Lost Wedding Ring Found and Returned, to the Owner, by the Lost Ring Recovery Tahoe Team (Paul, the River-King, and metal detector specialist—Trevor Oxborrow).
I was contacted by Megan, on August 10th, requesting a lost wedding ring search in the Truckee River. The ring was lost when her husband fell out of his raft—in the rapids—just before the River Ranch take-out area.
The next morning I searched for several hours with no success. The strong current made the search slow and very difficult. I decided to wait until after Labor Day when the river water flow gets reduced.
On my next search, right after Labor Day, I happened to meet-up with Paul, the River King—my go-to river recovery partner.
I described the ring we were looking for, and he said “I already found that ring”.
I immediately texted a photo to Megan. She texted back “That’s it! I can’t believe it!”
The wedding ring, lost for over 30 days underwater in the Truckee River, was on its way back home.
