I was contacted by Nancy about a set of keys and key fobs lost while raking and doing yard work. We talked about all the work she had done, places she had been, and went through all the possibilities we could think of. Nancy was extremely well thought out, and had already checked everywhere I could think of. So it was time to do a detailed search of the yard, leaves, landscaping, and bushes with my detector. A lot to cover, but a big target that should jump out if I swing over it. Well, after feeling like I covered everything, no keys. The shed had already been searched, but to be through I figured another set of eyes on it couldn’t hurt. While checking the shed Nancy started removing some of the tools and recounting what items she had used. One of the items was the blower which she pulled out and placed on one of two black wrought iron benches in front of the shed. At that point she realized and remembered exactly where the keys were. After opening the shed she had laid them over the arm of the bench where the black fobs blended in perfectly. We had both walked within inches of these keys several times without seeing them. Talk about hiding in plain sight. Thank goodness going through the process led to Nancy finding the keys. I was in total disbelief when I saw them, but very relieved they were found.
