A Sentimental Necklace Recovered from the Darkness Beneath the Dock
When Brandon contacted us, it wasn’t just about finding a lost necklace—it was about recovering something that meant a great deal to him.
He believed the necklace may have slipped under the dock and suspected it had fallen into the water beneath it. Knowing how sentimental the necklace was, we arranged to search as soon as possible.
We began by scuba diving around the outside of the dock, carefully covering the surrounding area, but there was no sign of the necklace. That left one likely location—under the dock itself.
As soon as we descended beneath the dock, the conditions changed dramatically. The water was already dark, but with the dock blocking the sunlight, it became pitch black. Visibility was essentially zero, and the search had to be done almost entirely by feel and with the help of our underwater metal detectors.
Working slowly through the darkness, we finally heard the signal we had been hoping for.
There, resting on the bottom beneath the dock, was Brandon’s necklace.
Being able to hand back an item with so much sentimental value is what makes these recoveries so rewarding. What seemed lost in the darkness was reunited with its owner thanks to a little persistence, the right equipment, and a methodical search.
