Lost Ring Branchburg, NJ… Found!!!

  • from Millburn (New Jersey, United States)
Not every ring is lost by accident… sometimes, it’s the result of a moment of frustration. 😬💍
After a heated argument, one ring took an unexpected flight. Tossed over a fence and landing somewhere deep inside a group of forsythia bushes. What looked like a simple shrub from the outside turned out to be a full-on thicket, tangled, overgrown, and not exactly welcoming. 🌿
Enter Greenwood Detecting.
Kati arrived on scene and got to work, quite literally diving into the brush. She carefully worked her way through what can only be described as a wiry, unforgiving tangle of branches with her pinpointer(the detector wouldn’t fit), while also doing her best to dodge patches of poison ivy along the way. 😅🌱
To help narrow things down, the husband tossed a small rock over the fence, recreating the throw as best as possible. That gave her a key reference point and helped lock in the most likely search zone. 🎯
About an hour into a challenging and very hands-on search… success. The pinpointer hit the right tone, and the ring was recovered deep within the thicket, right where it had been hiding all along. 💍✨
Fights happen. Rings get thrown. It’s WAY more common than you’d think.
That’s why Greenwood Detecting is here, to help bring them back.
Another tough recovery.
Another story with a happy ending. 🙌

Newlywed’s Engagement Ring Recovered After Weeks Missing in Backyard
There’s something extra special about helping a newlywed recover a lost engagement ring — especially when they’ve only been married three months.
I received a call from a young lady named Kendall who was understandably upset. Her engagement ring had been missing for about two to three weeks. She had lost it somewhere in her backyard and despite searching multiple times, it was nowhere to be found.
Like many people would, Kendall and her husband decided to take matters into their own hands. They purchased a metal detector and carefully searched the yard themselves. Unfortunately, without experience using the equipment — and not knowing exactly what signals to listen for — they had no luck locating the ring.
After weeks of frustration, they turned to the internet for help. That’s when they came across The Ring Finders and found my name, Phillip Mendez, listed as a local ring finder. They reached out, hopeful but understandably nervous.
When I arrived, Kendall showed me the areas where she believed the ring might have slipped off. Newly landscaped yards and thick grass can easily hide a small gold band, even in plain sight. After listening carefully to her story and narrowing down the most likely zones, I began a methodical grid search.
About 30 minutes later, I got a strong, clean signal.
Just beneath the surface of the grass was Kendall’s engagement ring.
The look on her face when she saw it again — pure relief and joy — is why I do what I do. Three months into marriage is far too soon to replace a ring filled with memories and meaning. Being able to reunite her with the exact ring that marked the beginning of her forever was incredibly rewarding.
If you’ve lost something valuable — especially a sentimental item like an engagement ring — don’t give up hope. Even after weeks outside, rings can still be found with the right equipment and experience.
Another happy ending, and another reminder that sometimes the right search makes all the difference.

Lost Diamond Ring in Maple Ridge…Found in Back Yard!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I received a call this morning from a young man who said his wife lost her diamond engagement ring in the backyard while playing baseball with their daughter.  He said his wife was very  upset and concerned that the ring was lost for good. After discussing the search and what it entailed I decided to go after work to search for her ring.I met with his wife and she showed me the area where she thought the ring many have been lost. It was a very large back yard and the grass was long enough to hide a ring with no problem, after talking to the young lady I had a pretty good idea where I was going to start my search. She told me that she searched with her husband for over an hour and a half with a rake and just eyeballing the area to see if they could get lucky and find the ring…but no luck… She also told me that she hardly slept the night before knowing that her ring was lost and she may never find it.Its amazing how emotional it is for the person who has lost that sentimental item and the thought that it may never be found.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWell it only took 15 minutes in the pouring rain and dark to find her lost diamond ring… it’s the greatest feeling when your detector sounds off and you look down and part the grass and see that persons cherished item looking back up at you …knowing with excitement that it will make that person’s day when you hold it up and show them!OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA This is the 700th recorded ring found for The Ring Finders Directory!
