This ring find began when I got a call from Kaedan who was on a babymoon with his wife Holly from Dallas, Texas and stated that Aloha Security informed him that I was the Resort’s detectorist and if I could make it out to Ulua Lagoon to recover his Yellow Gold Wedding band from shallow water. He told me it fell off his finger as he was catching a football. I told him I could head his way in about an hour and Kaedan said he would meet me on the beach. When I arrived, Kaedan hadn’t arrived so I started a grid search where he showed me in a FaceTime chat we had. As I was coming back in from the first leg, I saw Kaedan walking towards me. We discussed the search area and we widened the grid just to be sure. As soon as my detector touched the water I found a Tungsten Wedding Band with three diamonds. Well that’s a good sign! I continued on. During the hunt I found a Gold Hooped earring and a lead elephant head pendant. As I was nearing the extreme edge of the grid I could see a look of hopelessness on Kaedan’s face. Then, “BOOM” in thigh deep water I got a great tone and in one scoop there was the Gold Band. A look of pure relief came over Kaedan’s face as I handed him his ring. Babymoon saved! Congrats & Aloha to Kaedan & Holly!
