Lost Platinum & 18k Gold Wedding Ring Recovered in Morrisville N.C. on 3/31/15

  • from Hillsborough (North Carolina, United States)
Contact:

On 3/29/15 , I was contacted by a Mr. Michael C. about his wedding ring he had lost while playing with his Dogs in his back yard.. We discussed the lost ring and all the details of where he had lost it and how.. After speaking to him I agreed to meet him the next day on 3/30/15 to do the search and find his ring.. I assured him it would be a easy search and I would be able to find his ring pretty quick since he was sure of the area he lost it in.. We had agreed to meet between 6:00pm & 6:30pm , 0n 3/30/15..

But the next day before I was to go out to do the search, I had decided since I had time before meeting him that I would go metal detecting in the woods first to pass some time before I had to meet him.. Thats when I had a problem of my own , I was about a mile back in the woods detecting and when it came time to head back to my truck so I could meet Mr. Michael C. to do his search I had relized I lost my truck keys in the woods somewhere.. This was a problem since I could not go anywhere with out my keys and I could not call him to let him know what happened since I locked my phone in my truck and could not get in to call anyone.. I search the woods again for my keys and decided to walk home when I could not find them.. When I finally got home , I emailed Mr. Michael C. late that night to let him know what had happened and to apologize for not being able to make it to do the search.. The next morning on 3/31/15, I had a friend give me a ride back to my truck with a spare set of keys so i could pick my truck up.. That same day I had spoke to Mr. Michael C. again since I had my phone again and truck back.. He was very understanding as to what happened and we agreeded to meet that day between 4pm & 4:30pm.. When I got there it was around 4pm and I met with Mr. Michael C. about ten minutes later when he had got there.. He walked me through what he was doing when he lost his ring and I even got to meet his 2 dogs he was playing with when he lost the ring.. I showed him the equipment I was going to use and explained this search would not take long as i was going to be able to find it fast using my long range electroscope called the Regulator..  I began my search using the Regulator long range electroscope and instantly got a hit on a line of bearing to search.. I grabbed my metal detector and in less then 3 minutes I had found his ring.. I was happy to have helped him out and he was very happy to have it back.. I also want to thank him for the generous reward he offered.. That much of a reward was not neccesary because I was not used to getting that much for a reward.. Its not about the amount of the reward I am offered that gives me pleasure in helping others out.. My reward is the pleasure I get when I see the smiles on a persons face when I return their lost item back to them..

On 3/10/15 , I was at a friend of a friends place helping to find a lost class ring a lady named Melody lost over 30 years ago when I made an unexpected Discovery. Hers the story of the find..

My friend James told me of a lady friend of his named Melody who had lost a gold class Ring over 30 years ago at her home site. I went out there on 3/10/15 to see if I could help her find it using my ATgold metal detector. As I was searching for her lost ring I made an unexpected recovery which was unexpected to her as well.. I had been searching for awhile with no luck when I got a really good strong signal.. I dug the target and out pop a ring made of gold, At first I thought I found her ring but when I looked closer at the ring I noticed it was not a class ring but it was a gold U.S, Army / Airborn Ring.. I showed it to Melody and to her suprise she reconized it was her dads ring who had passed away in 2011.. She did not even know the ring was lost so it was a great suprise to see it again.. I searched the rest of the day for her ring but did not find it.. But I will be going back to search again.. Even though I did not find Melody’s Ring , I did find her dads lost ring whiched made her very happy..

Lost Silver Wedding Band Recovered In Raleigh, N.C. on 1/21/15

  • from Hillsborough (North Carolina, United States)
Contact:

On 1/20/15 , I received a call from a lady who explained that her husband had lost his sterling silver wedding band while tossing some pine cones etc, into the woods behind their town house.. The ring had slipped off his finger while he was tossing them.. I agreed to meet them the next day on 1/21/15 around 12PM to do the recovery.. When I got their , they showed me where they lost the ring and I began my search.. When I began my search I first checked the area with my long range locator/electroscope to see if i could get a hit on the possible area the ring was in.. My electroscope did get a hit and I began my search again this time using my Garrett metal detector in the area of interest.. The first hit in the area turned out to be a copper tubing which read a 84-85 on my detectors readout.. The second hit read on my detector to be a 54-55 which was to low of a readout to be real silver so i did not go after it since I was looking a silver ring.. The final and third hit rang out loud and clear at a 88-89 readout which is what I tend see most silver rings hit on my detector.. Sure enough the ring was found.. They was happy to have the ring back and I was happy to be able to help..

Lost Gold Signet Ring / Vintage Family Heirloom Recovered In Raleigh, N.C. on 10/20/2014

  • from Hillsborough (North Carolina, United States)
Contact:

On Sunday Night on 10/19/14 I received a call from a nice young lady named Christine M. about a lost gold ring that was a Family Heirloom. She explained that she had lost the ring in the grass in front of the apartment building she lives in. She had just got out of a cab in front of her building and was walking up the walk way to the building when the ring slipped off her finger. Christine and her roommate attemped to locate the ring with no luck And even attempted to look up metal detector rental places online to find the ring. I agreed to come out the next morning between 8 & 9 am to help her find the ring.. Because of traffic I was running alittle late and got there alittle after 9 am on the morning of 10/20/14.. Christine was at work when I got there but her roommate show me the area she lost the ring.. I began my search and even expanded the search area some to make sure i covered all the area.. This was a very hard search to do, the area was so littered with buried trash target and iron and pulltabs.. I used two different detectors and made several passes to make make sure I covered all the area.. I dug over 100 trash targets along with 2 fake aluminun rings, a toy car and over $6.00 in loose change.. This ground was loaded with targets. After searching over 4 hours and still had not found the ring i was almost ready to give up as I covered all the area good.. I called Christine back up to let her know I could not find it yet and was thinking someone else might of picked it up.. I asked for more details and she explains the ring was a small ring and even texted me a pic to show me what the ring looked like.. I agreed to continue the seach.. As it turned out the reason I had so much trouble is the ring was a small gold ring and so much iron trash in the ground, the ring was stepped on and pushed into the ground.. The iron was so much that it was masking the ring which would of made it ring up of a iron target which i was not looking for.. So I decided  to changed up my  method of search and started crawling the area on my hands and knees useing only my hand held  metal detector and after about about 30 minutes I found the ring .. I called her up to let her know I found it and waited around town another 4 hours until she got home to return it to her.. She was very happy to get it back and I was happy to help her..

Hello, here’s another ring recovery I made today.. Last night I received a call from a nice gentlemen named Brent who had lost his ring yesturday.. I received his call but had to call him back since I missed the call the first time.. When we spoke on the phone I asked Brent to give me some details about his ring and how he lost it.. He explained the he works at The University of North Carolina State In Raleigh, NC and had lost his ring out the third story window of his office.. Brent told me he was in his office at his desk when a Bee flew in his open window.. As he attempted to swat at the Bee with his hand, the ring slipped off his finger and flew out the window.. He then attempted to find his ring and even went and rented a metal detector but could not find it.. I met with him first thing today at his office and he walked me through how he lost it.. Anyway long story short, I started my search and since he still had his rented detector we decided to hunt together.. I showed him how to use the detector some he had rented and after alittle over a hour of searching and we covered just about everywhere the ring could have gone.. We still had not found it.. There was only three possible places left to check.. place one was the possibility that someone saw the ring and picked it up But Brent was certian that was not the case.. which leaves only two more, Either it got stuck in in the tree on a branch on the way down or it was in the thick bushes.. well we searched alittle more and as we was checking the bushes, my detector went of under the bush . when i crawled under the bush to check the signal out I yelled I see it.. The ring was finally found.. Brent was very happy to get his ring back as you can see from the look on his face.. It was my pleasure to assist him in locating the ring..goodys 028 goodys 027

It took me about 30 minutes to get there and I recovered the ring pretty fast using my Garrett ATPRO metal detector.. The search took about 15 minutes.. The ring was found only a few feet from where he lost it.. I was really happy to help MR. Brian B. and he was very happy to have it found.. On 1/22/2014  I  received a call from a gentleman and his wife  in  Durham N.C. about a lost wedding band that he had lost  off his upper back patio while using his grill. After speaking to the gentleman and his wife I agreed to meet with  them at their home where he lost his wedding band. On    1/24/2014 I drove to their home that morning to do the search and meet with the gentleman to help him locate his missing ring. The gentleman also advised me he had attempted to locate the ring himself but was unsuccessful .   He had explained all the details to me on the phone prior to me coming out so i had a good idea of where to start looking.  When he was using his grill he had burned his hand and when he got burned he started shaking and flinging his hand around..  That is when the ring flew off his finger. After a couple hours of searching the ring was recovered and  As you can see from the pictures he was very relieved and grateful to have his ring back . These people are very nice and it was my pleasure to help them. bs3 383 bs3 382
