This all unfolded during a special trip they took on a hot air balloon ride out of a field in Del Mar to Rancho Bernardo. Suddenly Maria noticed her main diamond wedding ring was missing from her back pocket after the landing!!!
Immediately they searched everywhere with no luck. Even resorting to buying 2 metal detectors & driving back to the launching site before finding my Golden phone number online;)
The first site was definitely for no beginners as metal objects were littered everywhere in this undetected historical field. Although I saved all of us many hours of digging by discriminating iron metals & Junk it still took a few hours to determine her precious ring was just NOT at that launching site field. I asked many questions throughout the search like “Detective work” At the very end before calling it quits I remembered she mentioned she had put both her rings in the back pocket… I then asked if she had to climb out of the basket at the landing site and yes she said she did,,,That was a big Clue! Search to be Continued…
After mapping out the new search landing site,,We agreed & met there another weekend in San Diego. Fortunately this new area contained few buried metals & lots of hiding spots where it could be out of plain view of being found already.
The search continued on with the couple sifting through weeds for nearly an hour..As I was sweeping my Metal detector through the last possible area to scan I suddenly heard the sound of a Gold ranged signal then moved the dirt/weeds with my foot to the side that’s when the miracle happened! Maria’s ring was shining in the sun at me..You could only imagine the stress & worry’s washing away from this couple including nearly Two hundred others I have helped in the Past 10 years on TheRingFinders.Com
