This one started with a sentence that probably sounded perfectly reasonable at the time.
His wife reminded him not to lose his wedding ring.
So he decided to show her just how securely it was staying on his finger.
A second later, the 14K gold and diamond wedding ring slipped off and disappeared into the lake.
They knew the general area where it had gone in and spent the rest of the day searching, but had no luck finding it.
Later that evening, they found me online and gave me a call.
I arrived first thing the following morning, entered the water, and started working the most likely loss area with a methodical search.
About 15 minutes later, I had the ring in my hand.
Needless to say, there was a lot of relief and emotion when it was returned. The couple is also expecting twins in a few days, which made getting his wedding ring back feel even more meaningful.
A great reminder that if you lose a ring in the water, try to remember the exact area, nearby landmarks, approximate depth, and where you were standing or swimming. Good location information can make all the difference.
Ring recovered and returned in Central Oklahoma.
