Heirloom Pendant Lost, Found and Returned in Tampa, Florida

Chelsea spent the day in her backyard, first creating a small garden and then preparing the rest of the area for grass. She finally finished the prep work and seeded the area. She got out the hose and hand water everything and then as she was putting away the hose she noticed her necklace was broken. When she checked she found that the gold pendant with an image of Jesus on it that her grandfather had given to her for safe keeping was gone. Her grandfather had worn the pendant his whole life and when he recently was confined to the hospital he wanted her to keep it safe for him. When she discovered it was lost she was devastated. She got down on her hands and knee’s and cried as she searched for hours. When she did not find it, she decided she needed to rent a metal detector. When she googled “metal detector rental” SRARC came up and she called Mike Miller. Mike explained that we do not rent metal detectors but we would be happy to come out and search for the pendant. Mike call for a hunt the next day and Wayne Cree agreed to meet him at the site. Wayne and Mike searched for about 5 minutes and then Mike got a good hit close to where the new garden was. Sure enough it was the pendant. Chelsea was so relieved and happy she gave us a big hug and a giant smile. SRARC is so happy to have returned this special keepsake to Chelsea and we wish her grandfather a quick and complete recovery.

Heirloom Engagement Ring Lost, Found, and Returned at Pass-A-Grille Beach, Florida

John, Christine and their family were visiting from Stone Mountain, Georgia. Sunday afternoon they were enjoying a day on the beach, Christine was in the water throwing a football when she felt her ring come off. She screamed out that she had lost her ring. Her daughter saw the ring fly through the air and into the water.
The ring she had just lost was a family heirloom that John had given here upon their engagement. The whole family and and friends started searching frantically for the ring but to no avail. John decided to search for professional help and his google search led him to theringfinders.com website and eventually to SRARC. He called Tom Jones and asked for help. Tom called Joe Szemer and immediately headed out to the beach. Upon arrival they met up with John, Tom headed to the beach with a detector and Joe stared the arduous task of finding a parking spot.
Tom went into the water with John and Christine to the location that they felt the ring should be. Tom told Christine to stand in that spot and not move so he could use her as a reference point. He circled around her and John and gridded the area first east and west then north and south. After 30 minutes Joe finally enters the water to start hunting as he is searching his way out toward Christine, Tom noticed Christine heading to the beach with her head down and her face in her hands. As she walked away Joe moved into the spot she was standing and got a target. After a couple of scoops he looked up at John and asked “What does the ring look like?” It was in his scoop. A scream was let out and everyone came running out into the water.

Lost Family Ring Found and Returned at Redington Beach, Florida

Randy was at the beach with his family enjoying his last evening of vacation before heading home to Illinois in the morning.  They tossed a football around for a while when Randy felt his ring come off.  He thought he had a good idea where it dropped so they all started sifting  the sand looking for the ring.  After a couple hours of trying, Randy googled lost ring on the internet where he found SRARC’s web page.  Randy shot off a text to the various numbers and Stan Flack responded shortly after receiving the text about 8 p.m.  The two spoke and daylight was nearly gone, but the location was close by so off Stan went with his wife Linda to se if they could recover the ring before it was too dark.  At the beach, Randy gave a general description of the area he was standing and with one wave of his detector, Stan had the ring in his hand.  A very relieve randy explained that the ring was his grandfathers and he was thankful he wouldn’t have to break the news to his grandmother in the morning.  Smiles all the way around.  Always a good feeling.

Two Rings Found and Returned at Weekii Watchee Springs

Caroline and her sister Katy along with several other cousins all gathered at Katy’s house for the holidays. On Monday January 3rd they decided it would be fun to go up to Weekii Watchee Springs state park and see the mermaids perform. After the show they spent some additional time walking around the park and soon it was getting so warm they decided to go for a swim in the spring. Caroline went into the changing room and changed into her swimming suit. She covered herself with sun screen and in the process removed her rings and put them into her short’s pocket and then put them on over her swim suit. After looking around a little more they headed over to the beach and found a picnic table to store their things on. Caroline removed her shorts and laid them on the table then headed off to the water. After swimming for a while they returned to the table and Caroline found her shorts with the keys fallen out of the pocket but thought nothing of it. They finished their day and headed home. After returning home she discovered both of her rings were missing. She and her sister rushed back to the park and searched in the sand under the table but could not find anything. One of Caroline’s cousins remembered hearing about The Ring Finders and suggested she try finding someone to help. She found the SRARC Ring Finders Service and contacted Mike Miller. Mike put out a request to the team and they all met at the site the next day. As the team entered the park (Paul Hill, Ed Osmar, Rick Magyar, Mike Shuler and Mike), the gate attendant mentioned that they had just found a ring. We waited until Caroline arrived and they had her describe her lost engagement ring and sure enough it was hers. We all congratulated her and began to step away when she mentioned that the engagement ring was the only one that was important so don’t worry about the other ring she had lost. We said “No Way” we came all this way to hunt so let’s go see if we can find it. We discovered that the engagement ring was found nowhere near where she thought she had lost it and there was no sandy area in that location. We decided to split up with Caroline and Paul heading to the location that the engagement ring had been found and the rest of us, with Katy as our guide, headed to the beach area by the picnic table. After searching the sand around the picnic table for a short time Mike got a call from Paul and he informed us that Caroline had found the second ring. The boat Captain who found the engagement ring saw them looking and he showed them exactly where he had found it lodged between two dock planks. Caroline looked off to the side in the dirt and spotted the other ring right away. We think she reached into her pocket for something and the rings popped out as she pulled out maybe her keys. Whatever, we are very happy she has her rings again and that we were able to give her moral support until they were returned to her fingers again.
When we left the park we all had great big smiles on our faces!!!!!!!!!!!

Wedding Ring Lost at Beach Ceremony, Found and Returned Just in Time on Pass A Grille Beach

Scott and Tracy planned a beautiful wedding at sunset on Pass A Grille beach. Everything was setup and almost ready to go when Scott was walking across the boardwalk to the beach. As he was walking across the sand he felt strange and thought he heard something hit the sand. He stopped and checked everything he had been carrying and discovered he no longer had the wedding ring. Everyone rushed over to look but had no luck finding the ring. The wedding planner quickly informed them he knew of a group that could help. He contacted Stan Flack of SRARC Ring Finders who passed him on to Mike Miller. Mike said he could come right over but it was getting late and the sun would soon be down so they decided to go on with the ceremony without the ring.

By the time Mike got there the ceremony was over but the bride and groom were still at the alter. Mike went right to work and within 5 minutes he found the ring. Everyone was relieved and the ring was rushed over to the couple and it was just in time for Tracy to slip the wedding ring onto Scotts finger.

SRARC is so happy to have been able to recover and return this ring. We wish the happy couple all the best in their future.

Lost Wedding Ring Found and Returned on Madeira Beach

Mike, Rachel, and children were down from Indiana for fall break. After spending the morning swimming and relaxing in the sun, Mike noticed his children tossing a football on the Beach. He joined them and moved out into about chest deep water. They threw the ball for a few minutes and on the final toss Mike saw his wedding ring fly off and disappear into the waters of the gulf. The whole family looked for several hours but could not find it.

Mike googled for a place to rent a metal detector and found the SRARC Ring Finders Service. He contacted us and we set up a hunt for the next day. Jim Adams, Joe Montione, Mark Sillence, Bill Gallant, Jeffery Miller, and Mike Miller joined in the hunt and within 15 minutes Bill said I think I found it. Sure enough Mike rushed over and confirmed it was the missing ring. Rachel, Mike’s wife, also came rushing out in disbelief and gave Bill a great big hug. Mike told me later she had no faith that we would find the ring and had told him it was a 1 in 1 million chance.

The SRARC ring finders team is happy to be the ones to make a I in 1 million opportunity come true for Mike and Rachel.

Wedding Ring Lost then Found and Returned at Tierra Verde Fishing Spot

Nick came down from Ocala with his Dad, Brother, and Father-in-law to fish in honor of his recently lost Aunt whom had fished many times with his father in this very spot over the last thirty years. After fishing for a short time, Nick hooked a nice Red fish and while unhooking it got stabbed with a fin. As he jerked his hand away, off flew his wedding ring. He has only been married for 5 months and he could not imagine how he was going to explain not having a wedding ring to his new wife. They had been fishing in about waist deep water and had the foresight to mark the spot where the ring came off with a stick stuck into the grassy bottom. They all searched for about an hour before realizing that they were not going to find it.

Nick got out of the water and did a search on his smart phone for lost wedding rings in St Petersburg. SRARC Ring Finders Recovery Service popped up right away and he called the numbers listed and Mike Miller soon responded. Mike put out a quick request to the team members and headed for Nick’s location. Mike and Jeffery Miller both arrived about the same time and began the search. It only took a few minutes for Mike to locate and recover the ring. It was within three feet of where the stick had been pushed into the bottom.

Nick was extremely happy to get his ring back and relieved that he was not going to have to explain a lost wedding ring to his wife. SRARC wishes them both many happy years together.

Five Generation Heirloom Wedding Ring Lost, Found, and Returned in Tampa

Melissa was out putting her beautiful horse Bella through some tough exercises on Tuesday evening and Bella got rebellious and started to buck and act up just a little bit bouncing Melissa around a little more than normal. Prior to riding, Melissa had carefully placed her wedding ring into a pocket for safe keeping. Parts of the ring had belonged to her great-great-great grandmother and had been used through 5 generations of family weddings. It has significant historic value to the entire family.

After finishing her workout with Bella, Melissa washed her down, lead her back to the holding stall and put her away for the night. As she walked away from the stall she reached into her pocket to retrieve her wedding ring. It was not there. Panic immediately set in and Melissa raced around the barn, staging area, and arena frantically looking for her ring. She looked until it was to dark to see anymore then got a flashlight and searched for three more hours. When she finally gave up and returned home she got onto the internet and searched for help or maybe a place to rent a metal detector. She found SRARC Ring Finders, sent an email and then spent a sleepless night waiting to hear back. The next morning she called Mike Miller and they arranged to do a hunt that evening. Mike, Ed Osmar, Mike Shuler, and Mark Sillence all showed up as well as Melissa and her husband Bruce. Melissa explained the events of the previous evening and suggested that the ring was most likely thrown out of her pocket when Bella started her bucking episode. Mike set out small flags across the arena to establish scanning lanes and we all went to work, Mellisa and Bruce scanning by eye and the rest of us scanning with metal detectors. An hour later Mike Shuler held the ring high over his head and shouted “I found it”. We all cheered and Melissa ran over and gave us a big hug. Sadly the ring had been stepped on by a horse and was damaged but it was still in one piece, had all the diamonds and can be repaired. Thanks Mike for your great recovery.

SRARC is overjoyed to have been able to help recover this heirloom for Melissa and Bruce whom we wish to thank for their service in the United States Air Force. We are also extremely happy to have been able to serve you.

Family Heirloom Ruby Ring Lost, Found, and Returned on Pass A Grille Beach, Florida

Austin and his mother were visiting his brother in Florida from Flint, Michigan. They all went to Pass A Grille and set up a canopy near the water for a fun day at the beach. Shortly after arriving they went into the water and as they enjoyed the warm gulf water temperature, Austin sat down in about neck deep water. As he was sitting he felt a shell in the sand, picked it up and threw it toward the shore. As the shell headed to shore so did Austin’s precious ruby ring. They all searched for hours but with no luck.

The ring was his grandfathers which was given to his grandfather by his grandfathers mother when he had turned 18. His grandfather wore the ring everyday of his life until he chipped the original ruby. At that time, one of his daughters (Austin’s Aunt) had the ruby replaced for him and he put the ring back on and wore it for the rest of his life. The Family is not sure what the significance of the ring was but they do know that both of his parents had worn ruby rings.

For Austin’s 18th birthday just last July his grandmother gave him the ring as a birthday present. Not only is the ring significant in his families history it is also Austin’s birthstone. The ring is approximately 61 years old.

About 8 days after he lost it, Austin found SRARC Ring Finders and contacted Tom Jones. A hunt date was established and Paul Hill, Ed Osmar, Dimitur Alipiev, Mark Sillence, Howard Metts, Jeffery Miller, Mike Miller, and Bill Gallant showed up for the hunt. 13 minutes later Bill held up the ring and said “I think I found it”. Awesome job Bill and a big “Thank You” to all who helped on this recovery. SRARC is very happy to have been a part in returning this important piece of history to Austin’s family.

Ring Lost at Pass A Grille Beach Found and Returned

Tony and Tammy were visiting from Michigan and staying at the Don Cesar Resort in St Pete Beach. While out playing in the water, Tammy lost her ring. After looking as long as they could they retired to their room where she spent a sleepless night thinking that she would never see her beloved ring again. Tony assured her that the ring was insured and could be replaced. She didn’t want another one, she wanted hers back. This ring is very special, Tony had given it to her after the birth of their daughter. He came into the hospital room and told Tammy that she had given him something very special and he wanted to give her something special and presented her the ring.
The next morning Tony contacted SRARC and talked to Tom Jones asking for help hopeful that someone could find the ring. A hunt was scheduled at 5:00 that afternoon. Tom, Joe Szemer, Mike Miller, Mark Sillence and Wayne Cree arrived and after meeting up with Tony started hunting. 30 minutes into the hunt Joe Szemer, who had moved into shallower water and out of the hunt area waved Tom Jones over and asked, “is this the ring?” Tom said I think so and took the ring. Joe said to him as he walked off, “if that’s not it I want it back”. Tom made his way back to where Tammy was and found her with a dive mask and her head under the water. He walked over to where she was at and put his hand with her ring on his finger under the water in front of her mask. Tammy’s head came quickly out of the water and said, “Oh, my ring. You found it.” Tony came over and was so happy that he wanted to personally hug everyone that had helped look for the ring.
Tammy told the group later. “I told him even if the insurance pays for it and you get another one, I WON’T WEAR IT.”
