When Jared called they had already left the beach. It seems that he had his ring in the beach chair, and when they were leaving, the chair was picked up, and ring vanished. I asked if he would be able to meet me there, and at that time he was not available, so I told him I would go and do the search for him if given the information on the area. He agreed, and sent me very detailed and concise directions as to where the loss occurred.

I got to the beach a little later in the evening hoping that the crowds would have thinned out. I began my search starting at the furthest possible limit, and worked my way towards the other limit. I did have to weave in and out of beach goers who had their blankets out. I continued to search, not finding much because this is a very clean beach thanks to the very good county beach machines. As I made pass after pass without finding much, I came to a spot where some people had a blanket on the beach, and folded it over to protect their belongings while they went into the water. That gave me a couple of feet more to search, and low and behold, I struck gold in that spot. I called Jared telling him, and sent a picture of the ring I found. He told me that was it, and he was now free to come down and pick it up. Just another great day providing reasons for people to smile.

Jeremy’s friend Mark called because Jeremy had lost his wedding ring in the sand while playing football with friends at the beach. When going for the ball, his ring came off, and was completely hidden from him and his friends who searched hard for it. I let him know I would come ASAP in order to have a successful recovery.

When I arrived I went to the wrong place, and had to call in order to be redirected to where the loss occurred. When I found him he showed me the area, and how the loss occurred. I began my search, finding quite a bit of metal trash in the area which slowed down the search considerably. I searched the area he showed me, not finding the ring, so I began to expand the search zone. After about 5 more passes I found his ring. Jeremy and his friends were surprised it had gone into that area, but he was happy to have it back. Great smile!

… Katie was at Huntington City Beach with her friend. Her friend Julie lost a hierloom gold ring that was gifted to her by her grandfather. Julie had set the ring on the edge of the towel while applying sunscreen.

Katie called me this afternoon waiting at the location. Her friend had to leave because she had an important appointment she couldn’t miss.

I was able to meet Katie at the location just north of the Huntington Beach Pier. The search was successful because they contacted me soon after the loss and one of them was able to put me on the spot.. Timing is important and secondly, staying or marking the location so we can get in the general location . Thanks for Katie calling me and staying in the general area.  Team work makes recoveries look easy..
