*** Late one evening, I received a call from a man named Eli who had lost a beautiful 3-ounce, 21K gold necklace at
Marina del Rey. He contacted me around 7 PM, and because the necklace was lost in the dry sand, I knew the search needed to happen as quickly as possible.

Unlike rings or small pendants that often sink beneath the sand, a gold chain can sometimes remain partially visible and could easily be spotted and picked up by someone walking by. Waiting until the next day would also increase the risk of losing it forever, since the city maintenance crews regularly sift and rake the beach each morning.

I drove to Marina del Rey and met Eli at the beach around 10 PM in the dark. After searching the area with my metal detector, we were finally able to recover his beautiful gold necklace that same evening.

Eli was extremely happy and relieved to have such a valuable and meaningful piece returned to him before it was gone for good
