Lost Wedding Band Recovered Coon Rapids Minnesota
Brett took a day for some fall clean up in his backyard. He was closing down the pool, getting ready for the long winter ahead. Shutting off the valves, his hands got wet with that freezing cold pool water of October in Minnesota. While shaking his hands off, he felt his platinum wedding ring slip off and heard the sound of metal hitting the concrete. He figured the ring either bounced into the pool or on the lawn next to the concrete. After searching the pool, he knew it had to be in the lawn somewhere. He searched and searched to no avail. This happened 3 years ago in 2022 and as life gets busy, he put the search on hold. Fast forward three years to 2025. Brett was chatting with a friend and his lost ring came up in the conversation. His friend said he had heard about a service that finds lost valuables for people. So, Brett searched google and theringfinders.com came up with my name & contact information. He gave me a call, explained the situation and I headed out to his place. I had Brett show me exactly where his ring came off and where he thought it might be. After years of blowing leaves, mowing the lawn, raking….it really could be anywhere. I started the search with my E-Trac metal detector and got a couple of high pitch “nice hits”, though I knew these were coins lost recently. Years of experience tells me that platinum gives off a nice low tone almost exactly as gold. I kept moving along the grass next to the concrete and I got a beautiful low tone in my ears. It was a strong tone also, telling me that the object is close to the surface. I knelt down, pulled out my Minelab pinpointer and figured out exactly where to dig. I dug a small circular hole only an inch or so deep, pulled back the grass and there was that beautiful platinum ring shining in the sunlight.
