*** Cara dropped her small gold diamond wedding ring in the sand while vacationing at the Blue Lagoon Resort in Laguna Beach, CA. She called me for help. After discussing some details of her loss and her availability to meet me at the general location, I drove to help her on the beach.

Within an hour after she called, I was on the beach with my metal detecting equipment.

I got a couple trash metal targets, then I got another mixed sound signal that seemed to be trash metal. I dug the signal even though it could be trash. “Boom”.. a terrible signal turns out to be a bobby pin and Cara’s diamond wedding ring. More than one type metal next to each other can give false signals..  Experienced metal detector people know this.

Cara was very happy that her sentimental ring has not been lost forever .

*** Emily lives in San Clemente, CA. blocks away from the beach. She had taken her small daughter to the beach to get out of the house for a while. When she got home, her very small gold ring was not on her finger. She was positive that she had it on when she was at the beach.

Emily called me after a friend gave her my contact information. Usually I wait till the beach is clear of people sitting on the sand, but I met her at the location, knowing I would only have to wait a hour or so to have the whole beach to myself. It was more important to get a definite location.  This time I was lucky, I didn’t have to wait. The small ring was in a clear area between two beach blankets. Emily was standing right next to me. A awesome recovery and return to a happy mother with her little child as a witness.

*** I was parked at Newport Beach pier eating lunch in my car, when I received a call from Hau. His wife had dropped her Platinum wedding band in the sand at Balboa Beach two miles away from where I was parked.

He told me they had been searching the sand for almost two hours with no success. I always have my detector in my car, so I could meet them in 15 minutes.  I didn’t need to ask very many questions after they said it was in a small area where they were sitting.

I  drove directly to a parking space less than 25 yards from where they waited for me. It was another quick recovery, probably less than 10 minutes after turning on my metal detector.

They were very happy to have the ring recovered. Hau said, he was impressed at how fast I was able to get to his location. It’s not always like that, in the summer it can take as long as an hour just to find a parking place.

Wedding Ring found with metal detector in Huntington Beach

When Alyssa lost her wedding ring at the beach she asked a lifeguard for help and he gave her my contact info. I arrived a short time later and Alyssa told me she got up out of her chair and the ring fell into the sand.

This was a quick recovery since she knew the area of the loss. Alyssa and her family were visiting from Colorado and now she has her ring to take home with her.
