14 years ago, Amber was styling a friends hair at her home in Minnesota. She took her rings off as usual, though this time, her 2 year old daughter saw that shiny diamond and decided it would be fun to play with. She went outside to her play area and returned with no ring(of-course)  – Now back to the present. Amber & her husband are having their yard scraped and re-graded in a week or so. Amber thought it would be a good idea to look one final time for that lost wedding ring before it is gone forever. She found me on the ring finders website and we set a day for the search. I was there for approx. a half hour collecting the usual suspects (pennies, foil, pop-tops etc.) when I got a familiar deep tone. I knew this hit had a good chance of being the ring, I dug about 2 1/2 inches down and there is was. Beautiful Gold Diamond ring. Shiny and bright as ever, just a little dirt on it. Living in the uptown area of Minneapolis when it snows, can be hectic. There is a required amount of time given; that you must move your vehicle for the plows or you get ticketed and towed. Miranda was cleaning the snow off her car when her ring flew off her finger. She heard it hit the car, though she couldn’t find it anywhere. Time was important, as the snowplows would be plowing soon. If that happened, the ring could end up anywhere. Miranda found the ring finders website and called me. I live about an hour away and I took off for the search as soon as I could. When I arrived, Miranda was out in the street, as she just directed the snowplow to avoid the area. She showed me the spot and it only took about 30 seconds to find her lost valuable. Truly glad I could help out. Congrats on having your ring back where it belongs.

I received a call from Bridget asking me to help find her husband Erik’s white gold wedding band. They were at a local fall festival with their kids and while playing in one of the attractions Erik’s ring was lost. Perfect timing for me, as I just got home from running some errands and I had a couple hours free – So, I headed down and met up with them at the festival. Eric showed me the approx. area he lost the ring and after a couple minute search, his wedding band was back on his finger – right where it belongs :). Glad the search went quick and smooth, some times searches can get long and  really tough. Truly happy I could help out Bridget.

Jeanne and her family were on vacation at her Dad’s cabin in Northwest Iowa. While on a canoe outing, her Dad, John was getting out of the canoe and felt his ring slip off his finger. The family tried to locate the ring to no avail. Jeanne contacted me through the ring finders website and explained the situation. The ring was lost in approx. 3 feet of water, the water has no visibility and a very rocky bottom. I drove down to Iowa and met with john, he showed me the area and scuba seemed to be the best method for recovery. I dawned my gear and walked into the water, the very first hit I got on my metal detector was his ring. I came up out of the water and one of John’s neighbors was standing on the dock. She asked me if rings could be found that have been lost for a couple years? I said sure, I’ve recovered rings that have been in the water for decades (maybe even a century). She informed me that her nieces husband lost his wedding ring a couple years back by their dock just about 100 yards away from John’s dock. I said OK, I’ll meet you over there. I swam over and she showed me the spot, I started my search and found an old rusty can. The next hit on my detector was a big old wedding ring. What a day, 2 lost rings and some very happy people – doesn’t get much better than that! 🙂

An old ring finder buddy of mine stopped back in town after moving to Texas for work. Scott & I headed out to Lake Minnetonka for a search of a family heirloom gold ring that was lost while swimming. Glad to have Scott along as he pulled the ring after a couple hour search. Suzy was so happy to have her ring back where it belongs. Congrats Suzy and a big Thanks to Scott for the help!

Zack was working on his boat lift canopy, when his wedding ring popped off his finger (Zack recently lost weight) and into the lake. He could actually see the ring in the water. As he tried to retrieve it, the muck stirred up and the ring was gone. Zack figured it was gone forever. Approx. 1 year later, Zack’s wife Colleen was reading the paper and saw an article on the ring finders. She gave me a call and we set up a day for the scuba search. The lake had no visibility and the muck and weeds were thick. I searched the area for 15 minutes or so, pulling out cans and trash. It was a tough search because the boat lift and dock are made of metal and this was interfering with my detector. I was just about to give up when I got one more hit and to my relief, it was a Gold Band :).

So glad I could help you out Zack & Colleen, it was nice chatting with you and thanks for the homemade cookies. Very tasty after a tough dive!

I received a call from John about a lost heirloom ring passed down from his Father. John recently bought a boat and parked it at a slip on the Mississippi river. While putting down his swim platform at the back of his boat, his Gold Diamond heirloom ring slipped off his finger and into the river. (I have to mention, John recently lost a lot of weight) The river is very muddy & the visibility while diving is zero. I jumped into the river at the back of his slip and hoped the ring didn’t fall too close to the metal supports that hold up the slip. There were many hits on my metal detector as I searched. I pulled out an Iphone first, though it was water logged and destroyed, so; no getting that back to it’s rightful owner. After about 15 minutes and finding a lot of junk, I decided to feel around in the approx. area. I got incredibly lucky as my ring finger actually went right inside the ring. Diving with no visibility is hard to say the least, you have no clue where you are or what’s right in front of you. Congrats on getting the ring back John, a pleasure to chat with you.

Heather had lost her wedding ring while at a day camp near the St. Criox river. She works with children who are dealing with epilepsy. While watching the kids play a game, she removed her wedding ring to apply suntan lotion. That’s the last time she can remember having her ring. She was telling a friend about her situation, luckily her friend had heard of the ring finders web site from a post on face-book. Heather brought up “theringfinders” and called me for help. I met her at the camp site and we discussed a plan of action for the search. It only took about 2 minutes and the ring was back on her finger 🙂 – So glad I could help you out Heather, and thank you for your work with the kids!
