Ebony’s car was parked while she took off her wedding band and engagement ring to apply lotion to her hands. She carefully placed the rings on top of the dashboard of her fairly new Kia. Just as Ebony reached for her most important jewelry, the rings slid away from her fingers and the wedding band disappeared into the catacombs of the dashboard and could no longer be seen or retrievable.

Ebony knew that there was nothing that she could do to gain access to the area where her beloved wedding band was trapped. She had two choices: One, she could spend up to $2500.00 to have the dashboard removed in order to gain access to the precious rose gold jewel. After I received all of the details that I needed to hear, I worked out a time to meet up with Ebony in order to conduct the search. When I arrived, my client showed me the dashboard and pointed in the direction of where the wedding band disappeared into the endless chambers of plastic and fiberglass.

Next, I retrieved the necessary gear to begin the recovery operation. In all honesty, I had no idea whether or not this recovery attempt could even be successful based on how complicated the situation was. My probe couldn’t find the ring anywhere in sight which told me that this was a tough search in every which way!

I searched and searched for the missing sentimental keepsake and eventually, after perhaps another 45 minutes or so, I viewed on my screen what appeared to be a piece of rose gold dangling on a strip of cable and wire. Even though I was excited about identifying the location of the missing ring, the method for retrieving the jewelry was entirely a huge question mark for me!

I tried and tried hard again to manipulate my scope and hook to maneuver them into position to grab ahold of the target. Unfortunately every attempt ended in failure. However, I didn’t give up. I kept trying new strategies to see if I could capture the gold and diamonds with some other method and or angle. And yes, I am so very happy to share that after a long period of time, I was finally able to recover Ebony’s beloved lost 14 karat rose gold and diamonds nested wedding band from the depths of that ferocious Kia dashboard! The jewel had fallen deep down into the middle of the inner contraptions and wiring of the dash and I was even impressed with myself with what I was able to accomplish that morning!

The most favorite part of the visit was calling my client up to share the fantastic news that I was successfully able to recover Ebony’s special ring (she had to go into work so I was left with the Kia to work on the search)! She was beyond thrilled at hearing the positive update! She couldn’t believe it! the young lady was getting her ring back! I saved Ebony a fortune by not having to go to the dealer to remove the dashboard and I helped to preserve a very important and sentimental keepsake!
