Lost White Gold with Diamond Wedding Band at Kaimana Beach Waikiki…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call from Vicki who hails from Blaine, Washington and was celebrating her 50th Wedding anniversary with her husband Jim at Kaimana Beach Waikiki.  While enjoying the cool water at Kaimana Beach, Jim’s White Gold with Diamond ring slipped off his finger and disappeared in the silted up water.  Vicki & Jim searched as best they could but the water was a bit too murky.  The lifeguard told them to contact “the ring finders” and that’s how they found me.  I told Vicki I lived 10 minutes away and would grab my gear and head right down.  If I could find parking that would be grand.  Thankfully,  there were a few stalls open near Kaimana so I arrived in record time.  Jim had been standing in the water on the spot for over an hour.  I fired up the Manticore and rushed out to meet him in about four feet depth of water.  I told him to stand in that spot and I would do a grid search around him.  I had a loud possible target but it kept moving away so I assumed it was a beaver tail.  As I got closer to Jim I got a very high tone that sounded like a quarter.  I asked him if he had lost any change while hanging out in the water and he said, “No!”  I dug that target and it was an awesome chunky silver ring with a Tiger’s Eye stone.  Now where is Jim’s ring?  I started to think since the tide was going out Jim might have lost his ring closer to shore where it was four feet deep an hour ago.  Sure enough, Boom! about twenty feet closer to shore I got a loud mid-tone and there was Jim’s ring in the scoop after the second try.  Much jubilation and hand shakes.  50th Anniversary saved!  Aloha to Jim & Vicki!

Lost Black Diamond & Titanium Wedding Ring at Kaimana Beach Waikiki…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began yesterday when I got a call from David who was on vacation from Middletown, Connecticut and enjoying the day at Kaimana Beach with his lovely wife Sara.  While heading out for a swim David’s Black Diamond Titanium ring fell off into the sand just before the reef edge in waist deep water.  He actually saw the ring on the bottom momentarily but a wave crashed into him and it was buried from sight by the stirred up sand.  David found me on “theringfinders” website and we agreed to meet the next morning at 9 during the low tide.  When I arrived I met Sara & David on the beach and David went into the water to show me where to hunt.  He had counted 25 paces from the water’s edge which was a brilliant manuever in order to get the most precise location.  Most tourists in a panic would not think to do that.  I fired up the beast and started gridding around David.  Thankfully, the area was sterile and the first target boomed on the Manticore.  Upon the second scoop there was David’s unique ring in the scoop.  David retrieved the ring from the scoop and we went up to the area where Sara was on the beach.  We were going to tell her it was a hopeless situation but I think she could tell immediately that prank wasn’t going to work.  A few laughs and handshakes and I was on my way home.  Vacation saved!  Aloha to David & Sara!

Lost White Gold & Diamonds Wedding Band at Kaimana Beach…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got a call from Dean who was on vacation from Newport Beach, California and enjoying his vacation on Kaimana Beach in Waikiki.  The day before he had placed his ring in his towel and when he picked it up the ring flew out and disappeared into the fine sand of Kaimana Beach.  Knowing Kaimana Beach is heavily detected and it was lost the day before I asked Dean to go to the beach and guard the lost area until I could get there.  It was my lunch break so I knew I could get there in a few minutes and hopefully the ring hadn’t been found.  When I arrived at the beach Dean & Rick were waiting.  They showed me the area and I fired up the “BEAST”.  First target #30 on the VDI.  Boom!  Dean’s awesome white gold & diamond ring was in the scoop.  I was amazed how quickly it was found as the area was a few parking stalls in size.  Back to work in record time and Dean’s family was so appreciative of the recovery.  Aloha to Dean & Rick
