I couldn’t see the keys until I separated the grass. He was very happy to get them back and I met his lovely family,  his young daughter had a metal detector and searched for her dad’s keys a week earlier.

When I showed her where I found the keys her face lit up and she said that she was very close to that area when she was searching…I wish she could’ve found the keys for her dad as she told me she wanted so bad to find them…
