Not every ring is lost by accident… sometimes, it’s the result of a moment of frustration. 😬💍
After a heated argument, one ring took an unexpected flight. Tossed over a fence and landing somewhere deep inside a group of forsythia bushes. What looked like a simple shrub from the outside turned out to be a full-on thicket, tangled, overgrown, and not exactly welcoming. 🌿
Enter Greenwood Detecting.
Kati arrived on scene and got to work, quite literally diving into the brush. She carefully worked her way through what can only be described as a wiry, unforgiving tangle of branches with her pinpointer(the detector wouldn’t fit), while also doing her best to dodge patches of poison ivy along the way. 😅🌱
To help narrow things down, the husband tossed a small rock over the fence, recreating the throw as best as possible. That gave her a key reference point and helped lock in the most likely search zone. 🎯

We were recently called out to a front yard where a ring had gone missing during a simple household task. While cleaning lint off a pillowcase outside, a quick brush of the hand sent the ring flying, landing straight into a patch of dense green vegetation.

Snowstorms have a funny way of turning everyday routines into unexpected adventures. ❄️🚗
One local resident was simply brushing snow off his car after the storm, nothing out of the ordinary. But with a few quick swipes, he unknowingly sent his wedding ring flying along with the snow… landing somewhere in a small patch of grass along the edge of his apartment building parking lot. 💍😬
After realizing what happened, he gave Greenwood Detecting a call.

After the snow settled, this husband and wife decided to enjoy a peaceful walk outside… but what started as a quiet stroll quickly turned into an epic snowball fight. ❄️
Somewhere between the laughter, dodging, and a perfect snowball packing technique… a ring went missing. It wasn’t until they got back home that the husband realized his wedding band had slipped off while making snowballs and was now somewhere buried beneath fresh snow.

Lost ring West Orange, NJ… Found!!!

Not every recovery happens in a park or on a beach… sometimes, it takes us straight to the curb. 🗑️💍
We recently got a call about a missing wedding ring that was accidentally tossed out with the trash. By the time we arrived, we were met with a full lineup of garbage and recycling bags stacked, sealed, and ready for pickup. Let’s just say… there were quite a few potential “targets” to work through. 😅
With a methodical approach (and a bit of optimism), we started scanning and working bag by bag. Fortunately, luck was on our side. The ring turned up in about the 5th or 6th bag. 🎯

Winter strikes again! ⛄ We recently helped a client recover their phone after it went missing during a snow shoveling session. Armed with their Find My Phone app data 📍 and a crucial clue. They remembered exactly where their music stopped playing 🎵, and we got to work.
Our team member Kati systematically covered the area from where the music cut out all the way to the end of the driveway. When that search came up empty, she expanded the grid and found the phone at the very top of the driveway where they’d first started shoveling. Mystery solved! 🎉

While playing, a young girl tossed a water bottle 💦,
and in that split second, the ring she was wearing on

Greenwood Detecting recently had the privilege of helping a gentleman recover his missing wedding ring — a piece with deep personal meaning. The ring went missing after a day spent doing yard work and playing baseball with his grandson ⚾🌱.

💍 Wedding Ring Recovered in Monroe, NJ! 💍 – Thank you to both John Favano & Ed Trapper for sending this one my way!!
At his child’s soccer practice in Monroe, a man was coaching from the center of the field while playing with his wedding ring—which was a little loose. At some point, the ring slipped off and disappeared into the grass.
Parents, kids, and even a metal detector were brought in to help, but after an extensive search, the ring remained lost.
That’s when Greenwood Detecting was called in. We arrived just as the sun was setting and quickly gridded the field to make the most of the remaining daylight. After about 20 minutes, the detector gave off a perfect signal—and sure enough, the missing wedding ring was back in hand.
💡 Pro Tip: Be careful with rings that don’t fit well—they can easily slip off and get lost. If you can, get your ring resized. Remember: if it’s loose in the summer, it will be even looser in the winter.

Sometimes the smallest moments can cause the biggest panic. A man was tossing items off his patio onto the lawn when he suddenly noticed his ring was missing. The whole family joined the search—scanning the yard until their eyes grew fuzzy. They even broke out the kids’ metal detectors, but the ring was nowhere to be found.
