Lost Diamond & Platinum Engagement Ring Recovered in Half Moon Bay, California 94019

  • from Portland (Oregon, United States)

Bentley was proposing to his fiance on Poplar Beach this morning, when Max the dog jumped up and knocked the ring into the air. It vanished into the sand. Bentley used his smartphone to locate the Ringfinders, and I arrived 30 minutes later.

Recovered: 1 carat, pear shaped diamond, of very high clarity and color, which is surrounded by approximately 32 small brilliant diamonds of similar quality, set in a classic Tiffany style platinum setting. Beautiful, brand new ring, never worn, until recovered today. I had the honor of handing the ring to the bride to be.

Best wishes for your continued good taste and good luck Bentley!

Diamond Ring Lost For a Month Recovered in El Granada, California 94019

  • from Portland (Oregon, United States)

Adrian was trying to work in her garden but her two little dogs insisted on wanting to play ball in her wild back yard. She kept throwing the ball for them until she noticed her father’s diamond ring also go flying, deep into the grass and tall clover, lush from our heavy December rains. Even though Adrian watched her ring disappear, she searched her back yard fruitlessly for over a month. Her husband even burned down the grass to make it easier to find, but no luck! Finally, her father, a Redwood City jeweler, gave her one of my THR business cards that I had left at his shop several months ago. Adrian called me on Friday, and by Tuesday afternoon, after two hours of searching, I recovered her ring in deep grass, under about 1/2 inch of mud. Because this was a treasured gift from her father, Adrian said it’s more dear to her than her wedding ring!

Adrian went crazy when I returned her ring to her! She was VERY happy.

After being lost for over a month, she was more than overjoyed to get it back. She danced around screaming and yelling and gave me at least 6 hugs! That’s what it’s all about! Adrian thought her ring was made of yellow and white gold, but my detector indicated more of a platinum signal. Either way, it’s a very beautiful filigree and diamond ring, and one of my most satisfying recoveries!

Solid 24k Gold Wedding Band Recovered in Half Moon Bay, CA 94019

  • from Portland (Oregon, United States)

Two weeks shy of their 2nd wedding anniversary, the husband had been flying his kite when he noticed his solid gold, 24 karat wedding band had somehow slipped off his finger and fallen into the deep dry sand. His ring is an exact match of his wife’s ring, both solid Indian gold. After searching all afternoon with his 10 friends, the husband could not sleep last night. We came back to foggy Half Moon Bay beach this morning, and walked to just south of the state park, where he had wisely marked the search area with a large pile of sand.

I began a systematic spiral search pattern radiating out from his marker pile. After about an hour, and after finding 9-10 beer bottle caps and other debris, about 25 feet from the center marker, I detected what sounded like a quarter. Expecting to add an old  coin to the day’s finds, his glittering solid gold band appeared in my scoop! Solid gold has a deep rich, magnificent texture and color, there is nothing else like it.

This happy couple requested to be anonymous, but agreed to allow me to publish photos of their matching solid gold wedding bands. Happy 2nd Anniversary!

Any day is a great day after a successful recovery. We went our separate ways this morning with a deep feeling of happiness and gratitude in our hearts. Nothing beats a successful recovery on a Sunday morning!
