Lady’s White Gold Wedding Band Lost in the Sand – Found and Returned at Ocean Isle Beach, NC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

I received a late night email from Kristina on May 2nd telling me she had lost her wedding band on the beach at Ocean Isle during spring break (Apr 12th). She said if I thought it was worth it she could email me a map with the exact spot and to let her know if I was interested in helping. It was after midnight when I responded telling her that it was always worth it to at least take a shot at looking. I also included some questions in my response like where on the beach, what day, etc.

When I woke up the next morning I checked my emails and I had her response to my questions and that she’d send me a map a little later that morning. I got her map around 9am that had a satellite view of the beach with a little red dot marking the spot she lost it so I hit the road. Got to the beach, found the vicinity of the red dot on the beach and started a north/south grid in the dry sand. I think it was the 5th line when I got a good solid hit, dug and shook a scoop of sand and there was her little gold wedding band bout a size 5-6. She had also given me an inscription on the inside of the ring which I confirmed and we had a match. I sent her an email from my phone with a picture saying “Bingo” and she immediately called me. I could tell by her voice she was overwhelmed about getting her ring back. Got her treasure in the mail and it’s expected to arrive by Friday.

Wanted to wait until today (Friday) to post this so I could get a picture with her big smile.

Kristina – thank you so much for trusting in me to help find your ring and get it getting it back to where it belongs.

FITBIT Lost North Myrtle Beach – Found and Returned

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

I was out the other day doing a little metal detecting and not finding a whole lot until I came across a FITBIT laying in the sand. It had to be lost within the last hour so I hung around for a while hoping the owner would show back up. Later that night I posted it on Craigslist and after 4 days I didn’t get any response.

Fast forward to today when I contacted the FITBIT customer service department and found out that I can ship the FITBIT back to them, at their expense, and they can trace the serial number back to the original owner. So off it went and hopefully by this time next week the FITBIT will be back where it belongs.

Man’s 14K White Gold Wedding Band Lost – Found and Returned Ocean Isle Beach, NC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

I got a call just before 3pm from Katie, here on vacation with her husband, James and their two sons from NY.  Katie asked if I could help find James’ wedding band that he lost in the soft sand at Ocean Isle Beach, NC. I asked a few of the normal questions and was on my way.

I got there in about 30 minutes and met James and Katie as they were walking out on the beach. They showed me the area and I started my grid search. On the third pass I got a great tone, looked up at them and gave them a big smile and dug a scoop. After spreading out the soft sand a couple of times I finally eyeballed the ring, picked it up and handed it to James, who was very happy he had his treasure back.

Thank you Katie and James for trusting in me to help find your lost ring and the generous gift. Have a great rest of your vacation and a safe trip back home.

Lost Key FOB Lost in the Sand – Found and Returned North Myrtle Beach SC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

I got a phone call around 8:15pm from my son-in-law (Donnie), a NMB policeman, about a lady who had lost her Key FOB on the beach. A few minutes later he texted me her phone number. I contacted Dana and found out the details of what happened with her keys . She said she was sitting on the beach and decided to go into the water to take some pictures of her daughters from an ocean view. After coming out of the water and walking back to her car she realized she didn’t have her key FOB any longer. She wasn’t sure whether she lost them on the walk out on the beach, in the area she was sitting or in the water. This all happened about 7:30pm with an incoming tide. I asked her if she’d like for me to come out and see if I could find them, she agreed and I was on my way. She really didn’t have many options considering a spare FOB was at home with her husband which is about 7 hours away.

I met Dana, her father, and 2 daughters in one of the public access parking lots and we walked out to the beach. By now it was a little after 9pm so I was concerned the keys might be under water. I told her I’d follow her out to where she thought the keys were at swinging the detector as we walked. We stopped about 25 yards from the access and she said this is about where she had been sitting, two swings over the area and bingo!!! Took a scoop of sand out of the hole, shook it over the ground and reached down, picked up her keys and handed them to her. She was in total disbelief.

Dana, thank you for trusting in me to help you find you lost keys, although not a diamond or gold ring, at the time that FOB was priceless.

Lady’s White Gold Wedding & Engagement Rings Lost, Recovered and Returned Myrtle Beach SC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

I got a call a little after 11am today from Jamil from NY asking if I could help find his wife’s two rings in the sand. This was another lost ring call from Myrtle Beach so I called Matt Fry, the TRF for Myrtle Beach. Matt and I discussed the situation and he told me to go ahead and take the call. I called Jamil back and let him know I was on my way.

I met Jamil and his wife, Khatira on the beach with their 2 small children. Khatira told me she had taken her rings off and placed them in her lap, forgot them and stood up causing her rings to fly into the soft sand. After about 10 mins of searching, getting the lifeguard to move an umbrella and chairs I got the first tone and scooped up her engagement ring. A few more passes with the detector and I got the second tone and scooped up her wedding band. A very happy and relieved couple!

Jamil and Khatira, thank you for trusting me to find your lost treasure and for the very generous gift. Have a great time with the rest of your vacation and a safe trip back home.
