Mark was out doing yard work at his mother’s house, specifically cleaning out the growth in a chain link fence line. He got in his car to leave and you guessed it his wedding ring was not on his finger.  He spent hours looking along with some help but nothing.  His friend said a metal detector could locate it. True, it will also locate everything you aren’t looking for either. He decided the best use of his time and money was to ask someone from the Ring Finders.com for help. He found their site on Reddit.  Within an hour we met and the search being.  While he was picking up his daughter from school I got the sweet signal. Not in the area he suspected it would be found but none the less still in an area he was working in. Always my honor to put a smile back on a face. Gerald was enjoying some late summer fishing from his kayak on the lake. Of all the items he equipped himself that day with, one was a fishing pole that he got when he was 12 when his dad taught him to use it. He lost his balance and went port side in. As his life jacket kept him afloat, 4 rods, 2 tackle boxes and a pair of pliers sank quickly in the 15′ deep water as he grabbed the kayak and flipped it back over. He returned the next day and tried to magnet fish for anything that might stick. After 2 hours the only thing that stuck was the magnet between 2 big rocks at the bas of the dam. This seemed like a good challenge so I hit the lake a few days later and the rest is history. Was my honor to recover his items especially the irreplaceable rod that held so many memories.

Tom texted me late at night, desperately looking for help. I was already out cold. Later when we connected he told me that Angels ring had come off while they were on a remote part of a lake, boat beached and everyone enjoying some time cooling off in the water. They had spent hours diving down and feeling around for it. These types of losses are devastating, rings have such stories behind them and what they represent between two people is a unique thing in itself.  They were from out of town, so we worked through a map and later after I boated to the area we tried to narrow the area of the big lake down even some more. Unfortunately I knew that this was a party cove and decades of cans, pull tabs, pull rings, vapes, molton aluminum from shore line camp fires and fishing weights lay scattered in the area ready to hide the signal of a ring. Once I knew what the ring was made out of and the size of it I was able to narrow down the signal from experience.  A few hours later he got a picture that they both had been praying for. I drove out of town to deliver it because I knew she didn’t need another sleepless night. Always my honor to help put a priceless smile back on a face.

Dorothy called me asking if I might be able to help find her husband Jim’s  bracelet that he lost while doing yard work. I headed over and we talked about his activities. As I headed back to my car to grab my metal detector, boom, out of the corner of my eye some irregular lines caught my attention.  No way! Yes, one of the quickest recoveries. This is exactly how we want them to end. Items back to owners and smiles on their faces. Always an honor. Dorothy, a writer signed and gave me one of her books. Kenyon was out on the lake enjoying the cool sand pit water with his wife of less then 2 months.  As we have seen before, the ring grew 2 sizes while in the water and slid right off. The group got on the internet and found me on the ring finders. He told me that it was most like over 6′ deep of water. Regardless I always pack my Blu3 Nomad dive system.  I ended up laying out a grid line on the lake bottom and with the Manticore dive boost volume on, powering the modified Tony Eisenhower headphones. This is the first time I did it but I also turned on the Manticore handle vibrate mode also. This made short work.

Always an honor to return such an irreplaceable item such as this. They were a blast to work with and I wish them many years together.

Wedding ring of 21 years dive recovered Lake MacConaughy Nebraska

Shawn and Cheri were enjoying the beautiful lake side camping with friends and family.  Lake MacConaughy is a cool lake compared to many in Nebraska as it has springs that feed it. Late in the evening Shawn took one last cool down swim in the lake and that’s when it happened.  His ring of 21 years symbolizing his love and commitment to his wife and family came off. They searched for hours. Taking turns diving with the kids goggles and feeling around. Devastated they had to call it a night. The next day Cheri found me on the internet and told me of the situation.  This is exciting why I added dive recoveries to my services. I told her I could come out the next day as it was getting late already.  Shawn showed me the are and I determined that a grid line parallel to the waterline was going to be the game plan. Always an honor to recover and return such an irreplaceable item to someone.

Jenna had just gotten a new oura ring. It just so happens that alot of the outlets in her house are just above the hvac registers. While taking it off the charger she dropped it, yes directly into the vent. Her house has flexible duct lines and it rolled deep between the floor joists. I had to run my snake camera 6′ down just to see it. After a few experiments with different made tools I was able to extract it. My camera on my endoscope died just as we retrieved it. So no video. Always an honor to help someone out and experience a new challenge along the way.

Brandon was out in his kayak enjoying the nice weather and the calm waters for fishing.  When he got back on the dock, he realized his phone was missing.  He was able to put me in the suspect area because of the last ping.  I tested water depth and immediately went to get my dive gear. 5 minutes after decending on my downline I located it. Always an honor to help someone out and enjoy a new place to dive.

Trey was enjoying the 4th of July holiday in the refreshing lake when….   you guessed it. His wedding ring of 2 years sank to the bottom.  They got face masks and spent time diving down with no success.  They turned to the internet, found me and I told him I’d be honored to come recovery it on the 5th out of the private lake.

“Hi Robert! My name’s Summer and I just found you on Ringfinders. I have just lost my recently-passed grandmother’s ring. She suddenly lost her life this past March and my family and I have been nothing short of distraught. She wore this ring every day and even had it on when she passed. I know you’re based in Lincoln, so it’s a bit of a longshot, but I lost my ring in the Red Willow Reservoir in Mccook. It’s a long drive and quite the ask, but this ring means the world to me and I am at a loss of what to do. Your success rate is nothing short of significant, and I would so greatly appreciate your help.”
