I received a call from Cody, who was understandably very upset. His wife, Valerie, had just lost her beautiful engagement ring somewhere in the area where their group had been sitting on the beach. I assured him that if the ring was still there, I would find it, and told him to try and relax. I let him know I could head right over, and he sent me the pin location.
When I arrived, Cody was waiting for me at the dune path. We walked down to the beach together, and he explained what had happened. Valerie had given her engagement ring to her mother for safekeeping while they went for a swim in the ocean. She placed the ring in the top pocket of her beach chair, but when she bent over, it slipped out into the soft, deep sand without anyone noticing. The entire family had searched everywhere but had no luck, and Valerie felt absolutely terrible.
Once we reached the area, I asked everyone to move the chairs, towels, and beach gear so I had a clear workspace. After only a couple of swings with my detector, I got a beautiful, solid signal that left little doubt what it was. I reached down into the sand, and there was Valerie’s precious engagement ring.
The entire group erupted in cheers, and there were even a few tears of joy. It was a perfect example of why it’s so important to call immediately after losing something valuable. The sooner I can get on scene, the better the chances of recovering it before shifting sand or another beachgoer unknowingly finds it.
Another successful recovery and another happy family. It was another perfect day for Edward Trapper and NJ Ring Finder.
