Naples, FL — Ring Lost While Boating Found and Returned

from Sanibel Island (Florida, United States)

I received a call early Monday morning from Jermaine who was in desperate need of my metal detecting services.

A day prior, Jermaine and his lovely family were enjoying their new boat and a beautiful day on the water at the shore’s edge.  When it was time to call it a day and head back to the marina, Jermaine got out of the boat to give it a little push out into the deeper water. That’s when Jermaine’s hand slipped off the edge of the boat platform and he felt his custom gold and diamond wedding ring fall off his finger and saw it go into the water.  Everybody joined in the search for the lost ring, but they were unsuccessful in finding it.

After a long boat ride home and a sleepless night thinking about how to recover the lost ring, Jermaine got up early and began searching the internet.   That’s when he came across my contact information on the ring finders website under Naples.  We made arrangements for my wife and I to meet to meet him at the marina where his boat is kept.

About an hour later we were anchored in the general area where he had lost the ring the day before.  My wife and I began searching.  Approximately two and a half hours later, the search was over when a faint signal produced a custom gold and diamond ring.

Even though this search turned out to be one of our more challenging searches, we could all enjoy the boat ride back to the marina knowing the ring was found and back on Jermaine’s finger.  The smile says it all!

If you have lost a ring or other precious metallic item in the Naples, Bonita Beach, Estero, Fort Myers Beach or Sanibel areas of Southwest Florida, please feel free to give us a call.  Between my wife and I, we have several years of metal detecting experience and over 55 documented successful ring recoveries.

Sanibel / Captiva Island — South Seas Island Resort — Lost Coin Found and Returned

from Sanibel Island (Florida, United States)

We were contacted by Kim to find and return a lost Sixpence coin that was very sentimental to her and her family and traditionally part of family member’s wedding ceremonies.  The coin had been lost during Kim’s cousins’ wedding ceremony on the beach at South Seas Resort.  At some point before, during or after the ceremony, the coin—which was put in the wedding bouquet—had fallen out. Kim’s brother is getting married this summer, so it was important to Kim to make every effort possible to find the lost coin so he can use it during his wedding.

After arrangements were made and permission granted for us to enter the private resort, we arrived at the location.  There were three possible locations the ring could have been lost.  After a long walk to the ceremony site on the beach, my wife and I began our search.  After digging a few targets that were not the desired coin, it wasn’t long before I heard another signal close to the surface.  After sifting the sand out of the scoop, the lost coin had been found!

We made arrrangements to mail the coin back to Kim, and below is a picture of a happy Kim reunited with the coin.

Sanibel Island — Gold Ring Lost in Gulf Found & Returned

from Sanibel Island (Florida, United States)

We receive many calls asking for help in locating men’s rings lost at the beach.  Often times these rings are lost while tossing around a football.  This is one of those stories.

While diving into the water to catch a football, this young man’s gold wedding band slipped off his finger and fell into the water and sand below.  That’s the bad news.  The good news is, though, we were able to locate the lost ring and return it back to the young man.

The happy couple were now able to enjoy the rest of their vacation!
