This gracious gentleman spent the day tending to his lakeside shoreline, raking weeds and debris. Late that evening, he realized his 53-year-old wedding ring was missing.
He thought back over his day, and the only thing he could recall was removing a protective glove while standing in the water. He suspected the ring may have slipped off his finger at that moment.
He contacted me, and we agreed on a date to search the area. Using my Manticore metal detector, I thoroughly searched the shoreline and water.
Several items were recovered along the way, including a shotgun shell, two cans, a can top, and several soft-drink pull tabs. Once the area was cleaned up, the search continued.
Finally, the signal we were hoping for appeared—the wedding ring!
The ring was found in approximately three feet of water and about ten inches down in the sand.
What makes this recovery even more special is that this ring has been on his finger for 53 years! It is only removed twice a year when he takes it to the jeweler for polishing. After all those years, it certainly wasn’t ready to be lost!
I am so glad your ring was found and returned to you. Thank you for choosing me to be your ring finder. It was truly an honor to help bring such a meaningful piece of your history back home! 💍
