I received a text from a manager of a recreation complex that he was cleaning the snow off his car knocked his hand on something. Next thing he noticed his 2 month old cobalt wedding ring was missing!
I new right away that it was a colleague at my work place! I messaged him back if he was a COB employee 😂 after that exchanged he called me and we had a bit of a laugh over it!
I met him bright and early the next day. Unfortunately, the area still had snow and ice but the worse was that the area was rebar encased concrete parking pad/walking area. I had my work cut out for me. Gave it 4 1/2 hours, I lowered my sensitivity to 2 but only had my 15” coil with me. I called it quits and decided to go back the following day on my lunch hours.
Well, 4 minutes into my 2nd attempt with my small coil and decided to check the snow piles / iced areas that were still present. I had a solid 9/10!! As I kicked the snow away, out popped the iced up shinny cobalt wedding band!!! WHAHOOOO!!
Now to surprise Antony!!!
As I was heading back into the building to surprise Antony… he walked out to check on the status. I pretended that an emergency call came in for a street light pole down. Then I pulled out his beautiful shinny cobalt wedding band!! His reaction was priceless!! Antony was so grateful to receive his 2 month old wedding band back. He was dreading telling his telling his Wife!

Manu lost her custom engagement / wedding band back in August 2021.
She had a girlfriend over and while she was sitting on her couch she was fiddling with her ring. She saw the ring fall through in between the leather cushions.
She and many others Family member try to find her ring but with no luck.
She recently called me back since August communication and made arrangements for me to swing by after work.
I brought along my Stanley Tools endoscope which has a high definition camera and light on the end of the scope.
I took about 5 minutes to locate her beautiful custom designed ring under and around a lower fabric piece in the middle cushion!

Yolanda from Hamilton was on a day out swimming with Friends at a very lovely private swimming pond in Hockley Valley, Mono in the gorgeous Dufferin County area!
Yolanda was recently given a white/yellow gold ring with a center sapphire surrounded by diamonds custom made from her Brother just 3 weeks prior. There is a huge sentimental reason she was extremely upset at accidentally losing this beautiful ring!
I was advised it was a sandy bottom over 10’ depth. It was certainly not a sandy bottom as the bottom was covered in a white dry type weed vegetation which was 2’ to 4’ high. There was incredible fish in the pond as my Minelab Excalibur2 underwater metal detector always seems to draw in the fish to investigate me ☺️ I love It! I was also not able to use my underwater circular gridding tool as it seemed the bottom underneath was concrete.
After 20 minutes, I circled back to ask Yolanda to walk around the pond for a different perspective to give me a closer location to where the ring came off. I headed back out and within 5 minutes, I luckily heard that wonderful tone on the Excalibur2! BINGO! Then the SURPRISE!!

It’s a shame that this individual did not make a reasonable donation the the KSBCF charity. Lots of excises. I forgive you. Someone else stepped up to the plate and made-it-right! As his Sister is a breast cancer survivor. I was at a loss for words of his incredible gesture.
My “pay-It-forward” campaign Is my reward. Clients are to donate between 10-20% of the value of the item or more if they choose. They in-turn receive a tax receipt! Forgiven and forgotten! ONTO THE NEXT!
Paul and his Wife were completing yard work this past weekend at their home in Guelph, Ontario.
Later in the day after most of the work was completed, Paul got into his vehicle and noticed his wedding band was not on his ring finger.
I headed out with my Minelab Equinox800 multi frequency metal detected. Started to grid search near the fence line. Back tracked the back yard. Then into the side yard we’re 8+ bags of leaves had been packed in.
Four to six feet away I had a solid double tone of 18 on the Nox and knew immediately I located the ring.
I called Paul and his wife over as and his Wife of 36 years if she would like to put his wedding band back on his fingers!! Paul had recently lost weight and his wedding band was extremely loose!!

Angela was out completing farm duties on a beautiful day in a lovely area of Caledon in the quaint village of Belfountain.
Angela and her good Friend Sarah are both horse owners and I’ve know them for a while now. They were loading the horses and the donkeys during the into a trailer throughout the day to head off to their winter digs. Eddie the donkey was not wanting any part of getting on the trailer and had to go for a walk-a-bout with Angela to relax.
Later that day, Angela realized one of her her diamond earrings was missing. Sarah immediately called me for help as she knew I was a metal detectorista and a proud member of the global organization called TheRingFindersDotCom. I had helped another one of Sarah’s Friends successfully recover and return two stainless steel throwing knives lost on his property!
I proceeded immediately after work to Angela’s home and discussed her path throughout the day on her farm. I was in for the very difficult task because any lost small earring or small linked chain is extremely hard to find with a metal detector because there is so little material. It is absolutely a needle in the haystack! I did however call upon a Minelab metal Detexperts and fellow RingFinders Laurie and Eric for advise on my metal detector settings! Park 2 mode and 40 hertz! BINGO! I was able to detect the other earring in Angela’s possession!!! I had hope!
First evening I attempted to check around to south end of the small barn and then looked inside were some equipment was. The evening turned dss asap and cold. My headlamp was helpful but Angela invited me in for a hot drink and dinner! We called it a night! She really felt there was no luck to find it.
On the second day in the late afternoon I proceeded to check in the chicken coop area then the other half of the small barn. I then proceeded continuing my grid search pattern into the laneway where they were loading of the horses and donkeys took place.
Within 20 minutes I had a strong tone and I was completely shocked and amazed that I spotted under a half inch of dirt the beautiful diamond earring was there. I truly was in disbelief as I knew this task was a tremendous challenge.
Angela since returned and was awaiting her husband Ariel to come home. I didn’t let on to Angel that I found the earring and was now looking for the earring screw back!
I was trying to think of ways on how to surprise her and her husband! I then was invited in to warm up as well the offer of another lovely dinner. I then asked Angela to do a starting video for the RingFinders blog for good luck and finally this was the golden opportunity to recorder the surprise!!

I made a post on Facebook that I was looking for a spotter for a scuba dive ring recovery job in Otty Lake, Perth which is in Eastern Ontario.
Within a few hours one of my girlfriends called and said her Husband Mike saw my post!
It so happened that Patti was headed to the Family cottage on the weekend and go figure… on the SAME LAKE!! She also informed me that three weeks ago she lost her favourite Alexander MacQueen prescription reading glasses under or near the dock and no one could find than.
Patti then agreed to be my spotter and we set the date and time!
Patti was kind enough to make a post on the local Otty Lake page to see if anyone else needed assistance for lost items. Sure enough a message came in for yet another men’s wedding band lost in the water! Those two successful ring recoveries will be posted shortly as I’m still co-ordinating meeting up with the ring owners to return and grab some photos for the blog!
I brought along my trusty Minelab Excalibur2 underwater detector as my DIVE BLU3NEMO portable battery operated hookah systems! Within five minutes and half way under the dock I came upon Patti’s reading glasses just sitting there!!

A long time Rexdale Friend Andreas lost his valuable prescription Maui Jim sunglasses 3 weeks ago swimming in Allen Lake in Harcourt Park in beautiful Haliburton Highlands cottage country area! Stunning area all 4 seasons!
Metzy knew I was a registered metal/hookah/scuba dive detectorist with the global organization called www.TheRingFinders.com
I was in the area and made arrangements to help him out! I decided to use my BLU3 Nemo which is a portable hookah dive system with a 10 foot hose and operated with a lithium ion battery! It’s amazing piece of equipment which is only 12lbs! Makes for an easier application than full scuba gear as not to stir up the silt as long as I’m weighted correctly!
Metzy dropped anchor at the location he thought they were swimming. I started a grid search and looking for he previous anchor drop/drag marks. Five to ten minutes later I saw his beauty blue sunglasses!! He was off by 80’ or so but gridding covers the area properly!

Andreas pulled me over to the “Lake” Par-Tay sauna/BBQ floating flotilla! Lucky to warm up in the sauna and meet the Allen “Lake” pirates! ARRRH AWESOME!

Todd and his buddies from Sudbury, Ontario booked into the ‘stay & play’ Seguin Valley Golf & Country Club, Seguin, Ontario just south of Parry Sound!
A few days away on a guys get-a-way golfing adventure! A few bevies may have been had. Todd decided to swim 200’ over to an exposed rock area and he felt his wedding band fell off.
The guys all headed back home and I received special permission from the manager Gail. You see one of Gail’s employee Marci Vine is an amazing Friend and Kelly Shires Pink Sista recommended me!! Marci advised Todd to call me!
So I headed up to the golf course, received directions to cabin #2. Todd provided a photo of the area. I swam over to the rock with all my gear and searched for approximately 10 minutes with no luck. I decided to check the top of the rock!
BINGO!!! Solid tone on my Minelab Excalibur2 underwater metal detector and I found Todd’s wedding band sitting on top of the rock just under some small shrubs! I swam back and surprised FaceTimed Todd with the good news!

Ken had posted on a Facebook group page seeking the help of a scuba diver to assist in looking for his Son’s wedding band lost of the dock area.
They were headed out to go waterskiing and his Son jumped from the dock as the boat was leaving, caught his hand on the ski rope and watching his wedding band fall into the waters below.
I offered my services but I felt Ken didn’t believe the ring could be found with low visibility below. I advised him I had a high success rate of return.
I reached back out to Ken in the later part of the week as I was headed up to the Sequin Valley Gold Course area south of Parry Sound to search for another lost men’s wedding band. I again offered to assist and Ken decided to take me up on my offer!
Roughly 20-25 minutes later I was please to recover his Son’s titanium wedding band!!

Greg was out fishing in Minto, Ontario with his Son Max. Max wanted a different lure in his rod. Greg leaned his rod against the boat to change the lure when a naughty fish yanked it right out of the boat!
Max said call Ally, she’ll find it! ❤️
I had fun with my dive gear hanging onto the back of the boat which added for a quicker grid search.
I managed to see the flash of the cork on the end of the rod! It made for a quick recovery!
