Found Wedding Ring in Central Vermont

Got a call from a lady who’s husband is a specialty drum performer. He was participating in a music and drum event in the back yard of a local church. Before he began, he put his wedding ring in his pocket. I’m guessing playing drums that energetically probably isn’t comfortable wearing a ring! I’m a carpenter, and I also have that trouble occasionally.

She, her husband and friends had searched for a long time and pretty much given up and decided to call in a detectorist. So, she and her grandson met me there and I got started. On the very first pass of a grid search, I got that great tone you get from a surface ring! Wow, I was happy to give her their ring back! What a nice Fall evening!

Bocce Ball Engagement Ring Found! – Hartland, WI

  • from Menomonee Falls (Wisconsin, United States)

An afternoon of playing Bocce Ball ended on a devastating note when Hartland, WI resident, Morgan, realized her engagement ring was missing from her hand. She and her fiancé looked and looked all over their lawn and garden area where they had played but the delicate ring was nowhere to be found.

Desperate, Morgan scoured the internet for a metal detector. That’s when she discovered The Ring Finder’s directory of metal-detecting specialists and my name. I received a phone call from Morgan asking if I might be able to help. After asking many forensic-type questions about her activities and the circumstances leading up to the loss, I arranged to meet Morgan on location that same afternoon.

The search was a long shot. The ring could have been anywhere, including inside the house. But one tiny bit of evidence surfaced in our conversation which proved to be a game changer. Morgan had taken the ring off her hand just prior to playing Bocce Ball. She had placed it into a pocket of her sweatshirt for safekeeping. At one point she tucked her cellphone into the same pocket and remembered feeling the ring when she did so. It was clear the ring was in her possession as she exited the garage to go outside. The ring had to be somewhere in the grass or garden where they played. But it was a very large yard area. Where to begin? Sometimes there is very little useful information for determining where to start a search. And so I made a random decision to begin searching at one end of the yard.

Morgan hovered nervously as my detector barked out the presence of metal in the ground. It would take some careful analysis of all the signals to isolate the presence of a petite gold ring. As it turned out, I was surprised to see and hear a signal consistent with Morgan’s ring hardly 15 minutes into the search. Visually, I didn’t initially see the ring in the thick grass. But investigating further, Morgan’s beautiful ring came to the light of day again! Morgan preferred not to have her picture posted here, but I can tell you, the smile on her face was priceless!

Ken was working in his yard, doing yard work and cleaning out his swimming pool, and covered quite an area while doing so. When he came into the house and while washing his hands he realized his wedding ring was missing. He told me he has worn his ring for the last 7 years and he was desperately wanting to find it!

When I arrived at his home I was met by Ken and his dear wife and their little son. He showed me around his back yard indicating where he had done certain jobs, like draining the large hose for his pool, picking up debris here and there and where he had worked on his pool filter system. I began by systematically working my way around the yard trying to thoroughly cover each area! Earlier Ken had indicated where he unrolled and rerolled a large flat hose and that grassy area was where Ken’s lost wedding ring was hiding! Ken and his wife were thrilled to have their token of love back on Ken’s finger where it belonged and I was privileged to be involved in that awesome reunion! Again I said a prayer to my heavenly Father for helping me find Ken’s lost wedding ring!

Give me a call or text me ASAP and let me help you find what you have lost!

Brandon was enjoying the hot sun and warm waters with his family and everything was going great until the chain around his neck broke and a very special ring that was attached fell into the churning Atlantic surf! This special gold wedding ring was a gift that belonged to his deceased grandmother and something that Brandon cherished very, very much! He was heart broken and extremely upset with himself for not remembering to take the chain off before going into the water. (The best thing would have been to leave it at home or in his vehicle!). Allot of people think they will not lose their ring or chain because it has never just come off before and say to themselves, “What could possibly happen?”.

Thankfully Brandon was quite sure of the area where he was standing when he lost his precious ring! The following day I arrived just before low tide and marked out an area with my flags and began my grid search. Brandon and his wife watched for a while as I made my way in and out of the surf and I am sure they were anxious to see if I would uncover his ring. I dug a few targets here and there, the usual coin or two and a pull tab. Brandon was getting ready to leave in his vehicle to get their kids when I motioned for him to check out what I had just dug! Overjoyed and with tears in his eyes he confirmed that my last target was indeed his grandmothers lost gold wedding ring! With tears in my own eyes I said a silent prayer to thank my heavenly Father for helping me find and return Brandon’s lost ring!

Lost Gold Ring – Found! in Pittsburgh

I received a text from Arthur that he had lost his grandfather’s ring in his neighbor’s backyard. In talking to Arthur it was on a tray that he dumped, forgetting it was on there. He heard it hit the chain link fence separating the yards and spent hours in vain looking, unable to find it. The ring was very special (as most are) with the story of this one having belonged to his grandfather who served in World War II and then continued serving in the NYPD. The ring was from his grandfather’s time in the NYPD.

I arrived at the house and met Arthur who showed me the search area. Pretty standard, however, the chain link fence of course could pose a challenge. My thought was it was directly under the fence and would be very difficult to locate. I searched with my large coil first, then switched to my smaller one to get closer to the fence. It took me about an hour, but I located the ring a short distance from fence next to a large pine tree. The pine needles provided the perfect hiding place.

Arthur was elated to have his ring back as his face lit up with a great big smile. The ring was a large gold ring and was inscribed Captain, a tribute to the rank of Arthur’s Grandfather at the time of his retirement I would assume. There was a little bit of added pressure trying to find and return this hero’s ring to his grandson and I am glad to have been able to do so. It is always a blessing to meet kind and generous people like Arthur and a pleasure to have been able to find and return his ring!!

lost Gold Chain + Rings found in Fairhaven, Mass

A friend on Facebook sent me a listing of a Gold chain with a diamond butterfly lost that had 3 rings on it at the beach. After reaching out to Alyssa, she finally got back to me after a few days. We chatted about what I do and how it was lost. She had mentioned that for me not to bother to travel so far because she said a couple of other guys had searched high and low for them to no avail. We agreed that maybe someone had seen them on the sand and possibly picked them up.

I again reached out about four days later and told Alyssa that when I got over that way I would check the area in question and went over that day again. I asked if she had gone into the water, she replied no just to the waters edge. She did mention that she walked up to the bathing houses on her way out that day.

Two month’s had gone by. It was honestly haunting me, to know that such a precious set of rings and a gold butterfly chain was just possibly sitting in the sand without no one looking for them any longer. I keep a list of NON found things on my desk. I looked at that note everyday. I decided to make the trip yesterday. I searched the area in question for an hour, I was almost up to the parking lot, but still in the path sand area, when I got that familiar low tone. I dug down, and out popped a Gold ring, still didn’t look familiar. I checked the hole and another low tone, and again out popped two more gold rings and they were attached to a beautiful gold diamond butterfly chain. Now I was smiling. I knew I had Alyssa’s precious rings. The best part is that she had not even known that I went to look for them.

I contacted her again through Facebook and I am happy to say she is reunited with them once again. Never give up, in this case keeping notes and persistence paid off. On a side note to the story, Shawn was off the hook, he apparently was the one who had them in his shirt, and dropped them. Congratulations Alyssa on your return. Sincerely Leighton

How to find gold with a metal detector

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Vancouver Ring Finder Chris Turner- Ring Recovery Specialist…Lost your ring?… Metal Detecting Service/Call ASAP  Anytime   778-838-3463

I got a phone call from a young man who lost a special pendant with his name on it, he lost it at a picture and put golf course at Central Park in Burnaby. His gold chain got caught on his golf bag and broke the clasp and he lost a gold cross and his gold pendant. He remembered this happen at the 14th hole but didn’t realize it had broken until he got to the 16th hole when he felt his chain fall off his neck, he looked around and went back to the 15th hole where he teed off and found his gold cross by a bench but he couldn’t find the pendant with the name ”Marshall” on it.

He search for a while but it was getting too dark so he packed it up went home, he remembered seeing a story about John Cryer who lost his ring here in Vancouver and that’s how he found TheRingFinders. We talked about the chances of finding this pendent but he couldn’t meet me there in the morning to show me his movements because he had to work. I knew it was three holes 14,15 and 16 so I got out there first thing in the morning and walked around to see if I could eyeball the gold pendent, I felt it should’ve just set up somewhere and easily been spotted. However two hours grid searching and I could not find his pendant.

I packed it up reached out to Marshall and asked if we can meet the next day, he arranged to meet me after his work this way I was able to see exactly what he could remember and where he may have been off the course. That being said I was very curious to search the area with my Metal Detector where he found the gold cross, as it made sense to me if one fell the other one should be close bye. After a few minutes at the 15th hole I got a 4-5 in a bit of loose dirt and grass I moved it with my foot inside a beautiful colour of gold and his name. I was able to surprise marsha and so happy to get back that pendant that was a gift from his late grandmother. These are such sentimental items that can never be replaced and it was an honour to be able to help continue that story for the showman.
