Lost Gold Wedding Band In 3 Foot Of Water At Low Tide, Found And Returned

Susan was wading out along the Emerald Isle coastline very close to Bogue Inlet Pier.  While standing in 3-4 foot of water and larger waves crashing into the shoreline, she was having a brief conversation with a younger man standing nearby.  He had told her that he couldn’t swim but it was such a beautiful day to be out enjoying the day.  One of the larger waves came roaring in and sent Susan and the young man tumbling toward the shoreline.  Before the young man was washed out from a riptide, Susan grabbed him and tried to pull him back up.  She felt her parent’s wedding band slip off of her finger.

Jeff, a detectorist was in the are and Susan asked for his help right away.  After a brave attempt in the rough surf, Jeff was getting beat up by the waves and had to give up the attempt to recover her ring.  Jeff suggested she contact The Ring Finders.  After making a post on a local Facebook group, Susan received many comments to contact TRF’s and Steve Ray.  Within 2 hours of the ring being lost and the tide coming back in, it was decided the next day’s low tide would be the best chance.

I met Susan and she showed me the area she was in and I headed into the surf at 1:00pm.  Low tide this day was 2:05pm and After finding 2 sinkers, a fishing leader, 2 pennies and a dime I pulled Susan’s cherished ring up from the depths of over 3 foot of water at 2:20pm.  I was out as far as I could have walked & hunted safely with the waves and rip current possibilities.  I admit, I too was worn out from the bashing waves and when I saw her ring in my scoop, I was so glad to get out of that water for the day!

After a contacting another person to find a wedding band lost along Topsail Beach, NC failed, Rosanna contacted www.TheRingFinders.com member Steven Ray.  This ring was lost in the surf 4 days prior.

From Tears To Cheers!

Rosanna’s story:

Saturday, May 21 was our first beach trip of the season, little did I know it would end in tears.
I was close to the shoreline with my daughter, my husband came up to us to let me know he was going to swim further out into the ocean.  He stopped himself and said, “oh my ring”.
This November will be 10 years that we’ve been married and he’s lost quite a bit of weight since the day I placed his ring on his finger, so it was already a bit loose on him.
I gave him that look that wives give their husband’s (lol) and asked him to let me hang onto it so he wouldn’t lose it.
I was facing the ocean and my daughter was beside me with her back to the ocean. I had my right arm across my body holding her left hand to help her jump over the waves.  I let go of her hand so that I could hold it with my left hand, the same hand that I had placed my husband’s ring on.  Before I knew it a bigger wave knocked my daughter over, she reached to grab my hand but her little fingers just glided over my hand and she wasn’t able to catch her grip, she had loosened my husband’s ring on my finger and it slipped off.  I immediately gasped and let out a “no”!  I fell to my knees and started to desperately search for his ring, but to no avail.  My heart just sank, I couldn’t believe I had just asked him to let me hang onto it so he wouldn’t lose it and yet, I was the one who had lost it.
After about 15 minutes of crying, searching, getting knocked around from wave after wave, after wave, I walked back up to my beach chair and sat their defeated.  I remember looking out into the ocean and thinking to myself, there has to be someone out there that can find it.  I pulled my phone out and searched on Google, hiring someone who has a metal detector.  Then my next search, hire someone to find a ring at North Topsail.  (Rosanna contacted someone with a Facebook Group page that she mentioned but I choose to omit)  I called him right away, he told me he was out of town but would start his search as soon as he returned.  I received a call from him 3 days later to let me know that he would be heading out the following day to try and look for my husband’s ring.  The next morning he sent me a text stating that he had spent about an hour doing a grid search but had no luck finding the ring.  I remember how disheartening reading that text felt.  I asked if he would be willing to expand his grid and also offered a reward if found.  He let me know that he was confident in his search and was not able to find it, I paid him for his services.  I called my husband on my lunch break, crying, telling him that Chris couldn’t find it and apologizing to him again for having lost it.  I’ll never forget the sincerity in his voice asking me not to cry and telling me that it was ok.
After that call, and composing myself, I heavily debated about posting something online in the hopes that an honest person had found it and would return it, but, I started to think about how people get “second opinions” all the time!  So, back to searching I went, but this time I tried Facebook and that’s when I found your company Steve, Crystal Coast Ring Finders.  A big part of me had already accepted that my husband’s ring was gone forever but I just had to give it one more try.
The level of professionalism that you provided Steve, along with Justin, was unmatched by the first company I contacted, I only wish I had found your company first.  Before I knew it, I was at the beach with Justin and he went straight to work, I could tell he was a man on a mission!  As we left Justin to his search, my family and I headed back home to Jacksonville to get my kiddos ready for bed.  I received a call from Justin even before we made it back to our home, he sent me a picture and I couldn’t believe it, he had found my husband’s wedding ring!!!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!  Thank you for your commitment, dedication, professionalism, compassion, and understanding!  I just knew there had to be someone out there that could find it, I’m beyond happy that I was able to find the right company to get the job done!!!!

Ring Lost On Popular Beach Location Found One Month Later By Crystal Coast Ring Finders

Bogue Inlet Pier – Emerald Isle, NC

Lauren visited Bogue Inlet Pier on September 7th with her son as was wading in the surf when a larger wave knocked her over.  She told me her hands went into the sand and she felt her chocolate diamond ring slide off of her finger.  She was very upset but noticed a man out with his detector and went to him for help.  Bogue Inlet Pier (BIP) gets a lot of beach traffic and also many detectorist come there to search for “treasures”.   After being unable to find her ring, the gentleman suggested she contact Crystal Coast Ring Finders.  I made plans to hunt the very next low tide early in the morning and only a few hours after the loss of the ring.  The surf was still very strong and I too was unsuccessful.  Lauren was very upset when I talked with her and I felt terrible I could not make the recovery that morning.  I live near BIP and each time I went there to hunt the beach, I made it a point to search the area of Lauren’s lost ring.  Recently, we had some sand movement that allowed the replenished beach sand to move.  This created a low spot near the water’s edge.  To my surprise, after so many days lost and I’m sure, many other metal detectors hunting the same area, her ring was rescued on the evening of October 7th.  It was about 50 yards further West on the beach.  I had not met Lauren yet and messaged her to tell her I needed her to fill out my standard search contract.  We agreed to meet at her father’s business.  After we met and she completed the search contract without knowing I had her lost ring,.. I gave her one of my business cards.  When she turned the card over, her lost ring was taped to the back of the card.  She burst into tears.  I was very happy that something very good happened to Lauren this year as she explained it hadn’t been going well.

Diamond Platinum Ring Lost On Beach Found By Crystal Coast Ring Finders

JoEllen was spending time with her parents sitting on the Emerald Isle beach along the shoreline.  They were sitting down by the water so they could put their feet in the waves.  She had explained to me she had taken off her very special ring and placed it in her glasses case prior to going to the beach.  While on the beach, she decided to put on her glasses and forgot the ring was also in the case.  It wasn’t until the next morning she had realized the ring was missing and she called Crystal Coast Ring Finders.  The beach sand was very soft and very little items were found during the search.  Her ring was eventually found under about 12 inches of sand.  This was a very challenging search but when you can successfully return an important item to the owner, it makes it worth the effort!

Swansboro Cast Net Fling Results In Lost Class Ring

Bailee was spending the day with her parents along the White Oak river trying to catch shrimp using a cast net.  They were throwing the net from a high wooden walkway.  During one toss, Bailee’s gold college class ring slipped off of her finger into the rivers soft muddy bottom.  Bailee’s father started an online search and found Crystal Coast Ring Finders.  Just after the call, I was on my way.  To my surprise, getting close to the ring was a challenge in itself as the bottom was very soft in places and water access was also a bit of a challenge.  After pulling up various items of trash, I locked onto a strong 12 signal on the Minelab Equinox 800.  The scoop was filled with the black mud but the signal was no longer on the bottom.  After a few seconds of sifting out the mud and debris, Bailee’s ring was shining in the bottom of my scoop.  I loved the reaction from her as her eyes lit up and she jumped with joy

Emerald Isle Fishing Trip Involves Lost Ring Almost Getting Away

David, Kayla and her mother were spending an evening on the beach fishing the shoreline.  Kayla had taken off her engagement ring and placed it in a small bowl.  Just after David caught a fish, Kayla headed down to the water to get a closer look.  Unfortunately, the bowl, holding Kayla’s ring spilled onto the beach just as darkness was setting in.  I happened to be in the area about an hour later and David approached me to ask for my help finding this wonderful ring.  After a few passes and as they were packing up to leave, I was able to pull her ring from the beach.  I was very happy to return this for them as Kayla’s mother told me when I began searching that David had just returned from military service in Afghanistan.    I thank him and all that protect us for their service to our country!

North Myrtle Beach Ear Ring Find Leads To Lost Washington, NC Ring Being Found

John found out about his friend’s lost ear ring being found by Ring-Finder Jim Wren in the North Myrtle Beach sand.  It was that moment John discovered the great service The Ring Finders provide.

John had lost his gold wedding band two month prior.  John was spending the day at a family member’s house playing with the kids all over the yard.  This is when the ring fell off without John realizing it was gone.  This ring had very special meaning as it belonged to his Grandfather.  John messaged Crystal Coast Ring Finders and a day was planned to search the whole yard.  Communication was very important to try to pinpoint the location of activity but the yard was full of various debris making this search difficult.  Persistence paid off as the ring was found near a buried metallic item in the backyard.  The sun was hot and the bugs were hungry.  I was very happy the search was a success.

Lost Ring In Richlands, NC Yard Found By Crystal Coast Ring Finders

Lajuan texted Crystal Coast Ring Finders about his ring he recently lost while cutting grass.  He believed it would be near the road ditch where his mower had gotten stuck that day.  After an hour of searching he front yard scrupulously,  a short search in the backyard near the back privacy fence produced his wonderful ring.  The day was heating up quickly, so it was a perfect time to ring his doorbell and return his ring that had been lost for days.

Lost Gold Ring Found On Surf City, NC Beach

Bridget was walking with her friend and a dog along the Atlantic Ocean coastline on a Surf City Beach.  It may have been the dog on the leash but Bridget had felt her birthstone ring slide off of her finger into the high tide wave currents.  She was able to get a quick glimpse of the ring before a wave came in and moved items about.  Bridget called me the very next morning and I headed her way to meet her and her father.  She was very good at knowing the area the ring had come off and the 2nd target I dug was her beautiful gold ring laying under 4 inches of sand.  Bridgette had explained she received this ring on her 21st birthday and it had very special meaning.  I was very happy to see her reaction when she knew I had found it.

Diamond Wedding Rings Lost Two Months Ago Found In Morehead City Waters

Amanda explained to me, two months ago, her daughter had cut her foot in the waters of a small Morehead City, NC beach.  During the excitement, Amanda had taken off her long sleeve coverup shirt to wrap her daughters food on the beach.  She told me that is where she thought her rings were pulled from her finger.  She explained she had a group with metal detectors come out the July 4th weekend to help locate the missing rings.  It wasn’t until a friend had heard about The Ring Finders on a radio broadcast and this lead Amanda to contact Crystal Coast Ring Finders.  My first attempt was to thoroughly search the beach and shallow water.  This beach was full of various garbage, mostly aluminum which is a nemesis to detectorist.  My second day attempt was planned so that it would be during a low tide and more importantly, early enough in the morning that nobody would be in the way of my search.  I arrived at 6am, just before it was getting light enough to see.  I began a search from beach to water and back.  Each time I would go in just above knee deep water as Amanda told me it happened at low tide that day and the deepest she went was knee deep water.  I must admit my doubts of finding the rings lost in a public area 2 months prior were in my mind.  I also knew if I don’t try all possible areas, I wouldn’t be assured I tried my best.  The waters still produced a large amount of aluminum and each time I would try to scoop the target and dump it into my floating sifter.  I was in an area with multiple targets around me when I dumped a scoopful and was about to dig again when I glanced over to see Amanda’s wedding band laying in the basket.  I was in knee deep water at the time.  The very next scoop raised her beautiful engagement ring!

Amanda was very close by and I called her just before 8 am to ask her to come down and help me narrow my search area because of the numerous garbage items I was digging.  Amanda showed up with her daughter and at one point when she looked away, I held out both of her lost rings.  She looked back and noticed in disbelief her rings in my hand.  It is moments like this that make me proud to return items that have so much meaning!
