LOST RING IN THE BUSHES WHILE WASHING CAR FOUND AND RETURNED

  • from Santa Monica (California, United States)

I GOT A CALL FROM AARON YESERDAY .  HE TOLD ME HE HAD LOST HIS OURA RING WHILE HE WAS WASHING HIS CAR. HE THOUGHT IT FELL INTO THE BUCKET OF WATER AND HE DUMPED IT OUT ON THE BUSHES IN THE FRONT YARD. HE LATER REALIZED HIS RING WAS MISSING SO HE BEGAN TO SEARCH THE YARD AND BUSHES IN CASE IT INFACT DID FALL INTO THE BUCKET OF WATER.  HE DIDNT HAVE ANY LUCK.  THATS WHEN HE FOUND ME ON THE RINGFINDERS WEBSITE AND SENT ME A TEXT.  WE MADE ARANGEMENTS LAST NIGHT SO  I DROVE OVER THERE THIS AFTERNOON AND BROUGHT A TEST RING WITH SOME YARN ATTACHED SO WE COULD THROW IT INTO THE BUCKET AND RECREATE THE LOSS.  THIS WAY I COULD SEE WERE THE RING MOST LIKELY ENTERED THE SHRUBS. MY IDEA WORKED LIKE A CHARM AND I WAS ABLE TO LOCATE THE RING WITH A HAND HELD METAL DETECTOR AND IT WAS BACK ON A AARONS FINGER IN LESS THAN THREE MINUTES. I WAS HAPPY TO REUNITE AARON WITH HIS SPECIAL RING AND WAS ON MY WAY HOME IN NO TIME AT ALL

LOST HEAVY GOLD HEIRLOOM RING IN THE SURF AT VENICE BEACH FOUND & RETURNED

  • from Santa Monica (California, United States)

I got a text on Saturday night from Greg about a heavy gold ring that he lost in the surf earlier that day at Venice Beach. We arranged to meet at Venice Beach at 10am the next day , so I could have time to search for the ring during low tide. When I arrived that morning the parking was already starting fill up. I met up with Greg and we walked out together so he could introduce me to his family and showed me location of the loss. He and his wife tried to explain the location in relationship to the life guard tower and other features on the beach. I was a little nervous, when I saw the area seem to be about 50 yards long , but we narrowed it down a little and I began my grid search working my way down the slope  and into the ocean . It was very quite, with very few signals, but after about a  half an hour just below calf deep, I got a soft but repeatable signal, dug down about a foot, two scoops and there was  Greg’s ring staring up at me. There were cheers, and high fives . Greg was ecstatic to have his grandfather’s   ring  back on his finger. They even have the same initials which was on the ring. I felt blessed  to be able to help such a nice family. It made a long drive home much more pleasant.
