Krystal had been at Monarch Bay Club on the beach, Dana Point,CA. with relatives and it was a great day until she got home. That’s when she reached into her beach bag to retrieve her Rose Gold wedding ring, which she had placed there for safe keeping. It was not in the bag. Krystal and her husband Bob looked everywhere in their car without finding the ring.
She believed it may have been pulled out of the bag when she was pulling out items during their day at the beach.
The next day they brought a borrowed metal detector to the beach.
They spent a half day with the detector scanning the whole beach. Now the tide was starting to move in. Their friend google searched several key words when she came up with TheRingFinders.com.
When they called me I told them we still had enough light to do a search. The area could possibly be massive.

I arrived, beginning my search grid to stay ahead of the incoming tide. After about an hour and a half I was preparing my words to tell them I can not locate the ring. I could only see a small 20’x 20′ area to search. Bingo! I got the sound and reading I was looking for. A quick scoop in the wet sand and I had the ring in my hand.

Krystal, Bob and their friend were standing off in the distance and they had that hopeless look on their faces. I walked up to them asking for a description of the ring at the same time I held it up for them to see. Happy faces with a little bit of tears of joy. We had a nice conversation walking back to our cars. It never gets old finding these sentimental mental symbols of Krystal and Bob’s love for each other.

Lifeguard Needs Help Finding Lost Ring in Sand.. Monarch Bay, Laguna Beach, CA.

Last week I did a 6 hour unsuccessful ring search at 1000 Steps Beach in the town of Laguna Beach,CA. I met Max who is an Orange County Lifeguard. He was curious about why I was grid searching the whole beach. I had been called about a ring the was dropped in the sand two days before and the people were not able to meet me. They did send me a marked up satellite screen shot. I told him I was a member of TheRingFinders and gave him my contact information.

Today Max called me needing my help for his custom silver ring lost in the sand right in front of his lifeguard tower. He couldn’t spend hours searching for it because he has to be ready to save lives. Today he was working Monarch Bay Club beach.
It was a 20 minute drive for me. Parking was a snap because security heard I was going to help one of the lifeguards. Max showed me the location and we got to work. Second signal put Max’s ring in my scoop. Couldn’t talk much because the beach was busy.
A happy lifeguard with his ring that was purchased as a memory of a trip to Mexico several years ago. Another fun search.

Platinum Diamond Ring Found in Surf … Capistrano Orange County Beach Park .. San Jaun Capistrano, CA.

Jaimee called me late in the afternoon. Her dilemma was, that her platinum diamond wedding ring had come off her finger in knee deep water while throwing a ball. The tide was coming in and it was going to be a 6.2 ft. high tide. Chances of finding it now would not be good. Most important now was to meet them to pinpoint the location and the circumstances that led to the loss.
When I arrived at Capistrano Orange County Beach Park, Jaimee and her husband Jason met me. They are beach people and she told me she always leaves her rings at home when they go to the beach. This time it slipped her mind.  After losing the ring in the water somebody on the beach suggested they try to find a metal detector. They went online finding me at TheRingFinders.com.
The surf was very violent with a quick surging shore break. The tide rises about one foot an hour. It was looking like it would be better to wait till the midnight low tide. I looked at Jaimee’s desperation and thought maybe I should just try now. I went out where the waves were hitting me about waist high. After 15 minutes I decided to give up till later. Then, my first and only signal came into my earphones . It took several attempts with my sand scoop, but I pulled up a scoop full of small cobble rocks. Right on top of the rocks shining at me was Jaimee’s diamond ring. They were watching me and I held back my emotional reaction of finding the ring.
I walked up to Jaimee with the rocks and ring still in my scoop. I told her that I couldn’t search any longer. She agreed, that is when I told her to look in the scoop. No words can express the look on her face or the feelings I saw at that moment. This too, was one of those finds that surprise me just as much as the both of them. That is one of the reasons I say “I’ll Try Anywhere”.. It’s like the lottery, you can’t win if you don’t buy a ticket.. I switch that around to say, “You can’t find it if you don’t turn on your detector and swing it. ”
I love this service, I don’t like to call it a job.. I have had jobs before, but none of them made me feel this good.
