Not always gold.
Received a call today, set of important keys lost over 2 weeks ago, snow plows have come through and piled the snow at the end of the lot.
Once I saw the snow mound (over 4′ high) my immediate reaction was to let it melt for a few more days and come back.
After second thought as long as I was there I told him I would at least skim over the top to see if it is shallow enough to detect.
After a few minutes I hit well over a foot down but so luckily as it could have been in the middle and totally undetectable.

Lost earring found in Chicago Il garden

Just didn’t ask enough questions.
Received a call for a woman that said she lost an earring in her garden.
Normally a garden search is pretty quick and easy, what I failed to realize is she is a horticulturist that maintains a garden for a housing complex that is about a half a block long.
I like a challenge and that sure presented one, there was a lot of “don’t step there, and don’t step there.
Thankfully I am used to hearing that when walking around my wife’s garden.
After about an hour of tiptoeing I got lucky and hit it.
Happy ending.

Lost wedding ring found in Darien, Il
Husband lost his wedding ring when throwing ball for dogs, who kept me company during the search.
This is another case of, “they are rarely found where you think they will be”
Told me he actually saw the ring come off and go up in the air, searched the area where he said it should have come down for about an hour with no success.
I actually found it after about 3 hours about 30ft to left of where he threw the ball, if not found where you think it should be, need to think out of the box and hunt everywhere. Hard to figure how it got there but happy ending.

Received a call for a woman in Downers Grove.

Lost her Gold Diamond ring but was not sure where she lost it.

She went shopping and check ed with 3 stores she shopped in to see if ti was turned in which it was not.

Normally these do not end well because you have no ideas where to look and Husband thought it was gone forever.

After a series of questions I found out she was doing some yard work earlier and took off her tight fitting glove a few times. What I first thought was going to be a lost cause turned out to be a 15 minute search, her smile says it all!

Received a call from a woman in Mount Prospect .
Lost her 18k wedding ring while playing with her kids in the yard.
I love yard searches because I probably have over a 95% success rate, if it’s lost in the yard it has to be there.
Once I arrived and asked more questions to get as much detail as I could one little thing was left out in our first conversation, they were playing on a Trampoline (yikes, what possibly could go wrong?)
She told me she saw it come off and was directed in the general direction she thought it went.
I carefully staked out the area After over 2 hours of searching and trying to navigate between a tremendous amount of trash in the ground (not visible) with no success I was getting ready to call it, but going back to my own rule of things are rarely found where you think they will be, based on that I decided to move the Trampoline, a few minutes later bingo, found it about in the center under the Trampoline. How it got there is anyone’s guess, I really could not figure that one out but the main thing is there was a happy ending,
Love this job!!!
