I got a call from Christopher about a key he lost in the sand at the beach. It seems he was using another key on the key ring to cut something when his car key snagged on something, and the blade of the key snapped off of the plastic door opener it was attached to, and flew into the sand. After thoroughly searching for it he found me on The Ring Finders web site, and asked for help. After describing what had happened, I let him know I would be there as soon as I could to conduct a search for him.

When I arrived, Christopher took me over to the area of the loss. He explained again what happened, and showed me where he believed the key to have flown. I turned my detector on, swung once, got a good signal, and after scooping the sand, had his key in my scoop. He was so happy, and relieved because he could not leave without the blade of the key. A very short search, made an extremely happy gentleman!

I received a call earlier today from Devon who was calling for his friend Kari. Kari had been sitting in a beach chair, and decided to apply some sunscreen. She did not want to mess her wedding band with the cream, so she removed it and put it on the chair. She then moved forgetting it was on the chair, and in that process it was gone in the soft sand. She searched where she thought it might have fallen, but was unable to find it, even with the help of friends. Kari’s husband had gotten the ring as a special gift for her, so it had a special sentimentality. I let Devon know that I was on my way and would contact him when I arrived.

When I got to the beach, we were able to find each other after a little communication, When they showed me the area, I knew that if everything played out as they explained to me, the ring was going to be found. They had many things in their favor, but the two most important were that they called right away, and that they had not left the area. I set up after they had moved the beach chairs, adjusted the detector’s sensitivity, and proceeded to search. One swing, nice tone, one scoop, and in the scoop was Kari’s ring. I pulled it out and held it up, when at that point the whole group of people surrounding me burst into cheers, and when I handed it back to Kari, she became very emotional. It took all of about 10 seconds to have the ring back in Kari’s hand. I love to see joy restored!

Kari sent the following testimonial:

Hi Steve,

Thank you again so much for finding my ring yesterday. I just posted a review on your yelp page.

Here is a testimonial for your website:

It was a typical beach day. I removed my diamond eternity band to apply sunscreen as I always do but somehow got distracted and forgot to put it back on. Suddenly about an hour and a half later I realized my ring wasn’t on my hand. I had set it next to me on my beach chair and now it was gone. Likely buried in the sand somewhere. I was distraught. I had a fast thinking friend who called a metal detector shop and they referred us to Steve. We had tried to contain the area where we thought it might be as best we could. Steve showed up and saved the day! After going over some details with me, he put his equipment to work and sure enough, the first swipe yielded my ring! I will be forever grateful to Steve for finding this very sentimental gift given to me by my husband.

Thank you again Steve!

Yasin emailed me about his lost car key. He lives on a second floor of an apartment building, and when leaving the home he dropped his car key. It hit the deck, bounced, and landed in the garden below. The garden was filled with 3 foot tall shrubs with a lot of dead ground cover under  them, He said that he spent about 3 hours looking for the key, and then decided to look for help. He asked if I could come the next morning, and we arranged a time to meet for the search.

When I got there Yasin met me and took me to the spot. The shrubs were tall, and very close to one another. I did the search slowly and meticulously without finding the key. I then went back and slowed the search down even more, and found the key right under where he thought it had dropped, buried under the dead undergrowth. He was very happy to have it back, and I was happy to help.

Thomas called yesterday. He had been shaking out his clothes at the beach, when his ring slipped off of his finger and into the sand. It was gone immediately, and his search for it was futile. He had not left the area, so I told him I would be there as soon as I could.

When I arrived, Thomas was there waiting for me, and showed me what had happened. The area was not big, but there was a ton of metal in the sand which caused me to dig a lot of targets to be sure not to miss his ring. I worked the most likely area, digging everything that sounded possible, but his ring did not show up. I then started on the other side and received a good tone. It sounded so good in relation to the other tones I had been receiving that I told Thomas that this might just be his ring. I scooped the sand, shook it out, and in the scoop was a nice silver colored ring. I lifted it out and Thomas was amazed, it was his ring! He was so very happy to have his ring back, having only been married for 9 months. I feel very fortunate to be able to create such a smile. Fun day!

Yael called explaining that she had lost the ring her mother had given her, in the sand at the beach. She had taken it off, and put it on the blanket they laid out, but forgetting that she had put the ring on the blanket, she picked the blanket up and shook it out. At that point it was too late, the ring was gone. I let her know I would be there as soon as possible, because they were still there, and possibility of a recovery was good.

When I got to the area Yael showed me what had happened, and the possible vicinity of the lost ring. I got my detector ready, and decided to start at the outer part of the perimeter. I turned my machine on, took two swings, got the tone, put the scoop in, and within 10 seconds was able to hand Yael her ring back. It doesn’t always happen like that, but I just happened to chose the right place to start. Needless to say Yael was overjoyed to have her precious ring back again. I was so happy to have been able to be able to give back something she thought was lost forever. Really a great day!

I received a call late in the day yesterday regarding a wedding ring lost in the water at the beach. Steven was coming out of the water when a wave hit him in the back, and knocked his ring from his finger. It immediately disappeared in the sand and water. I let him know I would be leaving to help right away.

When I arrived the tide was close to its high point, and there were 4 foot shore break crashing right on the beach. The loss had happened a few hours before, and closer to the low end of the tide cycle. I tried to do a search, but because of the wave action, was not able to get to far in the water to do a good search, and decided to come back today when the tide was low again. I spent about 1 1/2 hours doing the search when I got a good solid signal, and dug. After I dumped the scoop and kicked the sand away, I saw the gleam of gold. I took the ring and sent an email to Steven to let him know that I was successful. We arranged a meeting at the same beach later, and I was able to give his ring back. He was very happy, and surprised that it was found. Another great smile made!

Denise called, she had been at the beach, when brushing the sand off of her clothes, her ring flew off into the sand and was gone. This was her grandmother’s ring, and she cherished it. She had not left the area, and it had happened just a little bit earlier, so I knew the possibilities of a recovery were very good. I let her know that I was on my way, and would let her know when I arrived.

When I got to where Denise was she showed me where she had been standing, and what she was doing when the ring flew off, so I began my search. I searched all of the area she had gone over, and the ring was not there, so I expanded the area. I found the ring about 10 feet from the original area, sitting on top of the sand. Denise was very grateful, and figured she would not even have looked there had I not come along. What a nice end to a day!

I received a call from Jane today about a lost ring. She had been in her backyard throwing a ball to her dog, when making a throw her late husband’s ring that she wore daily, flew from her finger, and was gone. I asked a few questions, and we arranged to meet later in the afternoon to do the search.

When I got to Jane’s house, she took me to the backyard, and we talked about the loss. I asked her to reenact the throw, and then began a search in the direction of where the ball had flown. I went over the grass, checked all the flower pots, checked and shook all the bushes, under the bushes, and out to the fence; no ring. I then went over the yard once more to insure I had covered all areas, no ring. I asked if she had a ladder, and checked up on the garage roof, no ring. Jane had resolved to find the ring whenever it showed up, but I really wanted to know why we were not able to find it, so we went back behind where she had been standing, and looked on her gravel patio. I told her a story about how rings are not usually where you think they are, so we began to look around the patio. I just got finished saying that if it was here, that it would be in plain sight. I turned right looked down on the gravel, and there it was. I let out a whoop letting her know I had found it. It had come off of her left hand, and flown  15 behind and to her right about another 10 feet; amazing! Jane was so happy! This ring is something she wears to keep her husbands memory close to her all the time.

Jane sent the following testimonial:

My late husbands ring found today after an extensive search by Steve. Can’t thank you enough for all your help. Just when we were ready to give up the search, there it was hiding in plane site👏 I can’t tell you how happy & relieved I am.
You made my day & am truly grateful

Eric called today about his wedding band he had lost in his backyard over the Memorial weekend, during a grilling session. He went to wipe his hands off in the grass, when while swiping them his ring went flying. He and his family searched for a couple of hours without any luck. After a few questions, I agreed to do the search. He was going to be at work, so we arranged to have me meet with his wife Anna at the house later in the day.

When I arrived, Anna met me at the backyard gate, and took me back to the site of the loss. She showed me approximately what happened. From what it looked like, the ring should not have gone far, but having done these searches over the years, I have found that these rings sometimes go in the least expected of places. I searched the area where I expected the ring would have gone first, no luck. I then began a search over all the rest of the yard, and on the last pass, all the way on the other side of the yard, further back than it should have been, I found Eric’s ring. Rings are kind of like weird people; they just do their own thing. It was a pure pleasure to be able to hand Anna her husband’s ring, that they thought was lost for good. Truly a great day!

Eric sent the following testimonial:

Steve,

You are a great guy with a great calling in life! My lost ring in my backyard was probably a run-of-the-mill search and find for you, but I had been wearing it for over 20 years. I had been doing yard work the previous day and within minutes of it falling off my finger (still don’t know how it happened), I realized my finger was bare. But me finding you was a bigger part of the story. We looked for it all evening until it got too dark. The next day, I had to go to work. I told my co-workers that I had lost my ring the previous day, and the general consensus was that I would need to buy a replacement. I’m surrounded by co-workers wearing replacements. A couple of them had heard of your website. So I gave it a try. I think I called you around 11:00 in the morning, let you know my wife would be home by 3:30, and you were there by 4:00. I shared your emails and txts with my work mates so they were all along for the ride. – Ring found within a few minutes in a part of the yard that I didn’t think it would be in. “It’s never where you think it is” I believe you told my wife. Anyhow, I had to run around the office saying “Steve found it!” It was a nice touch to a stressful day.

Thanks again and best wishes in all your future searches!

Jonny’s friend called me today to see if I was available to come and look for Jonny’s lost wedding ring. They had been at the beach playing catch with a Frisby when as he was going for a catch he felt his ring come off of his hand, watched it fly past his face, he even heard it hit the sand, and it was gone in an instant. He and his friends searched all over the sand with no luck. They found me on the Internet, and called. I asked a few questions, and from everything they told me, it sounded like we would have a successful recovery today. I let them know I would be there as soon as possible, and was on my way.

When I got to the beach, I walked out looking for Jonny. As I got to the slope down to the water I noticed a guy looking around in the sand, and figured he was the gentleman I was looking for. Jonny looked up and came right over. He then explained what had happened, and showed me the Frisby they placed in the area they believed the ring to be. I began my search to the South of the Frisby working North in the direction Jonny had been moving when the ring was lost. I searched out to about 30 feet with no ring. Then went back to the starting position, and began to work to the South of the Frisby. After about 2 passes I got a good strong signal, and there I could see just a slight gimmer shinning through the sand. I reached down, and to Jonny’s disbelief Held up his wedding ring. He had not been married a year yet, so this loss was very sentimental, as he had not had the ring very long. Needless to say he was very happy, and I was happy to have had the pleasure to make his day!

Jonny sent the following testimonial:

Steve at Ring Finders is simply put, “A God-Send.” He is an old school type of guy who is all about helping people out; a “golden rule” type of guy, you do not find people like Steve anymore. I am thankful for Steve at Ring Finders and the miracle he can provide for locating lost treasures. Here is my story: A few days ago, on Friday, May 24thI was on the beach in Hermosa tossing the Frisbee around with some friends and I went running after a long pass. When I was in stride chasing after the Frisbee, I felt my wedding ring go flying off my finger, I heard the ring hit the sand, and in a matter of seconds, the ring disappeared in the sand. My heart dropped, and all I could think of was how pissed off my wife was going to be because the ring was going to be gone forever. I had four friends on their hands and knees in the sand trying to help me find my ring, and after about 30 minutes of looking I felt hopeless, I felt like giving up, cursing left and right to myself that the ring is gone. Someone brought up a metal detector, then someone else looked on their phone and found Steve at Ring Finders. Steve said he would be there as soon as possible to help us try and find the ring. My friends had to leave the beach, but I was still looking and waiting for Steve to arrive. I thought to myself, this guy isn’t going to even come, and if he does come, he isn’t going to find my ring, there is no way. Steve ended up arriving about 45 minutes later (the time he said he would be to the beach) and I explained the situation to him and where the ring could be. I asked him what the probability of him finding the ring was, he simply said, “if it is in this area, and you didn’t move from this area, I will 100 percent find it.” About 10 minutes into the search, Steve found my wedding ring, he bent down and picked up and I thought, no way, no way, I cannot believe he found my ring. I asked him what I owed him, he said, “if you want to give me a reward, you can.” I gave him a big hug, shook his hand, thanked him a hundred times, and give him all the money I had in my wallet, $37.” I just want to personally thank Steve at Ring Finders, and let people out there know, that Steve is the real-deal, and if you lost a wedding ring, or any other prized possession, Steve will find it. Thanks again Steve, I am so grateful that you found my wedding ring, God Bless ya!
