Water Recovery of Lost Falcon Hunter’s Platinum Wedding Band in Tamales, California 94971

Eric was hunting ducks with his falcon on a small ranch pond just west of Petaluma, CA near the historic town of Tamales. With his falcon circling patiently above, Eric flung his arms up to frighten some ducks to lift off the water. (Falcons only hunt in mid-air.)   In doing so, his also flung his platinum wedding band straight into the stock pond! Most people panic, but Eric was smart.

Eric was smart because he called me.

Below: Eric made it easy by smartly marking the place his ring flew off with his hat. We went back to the exact same place on the shore. I found the ring 20 feet straight out from that point in 4 feet of farm tank water.

After the successful recovery, Eric and Andrea took me hawk hunting on farms around Tamales and Petaluma, CA. Watching the hawk rise up and hunt for a while, and then return,  as Andrea walked the fields with his perch, was the most elegant and coolest human / bird relationship I have every seen.

It was all a very fun adventure in Sonoma County.

Art was cleaning his outdoor BBQ area, tossing leaves and other organic debris down the hill when he felt his heavy gold ring go flying too! He heard it rolling down the freshly mowed hillside and then quietly vanish into the tall grass. Wisely, Art called The Ring Finders in San Francisco. Dave Millman was unable to handle the call, so he referred it to me. Happily I was able recover Art’s treasured keepsake in less than an hour of searching, thanks to Art’s excellent description of the probable search area.

Art is a delightful fellow. I was very pleased to recover his very unique white and yellow gold architectural gold band.

Client’s Thankyou Note:

“The Ring Finders is quite simply an amazing organization, and proof that there are do-gooders in the world and Angels among us. Marshall Smith is one of those rare and remarkable Angels!

After losing a very special, sentimental and valuable ring on my 8-acre steep wooded hillside property in Marin, I was resigned that I would never find my lost ring. After reading about all of the amazing people on ringfinders.com website I got a little bit of hope that this wasn’t a lost cause. I picked up the phone and called one of the “Angels” and they said they were busy, but could recommend another colleague Mr. Marshall Smith. I called Marshall and much to my surprise he was immediately available! I asked him the “cost” to recover the ring, and he was hesitant and told me he’d have to at least cover his “costs” which amounted to his modest gas and toll charges. I won’t reveal the amount I gave him as a small reward… but I never for a moment felt that the The Ring Finders were doing this service for the money or anything other than doing good deeds in the world and offering an amazing service.

Marshall had me re-enact the circumstances of losing my ring, asked me a few questions, and managed to find my ring in less than an hour on a steep wooded slope covered with brush and grasses. Marshall took a distressing situation and made it fun, memorable and really left me with a great feeling about our fellow human beings when we decide to use our skills for good.

I’m delighted to have my ring back, but I’m more delighted now that my ring has additional meaning beyond its original story of love. The Ring Finder’s and Marshall have now given my ring additional meaning beyond its original sentiment. My ring now reminds me that there are Angels among us; kind amazing people who do good deeds in this world, and give me hope that we can all do better in service to each other.

Thanks Marshall, I’m forever grateful to you and The Ring Finders!”
