Received a call from a Mr Kenny Rodman from Southbourne, Dorset. After spending a few hours on the beach Kenny decided to cool off in the sea. He had been enjoying a family day out on the beach with wife Amanda and son Cameron. Whilst only a few feet out he hsad the sensation his wedding band felt loose so clenched his fingers tight. However, leaving the beach almost on all fours he felt the ring come off and slip beneath the waves. Understandibly he returned on several occasions scouring the sand hoping by some miricle it would reveal itself. Alas it didnt. It was his wife Amanda who sort the help of The Ring Finders and I met Kenny the following morning. No sooner than my coil entered the water it gave an almost indistinguishable tone of gold so I decided to scoop it. Luckily I was right as the ring had buried itself some 8″ under due to the breaking waves. Kenny and his wife were extremely pleased at the rings return, Kenny is no longer in the dog house and a generous donation to the Air Ambulance was made by themkennyphoto.

Holidaymakers Mr & Mrs Craig Petty from Shrewesbury spent a great day on Swanage Beach. The weather was fine, warm and idyllic  for your typical British ‘getaway’.   Unfortunately though brushing off the sand lead Craig to also brushing off his ring. His desperate search, sifting through the sands caught the attention of a particular lady near by. She had successfully used me and the Ring Finders only weeks before for her daughter in law Hollie Lawrence.

I assured Craig not to worry, put a towel over the location and id be there a few hours later. Sure enough the ring was there, HAD sunk deeper due to the previous sifting and back on his finger within minutes. A very grateful Mr Petty made a kind donation to the Air Ambulance.photo (5)photo (7)

Mens Gold Wedding Band Lost On Studland Beach, Dorset

Mr & Mrs Pete Nobbs from Halesowen, West Mids & their son Matt enjoyed a break in Dorset and visited the picturesque beach of Studland, Dorset.  That evening they returned to their hotel minus Petes gold wedding band that had slipped off his finger into the advancing tide as he waded through the sandy waters with his son. They spent hours in vain searching to no avail. Coincidentally they recalled seeing the BBC TV report on me & The Ring Finders only the night before!

They called me that evening and we met an hour later on the beach where the tide by now was much higher than earlier. We searched the dry and wet sand… nothing! Our search then lead us into the waters trying to retrace their steps. However after searching like this and without the need of the detector.. still sitting upright and proud of the sand.. the ring revealed itself. Its such a good feeling to make people happy again and see the gratitude and the Nobbs family certainly showed theirs.   They also kindly donated to the Air Ambulance to which I am most gratefulphoto (4)photo (6).

Lost On Southbourne Beach- Gold Signet Ring With Single Diamond

photo (2)Monday 12th August found a very sad holiday maker packing his clothes into his suitcase preparing for his long journey home to Liverpool. Everything was there, ready and packed…. all bar his beautiful single diamond signet ring which once belonged to his farther. Mr Bill Owens of Liverpool caught a glimpse of the BBC TV report of The Ring Finders as he was packing and decided to try his luck as all else had failed to recover the ring.

After being swamped by a large wave the ring slipped off into 3-4  feet of rough sea waters approximately a week before and I explained the recovery might prove difficult. After 3 visits totaling 5 hours with very choppy waters, ripping currents and sea weed banks I hit pot luck. Suddenly through my  headphones my machine gave out an almighty cry like the noise of stepping on a dogs tail! Its a particular noise to detectorists who after many hours of fruitless, noiseless searches relish to hear. The ring was found 7 meters away than where it had been lost and probably shifted due to the strong currents.

The BBC had asked me to keep them informed of any successful recoveries and this one seemed particularly interesting to them. I am awaiting a copy of the program to upload on to the internet. Mr Owens was extremely grateful &  made a very generous donation to the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance. _69430807_69430806

Whilst enjoying rock climbing on the scenic cliffs of Portland, Dorset with his wife and friends- Mr Phil Haigh accidentally spilled the contents of his rucksack down the rocky slopes. Unfortunately the wedding ring he had so carefully placed in there also fell from the bag and seemingly disappeared. A friend of his read on Facebook of his loss of his wedding ring and gave him the Ring Finders address after seeing the recent Television story.

The walk down the slopes was breathtakingly beautiful and walk to the location was difficult in places. The ring was recovered in seconds in the long grass and a very appreciative Mr Haigh and wife made a very generous donation to the Air Ambulance to which I am most gratefulphotophoto (1)photo (3).

A Mr Jason Ganner of Bournemouth lost his precious signet ring one day whilst planting flowers in his garden.  He had lost the ring many weeks before and tried several attempts to recover it himself without a detector. The ring carried great sentimental value and had been destined like his other rings to be divided between his children one day. After reading a recent newspaper story of one of my Ringfinders.com recoveries he called me and in the presence of BBC TV South Today… we found it!!

Relieved and emotional,  Mr Ganner made a very kind donation to the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance. To view the filming footage follow this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ib-nsvPiC1M

Stunning White Gold Sapphire & Diamond Ring Lost On Swanage Beach

The 8th August 2013 had been a beautiful day in Swanage. The high temperatures and school holidays had brought many to the beach to enjoy the sun, sea and sand. All though, bar one lady- Mrs Pamela Knight on holiday to see friends for a few days. She had dropped and lost her ring into the sand and watched in horror as it quickly sank and disappeared.

I knew this time of year and idyllic conditions brought the beach treasure hunters down in their masses so time was against us. Arriving the same day at the location already there were four other detectorists combing the beach-luckily they hadn’t found it and within 10 minutes I found her lost ring in the sand.

Mrs Knight was overwhelmed as she thought she would never see her lost ring again. She paid me a huge thanks and made a kind donation to the Air Ambulance.photophoto (1)

Lost White Gold Wedding Ring In The Sea, Swanage

Received a call from a rather sad lady whos wedding ring slipped off her finger and into the sea when cleaning her hands. I couldnt make it that day as I was in London dealing with the previous recovery.  I knew the tides were slack and the sand was stable enough to hold the rings location.  The ring was safe there for now and protected by the sea from treasure hunters.  We met this morning and the ring turned up just where she said.  A rather teary eyed Mrs Hollie  Lawrence from London was relieved to say the least and immediately made a kind donation to the air ambulance.photo

Lost Mens Wedding Ring Bournemouth Beach… Part II

The same weekend as the previous ring was reported lost another was reported  just a few hundred meters away in exactly the same circumstances. The search area was large being some 1000 feet square and out to sea. Conditions had worsened and the large waves had made the water visibility zero. The previous recovery was the last piece of ‘pure luck’ I thought photoi would have for some time. To Find a ring in these conditions in under an hour was nothing short of a miracle. I delivered the ring to its owner, a Mr Pavil Penev near to his home in London and received a kind donation to the Air Ambulance together with a bottle of whiskey to which I am extremely grateful.

photo (2)Mr & Mrs R Spivey of London returned home very sad after losing a personalized engraved wedding ring in the sea off Bournemouth. The warm July weekend and large waves attracted many bathers and sadly many lost items of jewelry resulted. My first attempt was impossible. High waters, ripping current, large swell and waves made my attempts over the next three days very difficult and the likelihood of recovery almost nil. By some miracle, after a total of nearly 5 hours searching …. that ring found me! The couple were both over joyed and made a very kind donation to the air ambulance.rich
