MENS WEDDING BAND LOST AT EMERALD WATER PARK, PUSLINCH, ONTARIO

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

Joel took his kids for an afternoon outing at Emerald Lake Trailer Resort & Water Park in Puslinch, Ontario.

He went down the water slide and felt his wedding band slip off his finger into the water below.

We are grateful to obtain permission from the owners to look for his wedding band near the end of the day not to disturb the patrons! Emerald Lake is a private trailer resort as well as a water park open to the public! Check out their website at emeraldlake.ca

I proceeded into the water with my floating battery operated air system called the DIVE BLU3 NOMAD. The nomad has a 30 foot hose and pumps air on demand down through the hose to my regulator! With a weight belt at slightly negative buoyancy, I am able navigate with ease to operate my underwater metal detector to find Joel’s wedding band!

Unfortunately, the visibility was extremely poor due to the silty bottom! There were numerous targets such as trash, small pieces of jewelry, pop cans, and pull tabs.
My metal detector and pin pointer helped me zone in on a solid loud target after approximately 40 minutes in the water!

HURRAY!! This target was Joel’s beautiful gold wedding band! Joel and his Wife were absolutely thrilled to have his wedding band back on his finger!

Happy to help recover Joel’s precious wedding band and grateful for permission from the owners at Emerald Lake Trailer & Water Park!

Pike Lake, Minto, Ontario~2nd visit~Lost gun metal wedding band in the water 2nd time back!

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

2017-09-25 Pike Lake, Minto, Ontario (2nd visit back)

So the August 14th, 2017 Ring recovery & return for Heather R’s late Uncle Paul was sent around via email to all the trailer owners/members at the Pike Lake Private Community. One of the trailer owners Shawn H had just read the story.  Shawn and his Family were having fun in the water slide and Shawn’s hand caught the loop on the water slide. He watched his unique “gun metal” wedding band with 3 black diamonds slide off his finger into the water. The bottom of the lake was thick muck. Because of my previous ring find at the lake he gave me a call. I was up at Wasaga Beach, headed home to Erin to pick up my scuba gear and tanks and then directly to Pike Lake.

I met Shawn did a quick interview, put my scuba gear on and took out both my Minelab Excallibur 2 and the Scuba Tector ready.

Anywhere from 3″ to 16″ of MUCK with zero visibility at times. The first ring I pulled out and went to the surface and said “I found it”. I described the ring as Shawn was on the beach and he said that it wasn’t his….then came the 2nd ring….then a pair of sunglasses. Shawn had to head back home with his young Family. Within 20 minutes of him leaving….B-O-O-M…I found his unique ring

I send him a text message with a picture of his ring to say “this look familiar?” They were ecstatic!! I met Sean’s wife the following day to return his ring. Unfortunately, I didn’t find her sunglasses but I’ve been invited back by the Park owners!

The ring on the left (middle photo) is the Pike Lake owners Daughter’s Husband’s wedding band with the Italian sunglasses belonging to her Friend visiting from California. DOUBLE WHAMMY!!

Video coming soon!

Still another ring to be returned to it’s rightful owner…..and an invite back in 2018!!

not 1 but 3!!

2 Lost Rings in the UBC Area / Spanish Banks…Found

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Smiles are the best things we find! I got a call from a young lady that tells me she lost two rings while on a big water slide that was made for a party with lots of friends. The rings meant a lot to Fran and she thought she’d never see the rings again so she was going to rent a metal detector and went on line and found The Ring Finders Directory.

My wife and I met Fran at 8PM just before it got dark and she showed us the huge hill where they had the slide that weekend. I could see the flatten grass where the slide was placed and this helped with our grid search.

After just minutes of turning on my big flood light we found one ring that was flattened into the ground. After a 14 hour day at work then 2 hours into the search we decided to call it a night. I knew it would take daylight to find the second ring as it was hard to do a grid in the low light we had.

We sent a picture of the ring to Fran and told her we’d go out and search on the weekend for the gold & jade ring. I went out and bought a new metal detector(Whites V3i) and I was excited to give it a go, our son wanted to join the search and Beverley and I were excited to have him as the search area was pretty huge.

I wasn’t feeling all that great when we got there and it was a hot day so I slowly started to set up my new detector and Jamie ask me if he could give it a go, I said sure and his mother let him use the Whites XLT that she was going to use. I just started to grid search when I hear Jamie and Beverley shouting…Found It! Found It! I’m thinking found what? It was almost like Jamie walked right to the ring!

With such a big area to search that day Jamie knocked it out of the park! I was so proud of him and happy to know that I could go home and rest…Like his mother he has the knack of find what people thought was lost forever.

I love my job & family!
