Gold Necklace Found Port Elgin Lake Huron

  • from Toronto (Ontario, Canada)

We had left early in the morning for a ring recovery in Port Elgin. It was a four-hour drive before we finally reached the beach, geared up, and headed straight into the water. The search took some time, but we were successful in locating the ring—another happy ending, just like in the other story.

As we were climbing out of the water afterward, tired but feeling good about the recovery, we were approached by another couple who had been at the beach a few days earlier. The gentleman explained that he had lost his gold necklace during their visit. It had slipped off somewhere out in the water, and after days of looking on their own they had almost given up hope.

Even though we had already been in the water for hours, we went back out and set up a proper grid search. The conditions weren’t easy, and the necklace could have been anywhere, but we kept working the pattern one careful sweep at a time. Nearly an hour passed before the signal finally came through. When we pulled the necklace up from the sand and held it out, the look on their faces said everything. There was so much relief and excitement that it instantly made the long day and all the effort worth it.

Another recovery, another memory, and another reminder that these items mean far more than the metal they’re made of.

Lost Pendant Found Bay Beach – Fort Erie Ontario

  • from Toronto (Ontario, Canada)

We were at Bay Beach finishing up a few recovery services when a group of young men approached us. They looked worried, and one of them stepped forward to explain what had happened. While they had been wrestling around in the shallow water, his necklace had suddenly snapped and disappeared beneath the waves. This wasn’t just any necklace. It had belonged to his late father, and the pendant was something he carried with him every day as a reminder of him. Losing it hit him hard, and you could see the panic in his eyes as he talked.

He pointed out the stretch of water where it happened. Even though it was shallow, the waves constantly shifted the sand, making it easy for something small and precious to vanish instantly. We grabbed our gear and stepped into the water, determined to help.

The search began slowly and carefully. The detector hummed as we swept back and forth, inching along the bottom. The young men stood watching from the shoreline, their excitement replaced with quiet worry. It was clear how much this necklace meant to their friend. Every time the detector signaled, everyone leaned forward, hoping it would be the right one. Most of the signals turned out to be bottle caps, small bits of metal and lake debris.

After several minutes of searching, the detector gave a sharp, solid tone. We fanned the sand and the pendant was right in front of us.. The moment we held it up, the mood changed instantly.

The young man’s face lit up with pure relief. He rushed over, thanking us again and again. His friends cheered, clapping him on the back and laughing with that kind of happiness that only comes from getting something truly important back. It felt like the whole beach shared the moment for a second.

Seeing how much that necklace meant to him made the recovery feel incredibly rewarding. Bay Beach gave us another unforgettable memory that day, and we left knowing we had helped return not just an item, but a piece of someone’s heart.

Lost Gold Ring Found in Lake Erie – Crystal Beach Ontario

  • from Toronto (Ontario, Canada)

It was a beautiful afternoon at Crystal Beach when a very worried woman approached us. She explained that her ring had slipped off somewhere in the water while she was swimming. This was not just any ring. It was a gift from her husband who was back home in India, and losing it left her completely heartbroken. She could barely speak without tearing up as she pointed out the general area where she thought it might have fallen.

We headed into the water right away. The waves were gentle, but the shifting sand underneath made the search challenging. We began a slow, careful grid pattern with the detector, moving inch by inch through waist deep water. Every signal mattered, and each time the detector buzzed, we hoped it would be the ring. Instead, we pulled up bottle caps, bits of metal and other small scraps buried beneath the sand. The woman stood anxiously on the shoreline, watching every move and hoping for a miracle.

After nearly an hour of searching, the detector gave a clean, solid tone, the kind that instantly makes you stop and focus. We scooped beneath the sand and lifted the scoop out of the water. As the water drained away, something small and bright glimmered in the sunlight. It was the ring.

When we held it up, the woman gasped and covered her face with both hands. Then she ran into the water, laughing and crying at the same time. Everyone nearby started cheering and smiling. The relief on her face was unforgettable. She kept saying how grateful she was and how much the ring meant to her, especially with her husband being so far away.

It was one of those moments that reminds you why helping people recover their lost items is so special. A tiny piece of jewelry, found beneath the shifting sand and waves, brought so much joy back to someone’s day. Crystal Beach will always feel a little more magical because of that search.

A Special Ring Recovery at Mara Park Lake Simcoe

  • from Toronto (Ontario, Canada)

Last week Steve and I had the honor of helping someone recover a deeply sentimental item from the waters of Lake Simcoe. It was one of those moments that reminds us why we do what we do.

We were called out of town to Mara Provincial Park, a beautiful spot on the eastern shore of Lake Simcoe, known for its sandy beach and shallow, family-friendly water. But on this day, the mood was a bit more emotional than usual. A Platinum wedding ring had been lost in the lake, a ring that carried much more than monetary value.

The ring belonged to a couple who had recently said goodbye to their beloved dog. But this wasn’t just any pet. Their dog had been the ring bearer at the wedding, making the ring a living connection to both their special day and the memory of their furry family member.

Understandably, the owner  was heartbroken when the ring slipped off during a visit to the beach. He feared it might be gone for good.

Steve and I got to work, slowly and methodically searching the area they remembered being in. The water was clear but the sandy bottom made things tricky, constantly shifting and hiding clues. Still, we knew how much this meant, and giving up was never an option.

After a good stretch of searching, sweeping back and forth, my detector gave a solid hit. I scooped, rinsed and there it was. A glint of a ring in the sunlight.

The shock when we made the phone call siad it all relief, gratitude, and maybe a few quiet tears.

This wasn’t just a ring. It was a piece of their story, their marriage, and their late best friend.

Recoveries like this are always special, but this one? It’ll stay with us for a long time.

Until the next adventure

Swiss Visitor’s Ring Recovered at Thornbury Beach Ontario

  • from Toronto (Ontario, Canada)

It’s always rewarding to help someone turn a stressful moment into a happy memory , especially when it happens in a beautiful place like Thornbury , Ontario.

We recently got a call from a couple visiting all the way from Switzerland. They were staying at a lakefront home, enjoying some well-deserved time by the water. While applying sunscreen at the beach, she had taken off her rings and slipped them into her pocket — but as many of us know, that’s often how these little treasures go missing.

Later, while sitting at the beach, she noticed one of the rings glinting in the sand. Relief quickly turned to panic when she realized there were supposed to be three — and one was still missing.

They searched everywhere but couldn’t find it. That’s when we got the call.

After a three-hour drive to Thornbury, we arrived with our metal detecting gear and got to work. Thankfully, it didn’t take long — within minutes, we located the missing ring buried in the sand, not far from where they had been searching.

The look of relief on their faces made the drive more than worth it. It’s a great reminder that even when something feels lost for good, the right tools and a little experience can bring it back.

Bracelet Lost Through the Cracks and Found Beneath the Dock Port Dalhousie

  • from Toronto (Ontario, Canada)

It’s amazing how quickly a special moment can turn stressful — and how quickly a little determination can turn it back around.

A few days ago, I got called to help with a tricky recovery at the marina. A young woman had been walking along the dock when she tripped and fell. Thankfully, she wasn’t hurt — but in the process, her very special bracelet came off her wrist and fell straight through the cracks of the dock, disappearing into the water below.

The bracelet wasn’t just jewelry ,it had sentimental value and a recent gift that couldn’t be replaced .

The conditions weren’t exactly ideal. Poor visibility, tight spaces under the dock, and plenty of weeds made the search feel nearly impossible. But with my metal detector and a lot of patience, I got to work.

After carefully scanning the area and navigating the tangle of weeds and debris, I finally got a good signal. A little digging, a lot of feeling around and there it was. Her bracelet, still intact and ready to be reunited with its owner.

The relief and gratitude on her face made every second worth it.

It’s a reminder that even in tough conditions, with the right tools and a little persistence, some things really can be found again.

Amazing Ring Recovery at the Dock Port Dalhousie

  • from Toronto (Ontario, Canada)

What started as a relaxing day on the water almost turned into a heartbreaking memory for one couple — but thanks to a bit of determination and the right tools, the story had a happy ending.

The couple had been enjoying the summer sun, swimming off the back of their boat while docked. As the boyfriend helped his girlfriend out of the water, disaster struck — his ring slipped off his finger and disappeared into the water below.

That’s when I got the call.

As a diver with a metal detector, I’ve seen my fair share of tricky recoveries, but this one was a challenge. Poor visibility, thick weeds, and murky water made the search feel almost impossible. But I wasn’t about to give up.

After methodically sweeping the area with my detector, a faint signal came through. I carefully reached down through the weeds and muck — and there it was. The ring, still intact, glinting faintly beneath the water.

The look of relief and excitement on their faces made it all worth it. Another successful recovery, another great story, and a reminder that sometimes, even when things seem lost, they’re not gone for good.

A Special Ring Lost and Found, Buffalo NY

  • from Toronto (Ontario, Canada)

Last week, I had the opportunity to help someone in Buffalo, NY recover a ring that meant the world to him. It’s always a great feeling when you can return something that carries not just monetary value, but deep sentimental meaning and this recovery was exactly that.

The story began in a quiet backyard on the outskirts of Buffalo. The homeowner, a kind gentleman, had been out gardening, enjoying the early summer weather. He was pulling weeds, tending to the flower beds, and working with his hands in the dirt when unbeknownst to him his cherished ring slipped off his finger. It wasn’t until later that day, after washing up, that he realized it was gone.

Understandably, panic set in. The ring had sentimental value, and losing it felt like losing a part of his personal story. His wife sprang into action right away. She picked up a metal detector from a local tool store, determined to find the ring herself. Despite her best efforts, and several hours spent scanning the yard, the elusive ring stayed hidden.

Frustrated but not ready to give up, she turned to Google and that’s where she found The Ring Finders, a global directory of metal detecting specialists who help recover lost items. She reached out, and that’s where I came into the picture.

When I arrived at their home, I could see the hope in their eyes mixed with a bit of skepticism. The backyard wasn’t overly large, but there were garden beds, mulch, and grassy patches—plenty of places where a ring could easily disappear from sight.

After getting the details of exactly where he had been working, I started sweeping the area with my detector. It didn’t take long before I heard a promising signal just at the edge of the property near the fence. I carefully checked the thick grass and sure enough, there it was—his ring, nestled just below the surface.

The moment I held it up and saw the relief and joy on his face—that’s the reason I do this. He was speechless for a moment, then simply said, “I didn’t think I’d ever see that again.”

Every ring has a story, and being able to help someone continue theirs is what makes these recoveries so rewarding. If you’ve lost something important, don’t lose hope—sometimes, all it takes is the right tools and a little help from someone .

44 Year old University Ring Lost and Recovered in Nottawasaga River Wasaga Ontario

  • from Toronto (Ontario, Canada)

A few days ago, I was contacted by a man who had lost something incredibly meaningful in the Nottawasaga River in Wasaga Beach, Ontario — his late father’s university ring.

It had slipped off his finger during a night swim. In the darkness, there was no hope of finding it. The current, and water visability , and the fact that it was pitch black made it feel like it was gone forever.

But he didn’t give up. He reached out to me, and with the help of an underwater metal detector and some careful diving, I was able to return to the river in the daylight and begin a precise search.

After methodically scanning the riverbed, I got a signal — and there it was, nestled between some stones: his father’s ring, still intact.

Returning it to him was a powerful moment. You could see the weight lift off his shoulders. This wasn’t just a piece of jewelry — it was a symbol of legacy, love, and connection to someone he deeply missed.

I’m grateful to be able to help recover items like this. They’re more than metal — they’re memories.

If you’ve lost something valuable in the water, don’t hesitate to reach out. You’d be surprised what can be recovered with the right tools and persistence.

Lost Ring Found from an Ant-Infested Garden Hamilton

  • from Toronto (Ontario, Canada)

Late Monday evening, we received a heartfelt text message from Jenny in Hamilton, Ontario. She had been gardening that evening when a bunch of ants forced her to quickly rip off her gloves. In the chaos, she hadn’t noticed right away but later realized her beloved engagement ring was missing.

Jenny’s message was filled with urgency and emotion. The ring wasn’t just a piece of jewelry, it was a deeply sentimental item, representing years of memories and love. Despite searching the area thoroughly, she hadn’t been able to find it. The backyard grass hadn’t been cut, and that made the search even more challenging.

We packed our gear and headed out with our detectors. Within about 30 minutes of careful scanning through the uneven ground and thick blades of grass, the detector gave off a promising signal. Moments later, we saw a glint just below the surface. There it was, her engagement ring, perfectly intact and just slightly buried in the grass.

Jenny was overjoyed and relieved. Watching the tension lift from her face reminded us why we do what we do. Whether it’s a beach, a park, or a backyard garden, every recovery is a chance to return not just an item but a story, a connection, a piece of someone’s heart.

If you’ve lost something valuable or sentimental, don’t lose hope. Sometimes all it takes is a bit of persistence and the right tools to make a happy ending possible.
