Leona and her husband went out to the backyard to clean off some fabric that had gotten soiled in their house. Sometime after they returned back into their home, Leona realized that her 14 karat yellow gold classic wedding band was no longer on her finger. It was possible that it came off due to recent weight loss and it was a little chilly outside at the time that the couple were washing off the dirty material.

Immediately, the couple went outside to see if they could find the missing wedding band, but unfortunately all of their efforts led to no available. They even acquired a metal detector and searched all of the grassy areas where they had been walking around, and still there was no wedding band to be found.

At some point, David went on to the internet and searched for a new answer to their great predicament. Thankfully, THE RING FINDERS website popped up on the screen and soon thereafter I was contacted by the couple.

I was so happy to be invited over to the couple’s Gambrills, Maryland home where I conducted the ring search. Leona and David showed me where they had been working in the backyard. Before I began I investigation, the three of us shared a prayer together, asking the Lord to help me find Leona’s missing keepsake.

Thankfully, within a very short period of time, I was able to successfully recover Leona’s precious wedding band in the backyard of their lovely property!

It turned out that the wedding band landed within a couple of inches of a metal drainage grate where excess water flows down into the pipe and sent towards the rear of the lawn. At first, I wasn’t able to find the ring anywhere in the grass. When I saw the grate, I thought to use my handheld detector and carefully inspect the grass right near the drain. I wondered if that large piece of metal had been masking the precious metal signal that David and I had been looking for with our detectors. My assumption proved to be correct! Upon using the pinpointer, I picked up a signal that was separate from the metal grate and when I inspected the small object that was buried between the blades of grass below, there it was… I found it! I recovered Leona’s irreplaceable gold ring!

The couple was extremely excited and quite intrigued with how I used my professional equipment, my ring finding experience, as well as my faith in God’s help to be able to solve yet another ring mystery!

After I surprised the couple with the fantastic news, the three of us hung out in the house, thanked the Lord for answering our prayer and we all celebrated the return of Leona’s ring over a delicious cup of coffee! Nothing could have been better!

Metal Detecting Lost Gold Ring at Calvert Beach in Leonardstown, Maryland…Found by Member of The Ring Finders

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Peter’s 14 karat yellow gold ring with center jade stone which represents his commitment and engagement to his fiancé Zoe.

Peter and Zoe sharing their excitement as Peter holds up his very special commitment ring on the Calvert Beach shore of the Chesapeake Bay near Long Beach, Maryland. They could not have been happier for the successful recovery of their lost ring by the efforts of metal detectorist and member of THE RING FINDERS, Brian Rudolph.

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

Peter and Zoe were strolling along the Chesapeake Bay shore of Calvert Beach located in Leonardstown, Maryland, near Long Beach. The couple were picking up shells and enjoying the beautiful scenery together.

At some point, Peter looked down at his hand and noticed that his very special 14 karat yellow gold ring with a large jade stone in the center was missing from his finger. This piece of jewelry meant a great deal to Peter because it was a symbol of his commitment to his fiancé and it was bought to represent his own engagement ring of sorts.

Immediately the couple searched for the lost sentimental keepsake but none of their efforts proved to be successful. What started as a fun little vacation away from home turned out to be extremely upsetting and disappointing especially for Peter.

Sometime during that evening, the couple went online searching for an answer to their very difficult situation. Thank goodness THE RING FINDERS website appeared on their phone screen and they immediately searched for a local metal detectorist to come and help them find Peter’s lost ring. That’s where I come into the story.

After talking with Peter about all of the details regarding the loss of his engagement ring, I planned a two hour trip the following day to Leonardstown, Maryland in order to recover Peter’s special jewelry from the Chesapeake Bay.

When I arrived, I had to walk about a half mile down along path which eventually took me down by the water. Peter and Zoe showed me the stretch of shoreline where they were gathering up shells and presumably lost the gold ring. As soon as I got an accurate picture of what we were dealing with, I returned back to my vehicle to gather up just the right metal detecting equipment and tools that I would need to conduct the search.

The metal detecting project involved swinging the detector coil down into the water about a foot and a half or so deep. As I focused on one particular area where Peter had been searching for shells, I eventually picked up a very promising target signal on my machine. Upon digging up the item, unfortunately it turned out to be some miscellaneous piece of metal.

After approximately an hour of searching the Chesapeake surf, I returned to a particular target signal that was clearly not my client’s yellow gold and jade ring. However, I wondered if this massive piece of buried iron could have masked the gold signal that I was hoping to pick up on my metal detector. Therefore, I methodically dug up the metal and discarded it out of the water and then began to swing my detector once again over that area. To my greatest surprise and excitement, there was a perfect target signal that indicated that I might have detected a gold ring below the wet sand just inches away from the water line. My hunch ended up being correct! I found the ring! I successfully uncovered Peter’s most handsome 14 karat yellow gold “commitment ring” with a very exquisite jade stone set in the center of the piece of jewelry! I was so thrilled at my discovery!

Minutes later, I had the pleasure of surprising the lovely couple with my find and they could not have been more blown away by what this ring finder dug up from the shore of the Chesapeake Bay! Peter and Zoe were extremely grateful for my successful efforts and all of the hours that I had to travel to the search site and then back to my residence. There’s nothing more gratifying than to assist such wonderful people who wanted to preserve a very special part of their romantic love story!

Parents of American University Student in Washington DC Lose Engagement Ring on Campus…Found After Hiring Ring Finder

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Debra’s exquisite platinum engagement ring with hinged band and 2.75 carat cushion cut diamond… miraculously recovered from the road after the jewelry was run over by vehicle tires!

Debra and Mark so very happy that their very special diamond engagement ring was recovered – both band and stone!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

Debra and Mark flew in from San Diego, California to visit their daughter at American University as she was settling in at her new school. The three of them went for a tour around the campus and during that time Debra lost her beautiful and most sentimental keepsake – her engagement ring. The piece of jewelry consisted of a platinum band with a hinge (for opening and closing the band over the knuckle of Debra’s ring finger) and a 2.75 carat cushion cut diamond secured within the lovely setting.

The family walked about 200 yards from the university school buildings down to a grassy area where the three of them sat and relaxed in a lovely serene environment. Then, they returned to the main campus drive and walked back up a steep hill in the direction of the educational buildings that they had originally came from.

As soon as the family reached the top of the hill, Debra realized that her irreplaceable diamond ring was missing from her finger. She had suspected that the hinge on the band must have opened up while she was brushing off some dirt from her pants when she stood up off of the grass down by the pretty field where they sat. Immediately, the group headed back to the grassy area to look for the lost jewel, but unfortunately all of their efforts led to no avail.

Sometime during that same day, Debra and Mark went on to the internet and searched for help and that’s when they found the elite international directory of metal detectorists called THE RING FINDERS. Soon after searching for a local metal detectorist, I was contacted by the couple.

I was so happy to come out to American University in Washington DC to assist Debra and Mark in their quest to find their lost sentimental keepsake. When I arrived, I contacted the couple and we arranged a place for us to meet. They would be coming from one of the educational buildings and would walk down the same hill where Debra realized that her precious jewel was no longer on her finger. I encouraged the couple to keep their eyes focused on the concrete just in case the hinge of the band opened up somewhere on their walk back up the hill after hanging out in the grassy area.

I am so excited to share that as I met up with Debra and Mark in the middle of the road, part way down the hill, there it was…the hinged band… right there in the middle of the concrete paved drive! As I studied it carefully, it was quite apparent that it had been run over by a vehicle at least once! I couldn’t believe what I was looking at! However, just when one would think that there was light at the end of the very dark tunnel for my clients, unfortunately that light turned out to be another oncoming train! Upon looking at the damaged platinum band, there was no diamond secured within its setting! It was gone! The immediate thought was that perhaps a tire tread picked up the 2.75 carat cushion shaped diamond and carried it away up the campus road! That very moment was extremely stressful for the couple in realizing that If that theory was accurate, they would never see their special jewel ever again!

Even in the midst of such a crisis, everyone leaned down towards the road and carefully searched for the diamond. Then, perhaps a minute later, Debra let out an overwhelming cheer and an extreme sigh of relief! She found the diamond, her precious and most beautiful piece of ice was lying on the concrete perhaps a foot or so away from where the band had been identified! All of us together could not believe the outcome of this unbelievable recovery! The couple thanked me over and over again for encouraging them to keep their eyes to the ground and for my assistance as we all rendezvoused at the spot where the jewelry was found!

For the next 45 minutes, there was such a spirit of elation that each one of us experienced right there on the American University campus! It was an indescribable time of celebration and excitement! In less than 24 hours, my clients would be leaving on a plane bound for their home in San Diego and Debra and Mark would be boarding with that beautiful “symbol of love” that represented that special moment in time when Mark popped the question…and Debra of course answered a resounding ‘yes’!

Lost Sentimental Gold Wedding Band Found in the Snow, Portland, Maine.

  • from Old Orchard Beach (Maine, United States)

On Monday January 23, 2023, I received a text from someone who lost a very sentimental wedding band, in the snow. Fred, had been cleaning the snow off of his car, during a storm that would eventually drop 10-12 inches of fresh snow on the area, along with sleet and freezing rain.  When Fred got back into his house, he noticed his custom made wedding ring was missing. He went out looking for it around his car but had no luck locating the ring. Fred states that he started to panic, as the plow would be coming back through and was afraid of the plow would take it down the road and be forever lost. Fred rust back inside and frantically searched online on how to find a lost ring in the snow. At that point, Fred found The Ring Finders website. Fred then contacted me with the text message. I immediately called Fred back and let him know that because of the snow day I would not be able to make it to Portland because I was home alone with my 5 year old granddaughter whose Kindergarten school had been canceled. The police were also asking everyone not to travel because of the weather. I then told Fred that if he could shovel the snow from around the car and throw it up onto the lawn, it would be safe from the plow and I could get out to his place the next day or so, if he so desires. Fred said he would let me know and went back outside and shoveled all the snow around his car, up onto the lawn.

I did not hear back from Fred until 3 days later , when he texted me and let me know that he and his wife had been sifting through the snow that he had thrown up onto the lawn and had found the priceless ring.
InFred’s own words.   “Just wanted to let you know that we searched the snow I put on the grass again tonight and found my ring! Thank you so so so much for that idea! I was totally losing my head and you helped keep me sane and I got my ring back thanks to your quick thinking! ”

Fred then went on to tell me how the custom ring was made.Again, in Fred’s own words.                        “It’s gold and white gold with a ruby. It was made along side my wife’s by melting down some old family rings that were given to us for that purpose.” “My wife’s is two rings. The engagement ring sits inside the wedding band. It’s rubies and sapphires.”

So even though I did not find his ring with my detector, I feel absolutely elated that this very sentimental ring is back where it belongs, on Fred’s finger. Fred sent me a photo of his ring and his wife’s custom made ring. Beautiful and now back together

Lost Ring Found in Warwick RI

In the summer, I received a call from Matthew, who lost his wedding ring while playing catch with his young daughter.  He threw the ball in the air, and his ring went with it.  After searching the entire backyard unsuccessfully, he decided to consult the internet for help and found the Ring Finders website. I searched for over 4 hours without any luck. I promised Matt that I would return the next day to continue the search, which was tough due to lots of rocks and brush.  After 2 hours, I located his ring.  I almost gave up, but I’m glad I didn’t.  As you can tell, Matt was very happy to get his ring back.

I received a phone call yesterday in regards to a lost diamond ring, we talked for a little bit on the phone and I asked a few questions and the young lady was honest enough to tell me she got mad and threw the rings out the front door. These are never moments you’re proud of, but they happen more than you know and the most important thing is finding that ring and getting it back to them. We met up this morning and she showed me the areas where the rings were thrown. She told me husband found the other rings and earrings, but could not find the engagement ring, there was snow on the driveway at the time that was shovelled off to the side, that was a possibility, also a hedge in front of their front door that she threw them in the first time, but he found all of them so he thought.

I searched all along the side of the driveway in case it got shovelled off to the side, but no luck. I then took it to the hot spot, the hedge in front of the door, and within 45 minutes of detecting and moving all the dirt from underneath the hedge onto a piece of plastic I was able to locate the Beautiful diamond engagement ring. I could tell how much it meant to her to get it back and how happy she was, I absolutely love my job.

Ring lost in San Diego park found

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Bon was playing volleyball at a local park and decided to put his wedding ring in his pocket instead of wearing it. At a certain point after jumping and chasing the ball during a typical game, he checked his pocket and found the ring missing. This wasn’t his first experience with losing this ring, so, he knew who to call…. a Ring Finder. I was out detecting myself, but, quite a ways away when he called. I got to the park just before sunset and started my search in some fairly tall, unmowed grass. Bon was uncertain as to what metal his ring was made of, but, that he thought it was silver. I ran a grid pattern looking for a shallow high conductor, but, nothing of that sort was found. After expanding the search area a bit and still no ring, I went back to the main volleyball court and started checking for ANY shallow target with a good solid sound.  It was getting dark and cold, but, after a couple of passes I got a nice low tone in the U.S. nickel range that was right on top of the ground, but, under a few inches of grass. A probe with the pin pointer and sure enough, it was his ring. We were both happy to leave the park and go home to a warm house and hot meal.
