Johannes, Anna, their three children Filippa, Jakob, and Oshar were visiting Longboat Key for a Christmas vacation from Sweden. Johannes knew that his wedding ring was very loose and needed to be resized and had vowed to not wear it to the beach. On the day after Christmas he forgot all this and found himself out on the beach tossing a football back and forth with his son Jakob. He was standing right on the edge of the dry sand where the waves came up lapping at his feet. As he reached out to catch the ball he saw his ring slide off his finger and into the wet sand. He and about 30 other hotel guests spent an hour trying to find the ring and then someone suggested he contact SRARC ring finders. He googled the ring finders and found Howard Mets who contacted Mike Miller. Mike made arrangements with Johannes to meet and a couple of hours later he arrived at the hotel. Johannes and Anna met him at the lobby and let him to where they believed the ring would be. Earlier they had drawn a line in the sand pointing to where they believed the ring was. Mike lined up with the mark in the sand, took about five steps out into the water and hit a target. With one scoop, up came the ring and Mike turned and started walking back to the dry sand. Johannes couldn’t believe that it might have been found but when Mike extended the scoop and he looked inside there sat his ring. He his family and the whole beach erupted in cheers. We took pictures and with smiles on everyone’s face return to the hotel lobby and sat down for a happy visit with this wonderful family. What a Christmas joy to see the smiles on their faces and have a chance to meet new friends from across the pond.

Her husband Louis, found SRARC ring finders on the Internet and contacted Joe Szemer. Joe contacted Mike Miller and arrangements were made for a hunt the next morning. Mike arrived about 8:00 AM, got directions and about 20 minutes later up came the wedding rings. Jessica and family were up from Venice, Fl to visit with her sister Laura and family living on Anna Maria Island. Laura and her family will soon be leaving for an extended trip to France so on Sunday afternoon both family’s headed to down the block to the beach to enjoy some time on the sand and playing in the Gulf. Jessica took both her engagement and wedding ring off and stored them safely in her shorts pocket. At some point in the afternoon, Jessica and Laura decided to play teenage girls again and started doing cartwheels up and down the beach. As evening approached they all packed up and headed for home. As they walked off the Beach Jessica reached into her pocket to get her rings and terror struck her heart. Nothing was in her pocket. They all returned to the beach and searched but soon realized it was fruitless since they didn’t have any real idea when the rings had been lost. Jessica’s husband googled lost and found Anna Maria Island and the SRARC ring finders popped up. Jessica was soon in touch with Joe Szemer who contacted Mike Miller. Mike made arrangements to meet with Laura the next morning to do the hunt. Laura staked out the area where they had been and Mike went to work. After about 45 minutes Mike got a hit and took a scoop of sand and dumped it out of the scoop. Right away he saw a shiny white gold object reflected in the sun. He motioned Laura over and pointed. Laura excitedly kneeled down and recovered the engagement ring. She then looked up at Mike and said “ There is another ring”. Mike took a swing over the same sand pile and then pinpointed the spot for her. She reached into the sand and up came the wedding ring. She couldn’t believe we had found them and instantly called her sister with the great news. Jessica was already in route from Venice in hopes the rings would be found and began crying as she received the good news. Mike was invited in for coffee while we waited for Jessica to arrive. After she arrived and the rings had been returned we all sat around the table and had a great conversation about their whole families adventures in moving from France to the USA. I want to welcome them all to the USA and thank them for their kind treatment of me. Most of all I loved to see the BIG SMILES on their faces as we parted ways.

Josh and his brother Luke were down from Canada to visit their cousins. They decided to visit Clearwater Beach, and after a round of football in the water, Josh realized that his custom-made class ring was no longer on his finger! He went to talk to the lifeguard, who provided him with the contact info for the Suncoast Research and Recovery Club, SRARC.com. While Josh kept a close eye on the area of the suspected loss, Bill Gallant and Mike Shuler loaded up and rushed to Clearwater Beach. They met up with Josh, who directed the hunters into the water, which was now shoulder-deep because of the incoming tide. Within 15 minutes, Josh was looking into the sand scoop at the ring he admitted he had very little hope of seeing again! This was the last day of Josh’s visit, so we’re glad SRARC could help him enjoy the rest of his time here, and return home with the ring that means so much to him!

A’royri was enjoying time with family in the backyard. She was holding her 2-year-old cousin, who unexpectedly pulled out her gold and diamond cluster earring, then dropped it in the grass. The earring set had been given to A’royri by her brother, and was highly sentimental to her. A’royri and her family gridded the backyard with an old Bounty Hunter metal detector from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with no luck. They were about to give up hope when someone discovered Ringfinders and the Suncoast Research and Recovery Club online. A’royri contacted the SRARC, and club president Howard Metts put out a notice of the loss to club members. The next morning, Howard and club members Bill Gallant and Mike Shuler responded to the home. After about 15 minutes of detecting, the beautiful earring was retrieved from the yard and placed into the hand of a very happy A’royri!
