Newlywed’s Wedding Band is Lost in Rough Currents And Found With Metal Detector

Noah’s wife reached out to me saying her husband “had lost his ring at Emerald Isle and was very upset”. After getting a few details, I headed over as quickly as I could to the public access they were visiting.  When I arrived at the beach, strong waves were driving a powerful current along the sloped shoreline, and high tides were breaking over the slope, making the search tough. After a few passes in the water with no luck, I spotted Noah farther west in the water. He waved for me to try where he was, and just after he moved to shore, BAM! My XP Deus II gave a loud, clear 76 signal. The current was so strong that when I pulled my scoop from the sandy bottom, all the sand washed away, leaving only Noah’s large gold wedding band.

Lindsay lost her earring while playing volleyball at the beach. I let her know I would be right over to help her in the search.

I got there, and she showed me where she had been playing. It was a very small earring, so I changed the program on my detector to find very small items, and began my search. After about 10 minutes of searching a very clean patch of sand, I received a solid signal, dug, and found the earring, which she was happy to have back.

Half of Pendants Lost in the Ocean Have Been Found Along North Carolina Shores

Emerald Isle, NC – Heather was swimming with her mother in chest deep water when she wanted to swipe some seaweed from her swim top.  Unfortunately, it was her gold necklace with 2 golden pendants attached that she snagged.  The chain broke and the charms disappeared.  Her mother posted on social media about the missing charms including a picture of a gold horn and gold cross.

After searching the area, I managed to dig up the golden horn and unfortunately after 4 attempts, have not found the golden cross.  Heather was thankful for getting the horn returned and hopefully we will meet one more time for her to retrieve her gold cross!

Damian contacted me about a ring he had lost 3 days prior. I let him know that I would do the search, but that with the passage of time the recovery opportunity diminishes. He agreed to do the search, but would not be able to meet me there. He gave concise directions to the area he believed the loss to have occurred, a very well traveled area, and I was on my way.

When I arrived, and looked the area over, the sand was untouched for most of the area he had given me. But I could tell that the county had groomed part of the area I would be searching with their machines. I began furthest from the groomed area, and made a tight grid working my way out. Finding mostly tin foil, bottle caps and some coins, the haul was normal. I was getting close to the machine cleaned area, when on the edge, received a good signal, dug, and had a ring. I took a picture of it, and sent it in a text to Damian to see if I found his ring. He assured me this was the one. I wanted to get it back to him as soon as possible, so He gave me his home address where his wife was there to receive it. Like I tell people, there is always hope. You just never know.

Lindsey called after having lost her two gold rings in the sand at the beach. She knew the area, and it happened earlier in the day, so I knew there was a good chance of making a recovery. I let her know I would get there as soon as I could to increase the possibility of a successful search.

When I got to the beach, it was already dark, but I assured Lindsey that if she could get me close to the area of the loss I should be able to find them. She walked me over to the area she had been in, and within 10 minutes, I was able to hand her back the rings that had a very high significance in her life. This was a great search.

Ring lost at Mission Bay found

Kai put his rings in his pocket before playing smash ball on the beach at Mission Bay. After playing, he realized that sometime during the game his rings escaped his pocket and were now in the sand somewhere. One was found, but, the other eluded the search. He gave me a call, but, I was over an hour away celebrating the 4th at a friend’s house. I agreed to do the search after I got home later that night. Kai headed home, but, sent me a map and address of where they were staying and playing. After fighting all the beach traffic, I managed to get to the search area about 12:45am. An hour of gridding later, and no ring, I walked over to where his friends were staying to see if anyone was still up that could help narrow the search area. Sure enough, even though Kai had gone home, a friend of his was still there at the air B&B. I was then shown the spot where smash ball was being played and I found the ring a short time later at 2am. I texted Kai and planned on re-uniting him with his ring later that day. As you can see, Kai was very happy to get his ring back! a pleasure meeting you and thank you for the reward.

VolleyBall Court Recovery in Waukegan, Il

Received a call from a woman who lost her 22K gold family heirloom ring while playing volleyball at the Waukegan Municipal Beach volleyball courts. It was a beautiful, large ring, which made it a fairly easy recovery. Nothing beats returning a treasured family heirloom to its rightful owners. One very happy family!

SOUTHPAW LOSES WEDDING BAND WHILE TOSSING FOOTBALL

While vacationing with friends, Joshua was tossing a football when his gold wedding band slipped off and disappeared into the sand. He marked the spot and quickly contacted Crystal Coast Ring Finders. Arriving promptly, I began searching along the waves and mentioned to Joshua that, given the soft sand, I didn’t expect to find any older items and suspected his ring would be my first discovery. Sure enough, just a few steps in, my XP Deus II gave a strong 74 signal, and one scoop later, his ring was back in hand.

Wedding Band Recovery on San Luis Obispo Beach

Adam reached out to see if we could find his lost wedding band. Adam and his buddies were throwing a football in the surf zone.  His ring slipped off at some point.   He let us know of the general area to search.  When I arrived at the beach, my buddy Matt was already there detecting, the south side.  I asked him if he wanted to help with the recovery. We started gridding the area.  A couple pull tabs, can slaw, and loose change was all we were finding.  Then BOOM.  Matt hit it! Ring Recovered!

Gold Ring Recovered from Geneva Lake in Fontana, WI

Wedding Ring Recovered from Geneva Lake in Fontana, WI

Raul and his family were enjoying a day at the beach in Fontana, WI when his 14K gold wedding band was lost.  His family spent time in the grass, on the sand, and in the water.  Fontana beach is quite large, so narrowing down the search area was key.

On my way out I texted two fellow detectorists who may have been detecting this beach letting them know I was on a search and “Did they find any gold rings at Fontana’s beach in the last two days?”  “No,” was the reply.  When I arrived, another detectorist was in the water.  I waded out to Tony and asked the same question.  “No, only a quarter so far.”

       Raul patiently answered all of my questions as we worked to pinpoint the most likely spot he would have lost it.  I marked off the edges of my search area in the sand and waded into the shallow water to make my first pass.  Dragging my search coil slowly over the sand, overlapping, so as not to miss anything, I had a strong repeating signal around the third or fourth pass.  I knelt down in the water and waved away the topmost layer of sand in the spot where my detector indicated a target.  Half of the ring appeared like a golden smile.  I picked it up and held it up to Raul who was standing on the shoreline.  

It was the first and only target I dug that morning.  Raul carefully thought through all of my questions and that led to our success in finding the ring.

After a few photos, it was back on his hand and his smile said it all.

        Later, Raul made a kind post on the Lake Geneva Lake Life Facebook group.  He writes: “A huge thank you to Seth for helping recover something that means so much to me and my family.  We are incredibly grateful!”
