I was contact by Marrissa on Friday who indicated she was looking for someone to help her find a lost wedding ring at the Little Manitou Lake. Marrissa reported that they were swimming in the lake when her husband Eric felt his titanium wedding ring slip from his fingers. this was on Wednesday evening the lake was very choppy at the time of the loss. They were also traveling from Ontario to Alberta and had left the area. She had sent me a hand drawing picture as reference as to the location of the loss. This did help in the recovery.

So, I head to the lake with the map for reference. Little Manitou Lake AKA (Canada’s Dead Sea) is about half as salty as the Dead Sea and Eight times saltier than the ocean. This creates a unique experience to detecting in.  As Most metal detector wont work in the salt water. You do need a specialized detector for this. I was there for 3 hours in water detecting till it got dark with no ring found.

The vey next morning we headed back to the lake this being a Saturday the beach and swimming area was very busy. I geared up and 20 minutes in the water I had found the ring.

I sent them a picture and they confirmed the ring was indeed the lost Black Titanium Ring. We made armaments to meet in Moose Jaw the next day as they were drive through on their way home to Ontario.

We truly have the best job in the world, and we absolutely love what we do.
