Lina called about the loss of her Grandmother’s ring. Her Grandmother had been on the front porch when with a flick of the wrist her ring flew off into the yard to a place unseen. They had been looking for it for 3 days with no luck, so we made arrangements for me to come out a search for her.
I got there and asked the Grandmother to explain what happened, but she did not speak English, so Lina was able to help me with the interpretation. After she explained the loss, I began to search. I looked through a wood pile, some furniture, and other odds and ends with no luck. I then turned on my detector and went work scanning the ground. It was just a few passes, and a couple of times with the pin pointer, and I found the ring. It had been in the dirt with just a dusting of the dirt over it, but the color of the dirt was almost the color of the ring, so even if you were looking directly at it you would find it difficult seeing it. Anyway Lina’s Grandmother was very happy to have her ring back
