I got a text from Seth, telling me that he had just lost his wedding ring – that’s the usual part. The *UN*usual part is that he and his wife have been married almost two years and they’ve just now finally paid off the rings. Yikes! What a time to lose the ring! We made arrangements to get together at his house. It turns put that Seth had been trimming a holly bush and between getting stuck by the holly leaves and sweating heavily (95 degrees and >90% humidity), the ring had come off his finger and he hadn’t noticed. Seth and his wife had searched, but hadn’t been able to locate it, so they contacted me. After seeing the size of the bush, I decided to start at the bottom and work up, figuring that the ring had probably bounced its way down to the ground, but if it had snagged on the way down, I could always start working my way back up. The ring was indeed on the ground, but was covered by holly leaves and branches that had fallen during the trimming. Not a difficult recovery, but because of the extra motivation to get it back to Seth and his wife, a very meaningful recovery. Another happy ending!
