Lost White Gold and Diamond Ring Found in Riverview Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

One Too Many Dribbles….

…..Caused this nice young man to take a time out after his white gold and diamond ring came off while doing some 1 on 1 on a half court today. I answered his call and upon arriving on site he said he looked all over the place. So I set up my MXT and searched the grass areas surrounding the practice area and didn’t come up with anything. I also checked a plugged catch basin that was in proximity to no avail. So I looked around and noticed some mulch and hedges off to one side at an apartment unit. So I checked under and around with no luck. So we took a break to rethink where else could it be and it hit me to shake the tops of the hedges and as I did I looked under and in the mulch this beautiful ring was laying in plain sight right where I had checked earlier. So the ring was stuck in the hedge the whole time! lol I scooped it up and walked over and dropped it in his hand and he about lost it with excitement as he has only been married a year and thought the ring was gone. As we talked a bit he had said he was thinking about getting a detector somewhere but I told him all he needed was a professional bush shaker!

Lost engagement ring recovered-Lake Waywayanda, West Milford,N.J.

  • from Mahwah (New Jersey, United States)

Kate was running as part of a team in an all night relay race. Part of the 8 mile loop ran across a fresh water beach. In the light rain , her hand had shrunk so her ring was on loosely. As she ran over the beach, she felt her ring fall off. This was a beautiful white gold ring with a star sapphire and diamonds and had tremendous sentimental value to Kate and her husband.
They searched  for the ring in daylight but could not locate it.
She contacted me through the Ringfinders website and arranged to meet at the beach at Lake Waywayanda.
She had an idea where the ring came off, so I picked up my favorite detector and began my grid. We searched two 100ft sections before I moved to the 3rd section of the beach, swung over a small pile of sand and got a 57-60 signal. I told her I had a signal, but sounds too low for your ring . Brushed away 2 inches of sand and there was the ring!
Kate was extremely happy and told me she was certain that I would not find it. Proved her wrong there!

We took pictures and she called her husband to tell him the good news. Smiles all around including a happy couple that were watching the entire search from the edge of the beach.
What a great feeling to return something that means so much!

Gold Wedding and Engagement Rings Lost and Returned North Myrtle Beach SC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

My wife and I were on a little get away in Gettysburg PA on Friday the 13th when I noticed I had a missed call with a voice mail. Listening to the voice mail, Frank D explained that his wife Diane was in North Myrtle Beach with some friends and had lost both her wedding ring and engagement ring in the surf. I called Frank back and explained I was out of town but I could contact my son-in-law Donnie and was pretty sure he could go look for me. I called Donnie and explained the situation and gave him Diane’s number.

My understanding was that Donnie and Diane had talked and were to meet on the beach a little later that evening. Not hearing anything from Donnie wasn’t giving me high hopes that he had found them. Donnie called later that evening and said he had no luck and was very sure he was in the right area and convinced he had covered the area very thoroughly. Fast forward to 8:15am Saturday morning and Donnie texted me a picture of the rings saying “Found them”. Come to find out Donnie had gone out early Saturday before he had to go to work and just happened to run into one of Diane’s friends walking the beach who told Donnie that she thought they were maybe 10 or so feet further south. Donnie told me on his second pass over the new area he got a strong signal and knew it was one of the rings, about a foot away he found the second ring.

Donnie – thank you so much for filling in for me, you do a fantastic job and are a great resource I can count on when I’m not able to answer the call.

Frank & Diane – thank you for allowing us the opportunity to find and return your lost treasure.

Two Gold Rings Found Henderson Estate, Edmonton, Alberta Canada

I received a call from Nada this afternoon requesting my service to find her two rings which were lost while she was doing yard work on Monday,  however it was not until Tuesday that she realized  that her rings where not on her finger. I told her I would be there within one hour.

I met up with Nada at her home where she showed me the area she was working in the back yard.  She had been  pulling plants out of her flower pots and raised garden and was cleaning the back yard for the winter.

After asking Nada a lot of questions I started checking the flower pots and then couple of bags full of leaves with no luck.  I headed to her raised garden plot in the corner of her yard where I found the larger ring. The smaller ring proved much more difficult to find. I searched around the yard for another hour.  Nada was realizing that the ring was probably lost elsewhere but I told her not to give up yet.  She went in the house to warm up.

I continued searching and headed to another raised bed. There I heard a faint sound in my headphones.  The ring was covered in leaves! I called Nada over and told her it was her lucky day as both rings had been found.  She was very happy to have them back on her finger.

Thank you Nada in entrusting me to find your rings.

Several months ago I received a call from Trisha. She lost a ring several years ago in the yard of a friend in Levittown Pa. We texted back & forth and set up a date. The day before we were to look for the ring she sent me a message that there was a problem and she would get back to me. She kept in touch.

This week she texted and asked what my availability was. We agreed on Sunday morning at 8 am. I started packing up my truck at 6:30, and it starts pouring. Ok, better pack my rain gear and switch my detector to waterproof.

We met, and it is raining. I put on my bright yellow rain gear, pants, and jacket. I look like I am going to be on the show Deadliest Catch. Trisha takes me to the area that she believes the ring is located in. She was playing volleyball with friends and went to serve the ball. When she hit the ball, her ring went flying. She had warned me that there are a lot of bottle caps and pull tabs in the area, she was right!! Her husband had looked several years ago with a metal detector and didn’t have any luck.

About 10 minutes into the search her friends said that she was in a different area of the yard. So I expanded my search.  2 spoons, and several trash targets later I get the tone I am listening for. About an inch down in the dirt is a beautiful gold & ruby ring.

Trica comes running down off of the porch, and I get a very big hug. She then explains the history of the ring. The ring is her best friends mothers ring. It was given to Trica after the mother past away. Her best friend had an identical ring made while her mother was still living. She hasn’t been able to tell her friend that she lost the ring. She just saw her friend yesterday, and she was still wearing the identical ring. Trisha now says that she will tell her friend the story of her ring. So much sentimental value.

Trisha stated when we met before the search that the rain would bring good luck. She also reminded me that when we first spoke on the phone that I said if the ring was in the yard, that I would find it!!

I love my hobby!!!

If you have lost a metal item, don’t waste your time renting or buying a metal detector. It takes years of practice to learn what a metal detector is trying to tell you. Call a professional.

helped find and return a lost ring at the beach buried in the sand.Call Now; 760 889 2751

I gotta a call from a Ring Finder teammate John Hughes to help find a gold wedding ring lost at a beach in San Diego. John had just finished up a vigorous 5 hour hunt for a long lost Ring at another beach and was headed out with his family for dinner.

I arrived promptly to the location with my metal detector in 20min then began scanning the wet sand 20′ south of a staircase where it may have been lost.

1.5hrs later I found no luck. Not even 1 metal target from the slope-waters edge!
After nearly giving up and back at my vehicle,I text John again to confirm with Matt, the owner if he was on the south side of the stairs or the north side 20′ when the ring was lost..? He calls me back and says he actually was on the North side!! Long story short..So I geared back up then hiked back down the staircase to find his wedding band in just a few minutes:)

The next day we met Patty & Matt at a beach in San Diego. They were so happy that we were able to help them. Matt’s ring was very sentimental as it was handed down by his father! These kind of stories even after 5 years returning lost jewelry are still pulsating with life. The smiles and positive energy received is electric. What a great service to be apart of.

Lost Platinum Wedding Band at Lanikai Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call at work from Bobby who lives on Oahu. While enjoying a day at the beach with his wife, Bobby was asked to apply suntan lotion to her back. He took off his Platinum wedding band and placed it on a Catamaran that was pushed up onto the beach. They enjoyed the day at the beach and when they got home Bobby realized he’d left his ring on the boat. He returned to look for it but it couldn’t be found and that’s when he found “Theringfinders” on the net. We met along a side street and walked down to the beach. Bobby showed me the area next to the Catamaran where he thought the ring should be. A quick scan and nothing at all. I asked Bobby to show me exactly where on the boat he placed the ring. He was sure it was on the starboard pontoon. I asked Bobby if he thought it could have fallen between the pontoons and he said “No!” I said what do we have to lose and asked if we could reposition the Catamaran so I could detect underneath. Another gentleman on the beach helped us move the boat a few feet to the right and I swept that area. Bam! A great Platinum tone and one scoop later there was Bobby’s ring in the scoop. Bobby was so thankful I was inquisitive enough to go the extra step. Hey that’s what we are expected to do. We don’t give up so easy at theringfinders. Aloha to Bobby!

Lisa’s ring

Lisa and Cameron reunited with her beautiful ring

Lisa is a school teacher and she was very happy to hear that her school trip was taking place at a park a couple miles from her home. While playing with the children, she threw a beach ball and as the ball left her hands-so did her engagement ring! Much frantic searching ensued, including the help of the park employees after which the lost ring was not located. Lisa’s husband Cameron was then enlisted in the search. He purchased an inexpensive metal detector and looked for the ring without success.

Cameron found out about The Ringfinders and contacted me. We arranged to meet and after the drive to the park, the search was on. As I normally do, I had brought 2 detectors along to have  another tool at my disposal. I asked Cameron if he would want to join me in locating the ring. He agreed to use my spare machine and after a brief lesson in how to use the detector we began our search. After 40 minutes of searching and many errant signals Cameron told me he had a signal that sounded promising. I verified the signal with my detector and after looking through the grass, there was her ring below a shallow layer of soil. Needless to say they were both very happy. Lisa told me she thought we would never find it! But with her husband’s help, we had another successful ring return. the ring is a beautiful Platinum ring with an emerald cut diamond. As always the look of amazement and happiness on the faces of this young couple was priceless!

Pigskin, Cleats and Mud!

With a new NFL season in motion this nice gentleman was out in the autumn air in SE Michigan yesterday tossing the football around with a few friends.
While reaching up in the cool air with sweaty hands to grab a long pass his wedding band slipped off. As dusk was upon them they tried to locate it in the partial soft mud left behind from their cleats to no avail. I made arrangements to meet him today as the area was not total private land. I set up my MXT and started to grid the area where the mud grass areas were he thought he was pacing around for a few plays. I got lots of junk signals and then got a +52 mixed with a junk signal. Turning 90 deg. with the bigfoot coil I got the same signal but on each pass I knew I had something good as the sound bled over to that sweet metal song. Pulling the trigger switch showed 0 depth and further pinpointing revealed this sweet chunky white/yellow gold ring with small diamonds peeking out below the grass pushed flat down from the pressure of the cleats!
So even if his favorite team doesn’t get to the superbowl this year, this was HIS championship!

A ring return just hours before hurricane Jose hit Cotuit, MA.

  • from Cape Cod (Massachusetts, United States)

Kevin was playing ball in the last of the summer’s warm water when the his wedding band slipped into the water. A group of friends spent many hours of searching without the result they desired. A call to J&E Enterprise lead Kevin to calling me for help. Hurricane Jose was coming with high winds, surf and winds, I had to go NOW. Passing up the National Hamburger Day dinner, I was off to a little known beach to start a search. I had Kevin’s description of where to search and Elizabeth was to meet up with me to add more information.

I arrived about an hour before Elizabeth showed up on the beach. I had searched the area Kevin had described. Now with a few more questions answered I moved the search area over another 30 feet. After covering the new area I was on my own. I had to widen the search area and did so by working the wet sand area. I did a turn and magically Ted was standing there watching me. He told me he was Kevin’s friend going back to early school days. He then suggested I cover the area where he would through a rock to. Well that did not go too well as his arm was not in good enough shape to toss a rock far enough. So into the water I went with instructions for Ted to tell me were to stop and search. Another 10 yards past were I had searched I was told to stop. I marked off 5 yards either side of the “stop” mark. I started searching in the direction Elizabeth had said to move from where I had searched. Another 10 minutes and the shining white gold ring was glittering in my scoop. A good thing as I could see and feel some of Jose’s force heading our way.

Timing is always of the essence in locating a lost item. The earlier a search can be started the better the chance for a recovery is. A hint for anyone that “looses” an object is to mark the area, take pictures, note any physical objects that can be used as a reference point then call a RingFinder. If an item is lost in the water, drop a few coins in the area as a “marker” for a searcher to look for. Or as Kevin did – have friends able to help in the search. If it had not been for Ted showing up and putting me in the proper area, I would not have found the ring that afternoon. And it might not have been a couple of days before the hurricane would pass and detecting would be safe to do again.

Thanks Ted!

Ted texted Kevin, Elizabeth and the other friends that had helped in the previous days of searching. Kevin called, thanked me and I gave the ring to Ted to return to Kevin…Done and pictures added.
