Lost Ring in LAKE San Marcos

  • from Carlsbad (California, United States)
  1. My Ringfinder partner ( Curtis) was contacted about a ring lost in a old lake near by us. He called to see if I could dive it. After alot of checking we put together a plan. Honored to have 2 members of TRF not only come but helped in this return.

There was no visibility at all here so I had to dive blind, best way for me is close me eyes.  20 plus min on the bottom of a muck filled lake, 30 pieces of metal that sat 18” deep in (?)

After cleaning what I could got one last faint signal, reaching though 18” of  feels kinda like clay, I feel something on my baby finger so I keep pushing to hard pack, oh my I think I got it as I hold it tight in my fist. Cant see so gota go up. Rest of story on 10 News.

Return was done live on our local news

Thanks to Curtis for the call,  Stan and Curtis for their help. Its what we do.

Look at that Smile.

Lost Ring Swimming Encinitas

  • from Carlsbad (California, United States)

I decided to go alittle early cause low tide would be late. We met about 6:00 pm and I told Frank and his family might be 8 pm before I get it. They went for walk around town while I started to grid into waist deep water.

  • Total search aprox one hour from the time I got there but 15 min after they went to town.  I called Frank and said I got something for you. You could hear in his voice the excitement. So I went to my truck and drove to the parking lot to meet up for the return and the smile picture for the book of Smiles.  Read the rest of this entry »
