Metal detecting...Found white gold wedding band on a beach in Vancouver

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Well the summer is almost here and we had a nice sunny day, it must have been close to 70 degrees.

I received a call from a man by the name of Richard and he told me that he lost his white gold wedding band at the beach (Spanish Banks) in Vancouver.

He told me that he felt the ring come off his finger when he was throwing a football, he marked the area that he was standing in and then searched the internet on his phone for someone to help find his ring.

I think he said he typed in ”ring finders” in Vancouver and I came up a few times, so he called, and I came out to find the ring.

When I got there I was greeted by a friend of Richard’s and he walked me over to where they were sitting on the beach.

I met Richard and he showed me the area and it only took me a little over 30 seconds to find the ring.

I started where he was standing and throwing the football and on my second line of my grid search and my first good signal…I found his ring.

I love my job!

Hi Chris, what a small world!
Richard Kish, featured today at the beach is my brother in law’s brother. In fact, my niece, sister and brother in law (Steve) were all in your video.
I am not sure if you remember me, but I am the lady who lost her tennis bracelet and you were so kind to come out to Surrey to search for it at the A&T Equestrian Centre.
Well, I have been reading your blog once in a while and usually on days when I am missing my bracelet, yes, it is still lost.
I still find myself looking down in the dirt while my daughter has her riding lessons, I guess I still have hope although I am sure I didn’t lose it at the riding centre. I also search sporadically at home when it dawns on me that I missed searching in a particular spot. Not sure when I will stop.
Thank you for all you do, I am sure that you bring much joy to so many people.
    Keep hunting! Nora

    Hi Nora,
Crazy! It is a small world! It didn’t take long to find Richards ring today and I wish I could have found your bracelet!
I’m sure it isn’t in the equestrian centre as i did a good grid of the area, I hope one day it shows up for you! Thanks for the post!
    Best,
    Chris
