I got a call from Nick who told me he had lost a ring in a neighborhood park, and was not able to find it. This was a ring he had received from his mother, so although being copper the value wasn’t high in monetary worth, the worth in sentimentality was very high. We worked out a time for me to come out and do a search, and was on my way to help.
When I arrived Nick met me at the gate of the park, and told me this was where the loss occurred. He told me that he had been kind of goofing around, and decided to just make a small toss of the ring onto a small hillside. It wasn’t overgrown, or had a lot of leaves and such, but the ring just disappeared. I searched all around, and when I got to a place where the dirt was a little softer, I found his ring buried there. He was happy to have it back, and I was happy to make his day. I did make a plea to him though, that was please don’t throw your ring around any more, and he assured me he wouldn’t.
