Gold Wedding Ring found and returned

Todd lost his gold wedding ring in the heavy surf in Puerto Rico. The week after he returned home to Wisconsin, his wife located theringfinders.com and contacted me.

I received the text from Todd with some information about the lost ring and would I be willing to look for it. I love a challenge, and believe me, this was indeed a very challenging search!

The ring was lost a week prior in the water. Todd and his son looked for it to no avail. But, they were pretty clear as to where they lost the ring and sent me a picture showing the general area in the water.

The next day I drove to Rio Grande armed with my picture and my trusty Equinox 800 and Xtreme scoop. One look at the rough waves and I got second thoughts. This really looks like an impossible search!! But soon I was in the water searching battling the waves. And within about 10 minutes of searching my very second signal was the ring!

So happy to have helped Todd get his ring back.

Heirloom Gold Ring found and returned, Condado, Puerto Rico

David lost his ring while playing with his family at the beach in Condado, Puerto Rico.

David felt the ring fly off his finger and land in the shallow water behind him. After searching for a while, he gave up hope. He was mentally accepting the ring was lost forever.

4 days had passed since he lost the ring, and the thoughts of the ring haunted him. So, he did a quick search and found The Ring Finders.

I got a call from David on a Saturday afternoon. He explained what had happened and gave me an idea where the ring was lost. Within 30 minutes I was meeting David at the location and proceeded to search for the lost gold ring.

Since David had a good idea where the ring might have landed, I was able to find David’s ring within a couple of minutes!!

LADIE’S SIGNET RING LOST, FOUND AND RETURNED ULTIMO TROLLEY BEACH, PUERTO RICO

I got a text message at 8:45am on Monday, August 30th from Ana saying “Hey Donald! Would you be able to find a gold ring I lost at the beach by Ocean Park?”. I was just wrapping up another beach hunt about 30 miles away. I called Ana and she explained that she lost her ring the night before in the water at Ocean Park Beach. Ana was flying home to NYC that morning, so I asked her for a photo of the lost ring and agreed to search for it weather permitting, since Ultimo Trolley Beach is mostly rough surf and difficult to search.

Ana sent me a picture of the ring, it’s a 14k Signet ring, very small. She also sent me a picture detailing the approximate area where she was when she lost the ring. The next few days I tried to detect in between the crashing surf but this small ring was nowhere to be found. I notified Ana that I had been looking for the ring and had no been able to find it, however, I would be on the lookout in case it washed ashore or a friendly detectorist happened to find it.

For some reason, I had a premonition that this ring would wash up in the surf. What are the chances, right?  But so it did! On Wednesday October 20th, almost two months after it was lost, I was detecting in the area in heavy surf with my Equinox 800, when I heard  a low tone. I quickly stabbed the sand with my Xtreme scoop and there it was, Ana’s ring!

I texted Ana, sent her a picture and confirmed it was her ring. The next day I sent the ring back to ANA in NYC and now the ring is back where it belongs.

This is such a great story, I couldn’t make it up if I tried! Thanks Ana, for trusting me to find your treasured ring.

PLATINUM DIAMONDS RING LOST, FOUND AND RETURNED OCEAN PARK BEACH, PUERTO RICO

This past Monday, just a s I was pondering going to the beach, I got a frantic call from Rei. She had taken off her platinum and diamond ring to apply suntan lotion. She placed the ring on the towel and forgot about it. When she moved the towel the ring went flying into the sand! Rei and her husband looked for the ring for about an hour with no success. I know the area where she was at and agreed to meet her there within the next half hour.

When I got there Rei came running to me , she was torn that she had lost the ring and excited to see some hope of finding it. We got to the area where Rei and her husband had been looking and Rei explained how she moved the towel and lost the ring. I had my Equinox 800 with me and felt very confident that I would find the ring.

After about five minutes of searching through lots of bottle caps and trash I approached Rei and told her I would be digging up all signals good and bad since the ring was obviously somewhere among that trash. As we stood there talking, the very next signal was a 12-13 midtone. I dug it up and there was the platinum ring!

It felt so good getting this ring back to Rei. You can tell they were very happy. Thanks Rei for trusting me to find your lost ring!

Diamond ring found and returned, Ocean Park beach

Made someone very happy! I got a call for two lost rings on Sunday. While vacationing in Puerto Rico, Daisy had been in the surf when a wave snatched the rings right off her finger. Three days later a heartbroken Daisy stumbled across the Ringfinders page and found me. After gathering some information form Daisy I made my way to the beach with an approximate location where the rings were lost. After fighting the heavy surf the engagement ring was recovered. I returned the ring back to Daisy Rosario who was very very happy and grateful to have this ring back. Due to the heavy surf this has been by far my most challenging recovery.

Diamond Ring lost at Ocean Park Beach, Puerto Rico… Found and Returned

IMG_1766 IMG_1769While vacationing in Puerto Rico, Darren Webster and friends lost a Diamond Ring in the sand.

Not wanting to get in the water wearing the ring, Darren had is friend hold the ring for him. The “ring keeper” lost the ring in the sand!! After much searching Jeff Birchmore decided they needed help. Jeff found me through The Ring Finders and called me to the rescue.

It would take me two hours to get to Ocean Park, all the while Darren and friends waited anxiously. When I arrived Darren’s face lit up with hope that his ring would be found.

Darren described what had happened and what we were looking for. I briefly explained how metal detecting works and what I would be doing to find his ring.

So, I got to work with my AT Pro and Stealth Scoop. First finding a few bottle caps and pull tabs. But it wasn’t long before I got a good signal and BOOM, there it was, this beautiful gold and diamond ring! There were cheers all around us. I had found the ring in less than 10 minutes!

Thanks to Darren for the generous reward. You have quite a story from this vacation!

Seeing Darren’s face when I found the ring: PRICELESS!
