WEDDING BAND LOST IN MURKY WATERS OF BACKYARD POND in PEFFERLAW, ONT 🇨🇦

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

I had a referral from another RING FINDER Anne for a lost wedding band in a pond in Pefferlaw, Ontario. Soon after, I received a call from Ron the ring owner!

I made arrangement to attend early Saturday morning. I brought along my trusty Minelab Excalibur2 underwater metal detector and my newly acquired DIVE BLU3 NEMO hookah system purchased last fall.

The search area was roughly 6’ to 10’ wide by zero to 20’ out from the dock. When Ron stated it was mucky, squishy bottom and black with zero viz… he WASN’T KIDDING!!

Check the video our of the recovery of this beautiful rose gold wedding band;

Ron being a former diver knew those conditions aren’t favorable nor wanted for anyone in the water! It’s very easy to lose ones bearings as you could see. I had to pop up a number of times to ensure I was heading back to the dock area.

I was thinking after my first down and back attempt, I would then switch to a Lazy “D” style grid pattern (1/2 moon) back and forth from dock outward!

Lucky on the way back to the dock and right under the dock ladder I heard the sweet gold tone on the Excalibur2!! I popped out with the wedding band much to the surprise and delight of Ron and Christopher!!

It was a pleasure to meet both these guys and a big thank you for the generous donation to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation in which they received a tax receipt!! PAYING-IT-FORWARD!!

Custom wedding band created from an F-16 engine fan blade lost in the waters of Lake Joseph, Port Carling, Muskoka Lakes ON

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

Michael and his family rented a cottage in the Port Carling, Muskoka Lakes Cottage country area in Ontario!

The cottage was nestled in the pine trees with an incredible view on Lake Joseph!
Michael had gone for a swim and later in the day he realized his custom wedding band crafted from an engine fan blade of an F-16 fighter jet was no longer on his finger! He and his wife Heather searched their cottage and boat with no luck!

Michael somehow got talking to my Friend Don “The HULSTER” Hulse whom works at the transfer station. Don advised Michael to call his Wife Laurie for my information!
I received a message from him and agreed to head up very early the following Labour Day holiday morning to search in the water!

Happy to have pulled off the surprise in recovering Michael’s unique wedding band!!

Check out the surprise In this video link…I reversed it up from my normal routine!!

Another donation coming into the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation 🌸💖🌸
Thanks to my dear Friend’s Laurie & Don for their recommendation 🌺❤️🌺 #LakeJoseph

DROVE 2,764kms (1,717miles) for a 750/PLA HEIRLOOM ENGAGEMENT RING IN THUNDER BAY, ON

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

Received a desperate phone call from Maria that she lost her precious late grandmother’s engagement ring in the waters of an Ontario Park near Thunder Bay, Ontario.

I could hear the desperation in her voice but the thought of travelling 15 hours one-way was daunting.

I reached out to another ‘Ring Finder’ Ann who is listed in Peterborough, ON. Ann normally drives down to the Garrett Memorial metal detecting hunt in Texas and we’ve drove to a hunt last year in Chazy, New York. Ann is like me… we love to drive!

We set out on this incredible long distance journey, while swapping driving duties when our eyes started to cross while the other rested.

We arrived around 7 AM in the morning with thunder and lightning happening. We closed our eyes for a half hour rest and soon after the thunder stopped and the rain let up. We decided to “GO FOR IT” after all we were getting wet in the water anyways!

Prior to the trip I had Maria and her husband Thomas “Google Earth” the location and mark it up with an “X”. Originally I requested them to GPS the location but after more communications with Maria there was no cell reception there!

I grid searched and within 40 minutes I came across a double tone on my equinox 800 7/8 and 11/12 readings! Second scoop and there was Maria’s beautiful heirloom engagement ring in my sand scoop!!

We decided to leave immediately and hit the “Flying J“ for breakfast and conjured up a plan to surprise Maria! Check out the video of the phone call to her… PRICELESS!!!!

On the trip home it was pouring rain from the location until Orillia where I dropped Ann off at her vehicle at my good Friends Alan and Dale’s home. We both messaged at 4:00am that we were home safe!

Next day, I had 2 schedule recoveries to be completed. One the farmer found his keys and the other I decided to push back in order to meet up with Maria and Thomas! Maria was so thankful that we took on this crazy challenge of a drive and she was so very grateful we found her precious late Grand Mother’s engagement ring which is now a Family Heirloom!!

We would like to thank Ontario Parks for permission to allow us to metal detect to find Maria’s ring!!

Thank you Maria and Thomas for the generous donation to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation!!

18k 750 White Gold Wedding band lost in the waters of Wasaga Beach, ON 🇨🇦

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

Mr. Lee and his family decided to go swimming at Wasaga Beach #1 on his 25th wedding anniversary!

The waters were getting rough mid-afternoon. He felt his ring pop off his finger and he tried to find it!

I received a call shortly after and headed up after work meeting Mr Lee and his Family! I started my grid search pattern with Mr. Lee in the water beside me and had no luck. The waters were calming down but there was still a little bit of an undertow. I had no luck after searching for 4 to 5 hours and decided to go back early Saturday morning! I continued again starting to grid search To the East of the previous days attempt!

Once I got back to the area where Mr. Lee felt his ring come off, I decided because of the undertow to search 10 to 50 feet behind where the area.

i had a solid crisp signal on the Equinox 800 with an “11” VDI reading! There was Mr’ Lee’s wedding band in my scoop!!!

check out the video!!

Here comes my favorite part!!! “THE SURPRISE”

It was an honor and a pleasure to help Mr. Lee recover his precious lost wedding ring of 25 years! I will be grateful for his donation to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer foundation when it comes in and he will receive a tax receipt for the amount!! My Pay-It-Forward” program !!

AUZZIE LOSES ENGAGEMENT RING OFF DOCK PARRY SOUND, ON

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

Received a text and subsequent telephone call from Holly and Australian Sheila. Holly has been visiting Ontario to help a dear Friend going through brain cancer. Previous weekend they were at a cottage on Rankin Lake in the beautiful Parry Sound area. Holly had taken both her engagement ring and wedding band off and tied them on her hair elastic then wrapping them around her cell phone. She picked up two oars and before she knew it saw them fling off her cell phone onto the deck. She found her wedding band on the dock but could not locate her white gold engagement ring.

Holly called a number of “ring finders” in a panic and took the first one available out of the Barrie area. Unfortunately, her engagement ring could not be located. She was again in a panic mode as she was heading home to Australia in a weeks time. Holly was extremely upset she called me again. We had made a last minute plan but had to cancel with the severe weather and tornado in eastern Ontario and Quebec with heavy damages. Upon speaking again mid-morning she had mentioned her return home and was desperate. I then finished packing my truck and said “LETS DO THIS – BE THERE IN 3 HOURS”.

We arrived at the cottage location, brought all the gear down and I proceeded to do a short grid from 4′ out from dock in and under. I decided not to do the area under the deck with a rock crib which is very difficult even though I also brought along my Detecnix pin pointer for that spot. Closer I was to shore after 10 minutes with 2 pull tabs, then a nail….there was the strong distinctive tone on the Minelab Excalibur 2!!! At this point I had a snorkel mask on without the snorkel as I left it in my truck. Holly was heading up to my truck to retrieve the snorkel and I said “wait a minute”…

After a few handfuls there was her beautiful engagement ring!! B=I=N=G=O!!

Here’s the video *******

We were both excited. She really didn’t think I was going to find it but she flies home a very happy lady.

I didn’t accept a reward for my “Pay-it-Forward” campaign for a charity donation (Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation) because I consider Holly an “EARTH ANGEL” for being here for a month looking after her dear Friend with cancer. I will Pray for her Friend!!! I was given an invitation if I ever head to the “LAND DOWN UNDER”….Sure going to consider that offer!!

I have already advised Holly of another awesome ring finder in Australia “Jean Williams”!!

Great to meet ya Shiela “Holly”!! Cheers and safe travels back home!!
